Rainn Wilson has agreed to play the title role in the eye net’s “Backstrom” pilot, the tale of a self-destructive detective.
It’s not a series yet, but it’s been nearly 40 minutes since CBS last took a cop show to series, so you know that network is itching to pull the trigger.
Wilson earlier played a crimefighter in 2010’s “Super” (and a thinly disguised Harry Knowles surrogate in a 2005 episode of “Entourage”).
