David Denman, who played Pam Beesley’s old “The Office” boyfriend from the Dunder Mifflin warehouse, will play a loyal, likeable and awkward Beverly Hills detective named Brad in CBS’ pilot for a “Beverly Hills Cop” TV series.
Presumably Brad is the new Rosewood.
Writer-producer Shawn Ryan (“The Shield,” “Terriers,” “The Chicago Code,” “The Last Resort”) is masterminding the project, which centers on Axel Foley’s son, a Detroit police detective who finds himself lured by a lead to a wealthy corner of Southern California.
Eddie Murphy reprises the role of Axel Foley (now a Detroit police bigwig) in the pilot and is expected to recur if the pilot goes to series. (They should also try to rope back John Ashton, Judge Reinhold and Bronson Pinchot if they’re not super-busy.)
