1/6 SCALE IRON MAN MARK XLII FROM HOT TOYS
A couple of weeks ago we showed you the new 1/6 scale Iron Patriot diecast action figure. This week it's Tony's turn. His new suit of armor featured in the upcoming Iron Man 3 has gotten the deluxe diecast figure treatment as well. It features a battle damaged open helmet with Robert Downey Jr.’s likeness, an alternate helmet head with light-up function, 36 points of articulation, a light-up reactor on the chest, three pairs of interchangeable hands (two of which have light-up repulsers), fully deployed air flaps on the armor, swappable battled damaged armor plates, metallic red, gold and silver painting on the suit and a figure stand. He’ll fly into action in February or you can preorder him here.
MARVEL SELECT IRON MAN AND WAR MACHINE FROM DIAMOND SELECT TOYS
Art Asylum posted more images of the upcoming Marvel Select figures of the Mark 42 and War Machine. These were designed by Gentle Giant based on digital data from the film, and will stand approximately 7.5-inches tall with 16 points of articulation. Each will come with an armor bay diorama base and will exclusively be available at comic shops and specialty stores starting this summer. Tony and Rhodey are also up for preorder at EntertainmentEarth.com.
1966 BATMAN MEZ-ITZ FROM MEZCO TOYS
It seems like every week since Toy Fair, we've gotten a new classic Batman toy announcement. This week is no exception. Mezco will soon feature Adam West and Burt Ward as their classic TV characters in a new wave of vinyl figures. Just like the 1966 Batman TV show, this series will feature the Batmobile based on the vision of crazy car designer George Barris, along with the rogue’s gallery of The Penguin, The Joker, Catwoman, The Riddler and a Riddler thug. These should hit stores in July.
DELUXE SOLOMON GRUNDY FROM DC COLLECTIBLES
Batman’s biggest opponent from the Arkham City video game will soon get the deluxe 13-inch treatment from DC Collectibles. Solomon Grundy features multiple points of articulation and a removable heart and chest. He’ll stomp his way into toy collections this September or you can preorder him here.
MARVEL UNIVERSE VICTOR VON DOOM AND ARCHANGEL FROM HASBRO
ToyArk.com reports that HasbroToyShop.com plans to re-release a couple Marvel Universe action figures that had been used as incentives for Marvel’s digital subscription service. A maskless Victor Von Doom and the X-Force version of Archangel are both listed as “Coming Soon” on the Hasbro website. $14.99 each seems like a good deal considering both of these guys will set you back a low three figures on ebay.
And finally this week, we have an excellent parody toy commercial featuring the latest G.I. Joe flick. I may need to get me one of those new lifelike action figures of The Rock...
