Looks like Sony is developing a new take on the classic Oliver Twist and Artful Dodger characters originated by Charles Dickens in 1838's OLIVER TWIST.  

This new version comes to us from Cole Haddon, who is curently developing a DRACULA TELEVISION SERIES for NBC.  

Twist takes pickpocketing rivals Oliver Twist and Artful Dodger and re-imagines them 20 years down theroad. The two are on opposite sides of the law and get embroiled in an affair to steal the Crown Jewels.

Kudos to Haddon & Co. for at least keeping these 're-inventions' set in their more or less proper time periods, when it would've been so easy...for example...to spin The Feral Kid as a pickpocketing orphan in a Mad Maxian future, for example.  Which, actually...
