Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Picture.
I’ve been out of the house all day, but before I crashed I wanted to make sure both my regular columns got posted. First up is the BTS pic, which is a rather cool makeup chair photo of the one and only John Chambers applying Zira makeup to Kim Hunter for the original Planet of the Apes.
What’s particularly interesting about this one is that it’s a makeup test, before production began. You’ll notice the Zira face isn’t exactly as it appeared in the movie. It’s most noticeable in the nose, which isn’t the heart-shaped nose we all know and love, but rather more dramatic flat-nosed version.
