We're not certain how many Stephen King fans watch CBS, but I noticed while watching “Survivor” this week that the network is rolling out a series of promos for its 13-episode “Under The Dome” miniseries. A sampling:
“Under The Dome” is based on the Stephen King novel about a small municipality suddenly and mysteriously enclosed by an invisible, spherical forcefield.
Niels Arden Oplev (who helmed the original “Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”) directs at least some of the miniseries from teleplays by longtime “Lost” writer Brian K. Vaughn.
The mini stars Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”) as evil town leader Big Jim Rennie, Rachelle Lefevre (the “Twilight” movies) as newsgirl Julia Shumway, Natalie Martinez (“Detroit 1-8-7,” “End of Watch”) as deputy Linda Everett, Aisha Hinds (“Detroit 1-8-7,” “End of Watch”) as high-powered Los Angeles attorney Carolyn Hill, Britt Robertson (“Life UnExpected”) as aspiring nurse Angie McAlister, Jolene Purdy (“Donnie Darko,” “Glee”) as genius radio engineer Dodee Sanders, Nicholas Strong (“Nashville”) as deejay Phil Bushie, Colin Ford (“We Bought a Zoo”) as teenager Joe, Mike Vogel (“Cloverfield”) as military vet Dale Barbara, and Alex Koch as college boy Junior Rennie.
It hits CBS June 24.
