The Kidd here...
Wes Anderson movies just aren't my thing. I can appreciate what some really dig about them, but, in taking them all in, they've just failed to connect with me on any level thus far. Therefore, there's a segment of the movie geek population that eats up every bit of information on the next Anderson film since they can't wait for it to head in their direction. So it'll be welcome news to them to learn that today we've got a synopsis for his next picture, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, that offers up a taste of whhat the film is about.
THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL tells of a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protégé.
The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.
The film features an impressive cast of Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Saoirse Ronan, Tom Wilkinson, Mathieu Amalric, F Murray Abraham, Bob Balaban and Tony Revolori, and has now been picked up by Fox Searchlight.
