ABC Family says of tonight’s hilarious and heartwarming “You Wanna See Something?” the first new “Bunheads” since August:

It's been several months since the "Nutcracker" fiasco, where Michelle (Tony Award®-winner Sutton Foster) accidentally maced the young performers of Paradise Dance Academy. Now she's crashing on her friend's couch and working as a dancer for a small-time magician in Henderson, NV. Meanwhile, in Paradise, the dance studio is closed down, leaving the students to keep busy on their own. Ginny has taken over her mother's real estate business; Melanie has been caring for her grandpa; and Boo is pulling her hair out taking care of her little brother while her pregnant mother is on bedrest. After a summer at Joffrey, Sasha returns but refuses to head back home, instead hiding out with friends.

What ABC Family is not telling you about this installment? The magician employing Michelle is played by someone who appeared in 13 episodes of “Gilmore Girls.” Also? Bjork teaser. A Duckie reference from a Hughes vet. And lots of great jokes about Talia’s less-than-boyish boyfriend.

(In next week’s equally excellent we learn the role of Truly’s sister has been assigned to someone who appeared in 127 episodes of “Gilmore Girls.”)
