BEFORE MIDNIGHT is a guaranteed slot on my top ten for 2013. If for some insane reason, we get an amazing year in film, it doesn't wind up there, then 2013 will simply be too incredible for rankings. It's one of the most realistic portrayals of married life I've seen on film, and as Richard Linklater, Ethan Hawke, and Julie Delpy grow older with these movies, and wiser as well, the BEFORE films resonate very deeply with anyone who has ever been in love. This is my favorite film Richard Linklater has ever made, and yeah, that includes DAZED AND CONFUSED.
Okay, enough hyperbole (too late). Here's the trailer for BEFORE MIDNIGHT, but if you've seen the first two, do yourself a favor and don't worry about watching this. Just go in blind, and you'll find that the movie will take you utterly away. But it's a good trailer regardless, and only hints at the depth and emotion within.
BEFORE MIDNIGHT opens this May. I'm already excited to see it again.
