'Elementary' is intelligent, well acted, and entertaining.
by Mr. Voodoo Potato Head
'Scandal' is vapid and boring. Of COURSE it gets better ratings.
-
My only problem is the huge difference in writing quality between the character scenes and the 'mystery of the week'. Great character writing, the mysteries and puzzles seem a little generic from time to time.

It's always Sunny is still good, and yes, The League needs love. I discovered it far too late.

Just because the NBC comedies aren't on doesn't mean there's nothing to enjoy tonight. And Last Resort is awesome. Sad its gonna die.

Sherlock is vastly superior, but then they're only putting out 3 episodes a year.

Different canon, but there's room for both.

http://www.deadline.com/2012/12/2013-golden-globes-nikki’s-annual-censure/ If you give a shit about the Golden Globes, you haven't done your research. Stick with the awards voted on by working critics.
-
They are airing new episodes in February, with a new episode on January 31st, then a new episode on Feb 3rd after the Super Bowl, and another new episode on Feb 7th. Lucy Liu said this today on The Talk. Filming was temporarily delayed for a few weeks due to Hurricane Sandy, but nothing detrimental or major enough to shorten the season or anything like that. Also count me as another fan. They are in fact airing a total of 24 episodes this season and there's a rumor that episodes 23 and 24 will be a 2-parter that will introduce Moriarty to the series for season 2.

Oh and even though Herc has yet to post about the death of the great Larry Hagman, I fully agree with him about the Golden Globes
by Deaft0ne
An utter horseshit excuse for an awards ceremony, and nothing but a dinner party for all the Hollywood fucks to show off their stupid dresses and so on.

Bernadette (Melissa Rauch)...Good God...she was hot tonight in that red dress

I worship the name of Sherlock Holmes, and I did give Elementary a fair chance. It's ABYSMAL.
by TheSeeker7
I mean, I can see the people who are already a fan of most of CBS' procedural shows loving it, because it's just another one of those. But with little truly incoming with Sherlock Holmes besides the name.
-
Dec. 13, 2012, 10:49 p.m. CST
"but with little truly IN COMMON with Sherlock Holmes..." that should've read
by TheSeeker7
Seriously, I can't even begin to comprehend how someone who counts themselves a true fan of the character of SH could like Elementary.
-
Dec. 13, 2012, 10:51 p.m. CST
and on BBT, is Bernadette the blonde with the high, squeaky voice?
by TheSeeker7
That's just beyond ridiculous. Hell, Megan Mullally put on a high pitched funny voice back in Will & Grace, and it still wasn't anywhere near what this chick does. It's incredibly annoying, to say nothing of it having any comedic value. But then, I don't know how someone watches BBT as it is. It's not too much better than the likes of 2.5 Men. The most vapid, lame, lowest common denominator "comedy" on TV.
-
so many tweests! and i didnt see most of them coming. this show is getting better and better, such a shame its canceled. also it seems like each year the golden globes try to one-up themselves with outragoues snubs. I mean no mad men, really? and the fact it took breaking bad this long to get nominated (when american horror story was nominated last year) just makes them so, so irrelevant.
-
I realize he's supposed to be, but he succeeded, not in a good way. Anyway, the thinking is that the 7th season of Burn will be its last. It was getting too rote, but they've gotten away from that lately. And offense to Cagney, but her character was better in smaller doses. Waah waah waah. Michael Michael Michael. I've liked most of Shawn Ryan's stuff, but Last Resort has not gelled for me. I tried. Too disjointed, and too much stuff being thrown against the wall, and some of it only peripherally connected. If the island people weren't necessary to use as a plot device now and again, they could be discarded completely and wouldn't be missed. I suppose if it was given more episodes, it might have all come together to mean something, but at this point, it's a bunch of ingredients without a recipe.

Comicsniper is correct. The League is the funniest thing on Thursday nights
by mongo126
...and yet pulls in 10% of the horrible audience that Jon Cryer gets. Horrible.
-
I love how Raj went on the girls night out and they tried to get him a date and then late he and Amy had a bonding moment. The guys D & D game wuith the Christmas twist was good also.
-
if the names of the main characters weren't Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson. The show is actually fairly entertaining and the stars have great chemistry. But as a modern retelling of Arthur Conan Doyle it utterly fails.
-
ELEMENTARY us a joke...watched 2 episodes and bailed. Really folks, you're enjoying this? LAST RESORT, however, is another story. Last weeks episode was one of the most genuinely suspenseful TV episodes I've seen in some time. Looking forward to this week's show. A shame this gets cancelled while generic junk such as REVOLUTION thrives.
-
Elementary is a joke? I guess the punchline must be that you like Last Resort, barely one rung higher on the generic junk ladder!

Wouldn't call it the best cop show, but I've always enjoyed Flashpoint
by jim
Never really spent too much time on extraneous events. Well paced show where each episode had events constantly moving with little down time. A few cheesy moments in the finale, but all in all, a good wrap up of the series.

as Papa Keith Mars. But, with Bell being impregnated, the VM movie's slim chance hasn't gotten any better.

dammit. cant stand that new series she's on. pity as i miss her as vm
