I am – Hercules!!

Eleven years after UPN’s cancellation of “Roswell,” successor network The CW has greenlit to pilot “Oxygen,” the tale of a teen girl who strikes up a romance with an extraterrestrial boy newly enrolled at her high school.

The boy is among eight aliens being integrated into a suburban high school following a decade in an internment camp, so the project smacks a bit of “Alien Nation” and “District 9” as well.

The project is the brainchild of writer-producer Meredith Averill (“Samurai Girl,” “Happy Town,” “The Good Wife” and the American version of “Life On Mars”).

Producers on the project include Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg, the showrunners behind the widely reviled “October Road” and “Happy Town” and the screenwriters behind the Brad Bird’s widely acclaimed “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.”
