Dinsey's looking for a fresh live action adaptation of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST - this one's from Joe Ahearne, a writer on Danny Boyle's soon-to-be-released TRANCE. Ahearne's previous script work includes 1998's vampire-themed TV series ULTRAVIOLET, and he's also directed a number of 2005+ DOCTOR WHO episodes.
Regarding BatB...
The film will be produced by Mandeville’s David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman and Disney’s LouAnne Brickhouse will steer the project.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST has been adapted innumerable times over the years, perhaps most famously by Jean Cocteau in 1946, the Linda Hamilton/Ron Perlman-starring 1980s TV series of the same name, and Disney's iconic 1991 musical. It was recently and not-so-successfully brought to the big screen as a non-starting picture called BEASTLY with Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, and Mary-Kate Olsen.
No word yet on how Ahearne & Co. will be approaching this newest iteration.
