Football & Loads Of Repeats!!
Herc’s Sunday TV Talkback!!
NBC has Seattle dealing with San Francisco, but this might be a good Sunday for football non-fans to catch up with “Girls” and “Enlightened” on HBO On Demand or watch “Drive” on Netflix.
Mostly this post exists for those curious as to how the season finales of “Survivor,” “Dexter” and “Homeland” (and the Newtown episode of “60 Minutes”) did in the ratings last Sunday:

There are at least two non-repeats. Nothing says Christmas Eve's Eve than Seth MacFarlane.
-
San Diego @ NY Jets is a 1pm game, so it will be on CBS. The NBC game of the week is San Fransisco @ Seattle at 8:30pm. Not that anyone should care about either game lol.

Still hoping for 1 - just ONE - Saints game on my digiOTA Canadian channel
by tangcameo
They haven't played a Sunday morning Saints game ALL season. They've played every other team BUT them.
-
Suprised Homeland finished down. I assume them going all "24" on the credibility of the storylines hurt it. I didn't like the new direction, but I thought the finale was solid. Hopefully this will signify a return to more grounded plots. Granted they did stretch the credibility of the plots a bit in the finale. As for Dexter, they hit a new high in terms of ratings for Showtime. I wonder if they are rethinking next season as the last for Dexter. Granted, they have already ran out of credible ways for Dexter to keep on killing and not be outed. This season was better than last, but still not returned to its glory years of seasons 1-4. Since next season is the last, I would assume we will see Dexter's world unravel over the course of that season.

Didn't they pull new FG and AD for now because of last week?
by tangcameo
I think all that was left until 2013 were the Christmas episodes and those had unknowingly badly timed kid jokes in them.
-
Was pretty good this season alot better than the last two seasons. I'm glad that they didn't just have one big bad this season. I think that helped a little. I'm surprised to see that it got a better rating than Homeland.
-
. . . of course it was better than last season. How could it NOT be? But it's too little too late for me. Yeah, I'll watch til the end, but the show is just ridiculous compared to the building. Dude could break into the Pentagon and find exactly what he needs in 2 minutes on his lunch break. AND he could probably kill someone at half-court in a Heat game and not get caught.
-
I'm not even on my phone . . . Sheesh.
-
This as been a rough season for me but hopefully my Boys make the Playoffs DALLAS ALL DAY!

I swear I am the only dude on this planet who could care less about football ...
by Judge Briggs
It's so fucking boring to watch. So many stops that are accompanied by commercials.
-
It's the only game where 5 minutes can become an hour of sheer boredom. To me, it's just a ton of morons cheering for overpaid idiots to run around and throw a ball. It cracks me up when assholes talk about my team this and my team that. Fuckers, you're not on the team and the team could give a shit less! Losers.
-
Bunch of guys in tight little uniforms, patting each other on the ass, huddling up together, tackling each other and rolling around on the soft supple astroturf....I dont know. Seems kind of gay to me...not that theres anything wrong with that!!!
-
He single-handedly won me my Fantasy league. I hope he gets league MVP

A bunch of morons bitching about over-paid writers/producers/actors and that cracks me up when assholes whine and bitch and moan and claim they could do better while nobody in the industry could give a shit less! Losers. Aaron Rodgers: future hall of famer

jobacca said: Bunch of guys in tight little uniforms, patting each other on the ass, huddling up together, tackling each other and rolling around on the soft supple astroturf.... ========================== and what goes on here? bunch of guys sitting in front of their computers bashing shit before you've seen anything to bash about but you do it all together, patting yourselves on the backs for ripping on shit thinking you're being so witty when really you're just in a bubble where whining about entertainment is the cool thing to do, and you do this all week long instead of sitting on the couch for three hours once a week and watching talented people play a great game. Posting on these talkbacks is far, far, far gayer than watching football and you know it just like the rest of the country does. being a football fan is way more common and normal than doing what you all do here.

Heck, I'm Canadian and I don't give a flying fig about hockey!
by tangcameo
And I actually know one of the living legends of the sport and I still would rather watch football or baseball than sit through a hockey game. I think its the combined fact that I HATE winter and skating.

I love American Football! Also, cartoons and Game of Thrones.

Room for us all.

...i think you misunderstood, football is certainly more socially acceptable than bitching on a talkback, but football is still more homo erotically charged. hence "football is gayer"
-
Go to a football game (on any level) and stand on the sidelines and watch how hard those guys hit each other and tell me what goes on on the field is homo-erotically charged. Those guys are tough as hell and football is violent. Guys beat the hell out of each other, they're not out there hugging each other--they're trying to beat the shit out of each other and they do. We'd be in the hospital for a week if we had to take one of the twenty five hits a running back takes every game. Bottom line is anyone who genuinely believes playing football is gay has serious sexual insecurity issues and is compensating for those issues.
-
The NFL on NBC uses what is called flex scheduling. That means NFL can substitute a game that it deems to be better than the originally scheduled one. Instead of the Chargers and Jets, both with 6 wins and 9 losses, the game has been changed to one where both teams have winning records, 10-3 49ers vs. 9-5 Seahawks.

watching geeks complain about football being gay cracks me up
by jsfithaca
i don't usually watch football but i don't get how you could actually hate it and find it boring. drive is an amazing movie. i might actually try to catch up on girls before the new season. see if its as good/bad as people say.
-
At least the night isn't a total waste
-
NEEERRRDDDSS!!!! Now take 5 and go shower with each other...long and hard. Make sure the cameras are rolling and the reporters are there. Hut Hut!!
-
I can't believe I'm even dignifying your comments with a response, but think about this for a second: I TOTALLY get that some people find football dumb, and that's fine. There's a lot of people who don't give a shit about sports and honestly I couldn't care less. What I do find funny and ridiculous is someone thinking football is gay. That says WAY more about you than it does about sports fans and especially the non-sports fans, because even those non-sports fans find nothing gay about the sport. Again, all you're doing is showing your sexual insecurity and you're compensating, bottom line.

What is a "football non-fan?" That grouping of words do not make sense to me.
by Just_Some_Guy
Either you are a football fan, or you are not an American.

Love that my Walmart jump street dates once in a while. (It's the Bridgeview, IL location if anyone's interested.)

Vikings Bengals Epic showdown not to be missed! Biggest ratings in the history of television.

You said : ... watch how hard those guys hit each other .... Guys beat the hell out of each other, they're not out there hugging each other--they're trying to beat the shit out of each other and they do ... Funny, you've just described gay sex perfectly.
