Last week newly freed John Bates accidentally arranged for evil homosexual Thomas Barrow to be installed as Downton’s underbutler. (Jim Carter, I thought, stole the episode with the disgust that consumed Charles Carson when offered the details of Barrow’s conquests.)
PBS says of tonight’s season finale:
The family travel to Duneagle Castle to pay a visit to Rose and her parents in the Highlands. There ends up being tension between their hosts though. Carson is determined to make sure that the servants back at Downton continue to work hard, but with a country fair coming up, it could prove a difficult task. Mrs Patmore might be about to be romanced.
Returning tonight:
The 22nd season of “The Amazing Race” (8pm CBS) features female descendants of both Daniel Boone and John Wayne, brothers who play hockey, a pair of “YouTube hosts,” Muslim doctor twins, and father/son cancer survivors.
