EMILY OWENS, M.D.
2012-2013
MOB DOCTOR
2012-2013
The latest “Grey’s Anatomy” rip-offs are done.
The CW is pulling the plug on “Emily Owens, M.D.” and Fox is not going beyond its 13-episode order for “Mob Doctor.”
Both lady-doctor series expect to see all of their respective 13-episode orders aired.
“Emily” has seven unaired episodes in the can. “Mob Doctor” is burning off its final four episodes in the space of 10 days: Saturday, Dec. 29; Monday, Dec. 31; Saturday, Jan. 5; and Monday, Jan. 7.
Even “Grey’s Anatomy” mastermind Shonda Rhimes has had difficulty ripping off “Grey’s”: low-rated spinoff “Private Practice” rarely approached “Grey’s” success and will also end its run early next year.

These shows were both stellar depictions of women defecating on television. I've never seen such daring feces spatter on public display before. Way to lack balls, you pussy television executives.

I was kinda upset that they were rebooting but the new guy is way better in the role then Justin Guarini or whatever his name was

It only lasted 2 episodes on my TV. Emily Owens has kind of grown on me. Not distraught that it's cancelled, but it's been a decent diversion. Loved the line on Arrow last night "we could watch Cop Docs - it's about doctors who fight crime at night when they aren't sleeping with one another". It's funny because we all know it's coming.

I then forgot where the remote was and from what I could gather, all it seemed to be about is Michael "Woman-Beater" Rapaport trying to have William Forsythe killed the entire episode and Forsythe was mad about it and the doctor chick was stuck in the middle and there was a lot of talking in warehouses. Zero surprise that this shit got shitcanned. R.I.P. Larry Hagman

That show had such a deep concept. I thought it would have challenged the Simpsons for longevity. Good-night, sweet princess! I will always fondly remember seeing your ridiculous commercials a thousand times at the beginning of the football season.

but they cancelled it. Yeah, it was a cop show, but it was starting to move beyond that by the end of its only season. And does anyone really read the 'content' here anymore? Would any Hagman obit that appeared do him any justice? This site has been on cruise control for quite a while, but it's still fun to come read the TBs and shoot some shit.

I agree, Chicago Code was good for what it was. There was a lot of room for it to develop in interesting ways. Fox lost it big with this one (and Firefly).

...that's, like, the tenth time I've seen posts from you about Larry Goddamned Hagman. You want a eulogy so fucking badly, WRITE ONE. God almighty.

If you care so much, YOU write the tribute and send it in. It's clear they don't give a shit about an actor from a shitty melodramatic show. Move it on.

I guess that explains why they're already canceled.

WHEN THE FUCK IS THE CW GOING TO WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT THEIR AUDIENCE IS NOT TEEN GIRLS WHO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR SHOWS BUT FANSBOYS WHO LIKE GENRE FARE LIKE SMALLVILLE AND ARROW?!?!
by R Howell
Seriously, Gossip Girl has been on the "network" for 5-7 years, AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF THEIR WORST PERFORMING SHOWS! Yet the sheer amount of attention made by the network and to a much lesser but proportionally substantial degree by the media, you would think it was one of America's most watch and beloved shows in history! Why they haven't tired to bring back a new BUffy-verse show (or ANYTHING by Joss Whendon) or a new DC comic show that's ACTUALLY like the comic and NOT ANOTHER CW-type borefest like the soap-operaish "Arrow" (which has a TON of potenial that it is being bizzarely blown in a retarded attmept to emulate "The Dark Knight" for no good reason). Hell, a new Star Trek would INSTANTLY be their top rated show, but instead they are gearing up to put on ANOTHER girly rip-off of a more successful network show like Emily Owens. Of all the networks I would like to run, it would be the CW, mostly because NO ONE CARES about them so my simple solutions would GUARENTEE vastly improved ratings to make everyone happy. FUCK YOU, COCK-WRANGLERS!!!

