If The CW’s AMAZON
Wonder Woman Project Ever Manifests, It Won’t Be Soon!!
“Amazon,” the CW project designed to delve into the early days of DC Comics’ Wonder Woman, will not go to pilot anytime soon.
The pilot script by Allan Heinberg (“The OC,” “Grey’s Anatomy”) is still being written, according to Deadline, so now the series – if it goes forward at all – likely won’t turn up until the 2014-15 season.
David E. Kelley wrote a separate Wonder Woman project a couple seasons ago that did go to pilot at NBC but never found its way to series.
Another who tried to bring to screens a live-action Wonder Woman was a pre-“Avengers” Joss Whedon, who was hired in 2006 to write a big-screen version he intended to direct. By 2007, however, Whedon and Warner Bros. had parted ways on the project.
