Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Sundance 2012 kicked off with a nice Aussie thriller called WISH YOU WERE HERE, produced by the Blue Tongue Films folks who brought us Hesher, Animal Kingdom and The Square. I thought it was pretty great and now they're finally on the verge of seeing a release.
Starring the under-utilized Joel Edgerton, Teresa Palmer, Felicity Price and Antony Starr the film focuses on a group of Australian tourists who to go Cambodia for a good time. Unfortunately one of the group disappears on the trip and the movie is about what happened to that person, who knows what and when they knew it.
I had a blast with the flick and I'm excited it's poised for some kind of release this summer. It would be a great palate cleanser in-between all the goofy big tentpole fair.
