THE OFFICE’s Rainn Wilson Commits To CBS Cop-Show Pilot!!
NBC’s refusal to greenlight the Dwight Schrute spinoff “The Farm” could reap dividends for CBS.
Rainn Wilson has agreed to play the title role in the eye net’s “Backstrom” pilot, the tale of a self-destructive detective.
It’s not a series yet, but it’s been nearly 40 minutes since CBS last took a cop show to series, so you know that network is itching to pull the trigger.
Wilson earlier played a crimefighter in 2010’s “Super” (and a thinly disguised Harry Knowles surrogate in a 2005 episode of “Entourage”).
