The Kidd here...
One of the biggest appeals to me about watching a movie that deals with magicians and illusionists is seeing their approach to dealing with the big reveal. There's always some type of big trick that we've never seen done before accomplished, and our natural curiosity is to learn how well the film is able to pull off its explanation. That's really what has my interest in NOW YOU SEE ME, which puts a set of four magicians, known as The Four Horsemen (Wooooo!!!), in a Robin Hood heist situation, robbing from the rich to give to the poor, all while dodging the authorities who are dead set on bringing down their operation. The cast and premise are enough to hook me... but I want to see what the end game is, what they have up their sleeves, so to speak, and I'm willing to sit through the entire film to find out. I just hope that winds up being a good thing to do, and not one that I'm going to regret later.
Summit Entertainment has pulled back the curtain on the film's latest trailer, and, while there's plenty to dazzle you and visually stimulate you here, isn't that all part of the illusion as well? I'm looking for some clever misdirection that makes sense, and I hope we get it May 31.
