Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Picture.
I haven’t seen 1933’s Bombshell, but I have seen this image and it’s pretty wonderful so I had to run with it.
I know the film is a comedy about a famous actress based loosely on Clara Bow, which is interesting because director Victor Fleming was once engaged to Bow. So this would be like Billy Bob Thornton directing a movie about a ditzy, greedy and beautiful actress getting married to Brad Pitt.
The pic featuers Fleming (famous for his one-two punch of The Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind in 1939) and his DP Harold Rosson looking on as his actors work. We see them reflected in a mirror. That’s Jean Harlow and Lee Tracy if ya’ didn’t know.
Thanks once again to the great Decaying Hollywood Mansions for providing the image.
If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hi-ho, hi-ho it’s off to tomorrow’s pic we go.
I’ve got a lot of maintenance work to do on the previous BTS articles, but you can visit two pages worth of images (beware of some broken links thanks to the last server shift): Click here to visit Page One and Click here to visit Page Two