I knew Mob Doctor would flop. Why don't they ever ask me before they make decisions like this?
by Cotton_Mcknight
They touted it heavily last year as House was winding down. I guess they thought that it would appeal to the same audience. It didn't. It's a stupid idea- it kind of sounded like a gritty "Royal Pains". Whether or not it actually was that really isn't the issue- that's the impression I got, so I was completely uninterested. The Emily show is funny- they keep showing ads for it during Supernatural, making it sound like the most critically acclaimed show that has ever been on the CW.

I'm not the one that needs to write an obit for the great Larry Hagman. But herc or someone else on here sure as shit needs to. For a website that is so fixated on posting bullshit 90% of the time, while willfully neglecting to post an obit on one of, if not the most iconic television actors of all time is just repugnant and abhorrent. It seriously makes no fucking sense whatsoever in any capacity why it's still not done. You can talk shit and hem and haw all you want but the writers of this site have seriously shit the bed when it comes to Larry Hagman. R.I.P. Larry Hagman

to any of these female-centric shows. Heck, to the male-centric ones. Why did they have to cancel that?? And for the record, Justin Hartley was NOT a better Ollie Queen than Amell. These are two very different interpretations of the character with major tonal and stylistic differences. His portrayal of Queen would have been absolutely campy and silly on a show like Arrow. It's not a Smallville spinoff (thank god). Get over it!

I hear ya mate. This is a site where a 40 year old man will cry onto his keyboard while he laments the passing of the clapperboard loader from a 1951 film nobody had ever heard of - he will post eighteen paragraphs filled to the brim with spelling mistakes, sentences that just end and all kinds of grammatical oddities regarding how his life was shaped by this now deceased artiste. This silence concerning the death of Larry Hagman is shameful and smacks of a wilfull 'fuck you' to the site's readers calling for a mark of respect towards an icon of show business. Maybe the kids that frequent this site don't know who Hagman was or the depth of his contribution to popular culture. All things come around again, however, and I'm sure in thirty years time when your 'icons' like the gangnam guy or the two cups one shit(whatever)girls die, I'm sure you'll be calling for memorials for THEM too. I am just glad I grew up in a time when I looked to TALENT in entertainment and not the favour du jour on YouTube. As for the idiots in charge here, shame on you all.
-
Harry would most likely have met, or even grown up around, those obscure, all-but-unknown people you are referring to. Generally the obits are very personal - either written by someone who knew the person in question, or were influenced by them in some way. Being critical of who has gotten obituaries on this site is crass and smacks of a wilfull 'fuck you' to the deceased, simply because they weren't an icon of show business. Often those being remembered here are largely ignored by the mainstream media because they weren't "famous enough". If someone wants to write about their deceased friend or idol, why would you complain about that? However, that doesn't excuse those around here ignoring the passing of the iconic Larry Hagman. Putting aside starring in the classic "I Dream of Jeannie", or his role as J.R. Ewing (the template for the perfect TV villain for the past 35 years), the man has been working in television since the early days. Very few actors still active today could have boasted a more impressive pedigree in that regard. His career is a study in the history of television over the past 55 years.

I am almost 35 years old and I grew up watching Dallas with my Mom during it's original run. J.R. Ewing as played by Hagman was one of the most fascinating asshole villains you loved to hate ever on a tv show. I also watched reruns of I Dream of Jeannie as well and he was great on that too. PSY and any other fuckwit from YouTube like that Chocolate Rain jackass are not and never will be anything even close to someone I admire at all. The only person on YouTube that I could even say has some talent and is cute and can be creative and amusing is HappySlip. I have had a few Filipina gfs in the past and the way she makes fun of her 'Pamily' is hilarious if you have experienced being around other Filipinos. I entirely agree with you about Harry crying over the death of a makeup assistant from The Wolfman or other such rubbish. No one gives a fuck about that and while it's fine to mention the death of people so obscure on here, it does not need to be a TL;DR wall of text that only a few people are going to read. This is even more troubling to know when in contrast they still have not put up any sort of rememberance for Hagman. Defending mediocrity is a dangerous thing and that's what any apologist posting on here is doing. WRITE A FUCKING HAGMAN OBIT herc OR SOMEONE.
