No more Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day! We go in! We kill! We kill!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
Don’t say the BTS column doesn’t provide you with enough T&A! I’ve featured Mathilda May in all her glory on the set of Lifeforce (fulfilling the “T” portion) and now I have some “A” for you!
Sadly, the “A” I have for you is a mirror shot of Vernon Wells’ bare bum while he’s being made up as Wez in George Miller’s The Road Warrior (or Mad Max 2 if you want to be a purist about it).

YAY for MAD MAX 2/THE ROAD WARRIOR BTS footage!

...along with Die Hard. The final car chase scene is a fucking masterclass in practical suspense. Getting ahold of an uncut version of Mad Max 2 is a real bitch, though. Most copies are the U.S. R-rated version, even abroad. The blu-ray has the violence restored but is missing a scene of Papagallo's dialogue. I recently procured the uncut Japanese laserdisc but the fucker's 4:3 and I don't even have a laserdisc player, heh. There's also an extremely rare broadcast television version with tons of alternate footage floating around the internet. It's an utter disgrace that a movie as amazing as this hasn't been given the bells and whistles treatment on DVD or blu-ray.

Although he says just a few words in this pitch-perfect action movie his physical presence is really menacing. On the super-asshole-getting-personal-villains scale he ranks on the same level as Clarence Bodicker from Robocop and Richter from Total Recall. Awesome guy!

I still can't believe that people weren't killed doing the car stunts for this flick - just flat out, balls to the wall action. Today, it'd be all CGI crap. Great pic of the day.

You said it. In a way, Mad Max 2 ruined me for life when it comes to car chases. Even during the spectacular Matrix Reloaded chase, I never felt an ounce of the thrill I felt (and still feel) when watching Mad Max 2 because it seemed so fake.

Love the unflinching rawness of this movie. It did inspire a generation of filmmakers for it's naturalistic and innovative camerawork. But for the most part, an improvement on such a lacklustre first instalment. I might still only be the only one who finds part 3 fun: boasting an awesome Maurice Jarre score, and a hammy, yet inept performance by Miss Turner. I look forward to Tom Hardy's portrayal, even though i would gladly accept an ageing Mad Max from Gibbo anyday of the week.

Why the gripe for his cameo in Weird Science? I thought it was dumb *and* great and took absolutely nothing away from Road Warrior. Plus, Kelly LeBrock. Nuff said.

I actually saw a hilarious avatar tag on an online post modeled after Obama's 'HOPE' poster that showed a picture of The Humongous (mask and all) and the tagline said 'WALK AWAY' gotta say that there's tons of undiscovered hilarity out in internet land...that simple little avatar icon had me laughing out loud and remembering it weeks later. cheers to whoever thought of it!
