News Corp. Source Says NBC Wants Howard Stern To Replace Jimmy Fallon On LATE NIGHT!!
Stern is already at work on his second season of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and still has years to go on his contract with Sirius XM radio.
But. Stern has a lot of vacation weeks and only works on the radio three days on the weeks he does show up.
Now this story is from Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., which also reported Megan Fox was locked in to play Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises.”
A more reputable news organization has sources indicating that "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" will be announced at the NBC upfront in two months. Leno's current NBC contract expires next year.
“Late Night” started with David Letterman, then went to Conan O’Brien, then to Jimmy Fallon.
Fans of his radio show know that as an interviewer, Stern is without peer, with an amazing ability to pry details out of celebrities that other interviewers fear pursuing. If Stern does indeed get the show, he'd be wise to adopt a newsier format like the ones Tom Snyder and Bob Costas employed.
