Has been very good this season. I hope Penner wins...he has been awesome this season and managed to survive in spite of the tools who have wanted him gone. Abi is a moron and even though she has a great ass thats not enough...she's an ignorant airhead and bad but not in a so bad I like her way like past villains, ie. Russell Hantz. Denise has been good as well and is the strongest female by far in awhile if she were to win I wouldn't mind that.

Told you Penner Screwed up Royally Last Week

    by tailhook

He tried to scramble to cover for the mistake this week, but it was simply too late. No way would Skupin/Lisa give up the numbers once they had them. Had Penner and Carter committed to Lisa/Mike, its pretty much a slam dunk for him to hit final 4 and either Penner or Carter walks with the million. Talk about a million dollar mistake. He's going to look back on last week's episode and cringe at how close he was had he simply read the lay of the land proper. Right now this game is Malcolm's to lose as Denise has been ratcheting up her unlikeability quoutient with the Tandang Jury. As per Skupin/Lisa, I think they're honestly resigned to having no chance in hell of winning, so they're going as far as they can. Right now their only shot at all is if Denise is there with them as she has pretty much been on autopilot since the merge, and can't get Abi out from underneath her skin like Malcolm can.

    Malcolm said it best

    by jim

Abi is the most self-unaware person ever. Not much of a strategist either. Her plan to stay in the game is pretend she got a clue to an idol? And cozy up to Malcolm? She should be telling everyone they can't win against Malcolm; that with her around he will feel safe and in one blindside vote they can get him and his idol out of the game, making it a more even playing field for those left (or, if she's really good, convincing each individual she talks to that, with Malcolm gone, they are the most likely to win the game). She should also be reminding everyone how disliked she is by most everyone, making her the perfect person to sit next to at the final tribal council.

    Awesome Supernatural - ridicolous flashbacks

    by David Cloverfield

High concept, stupid fun episode - localized bubbles, where the world behaves according cartoon physics. Great, classic Supernatural idea, fun script, great all around Then, the actors basically turn to the camera "And now something for the girls watching!" and we have minutes of terribly directed, boring ass soap opera melodrama. A song and dance routine cut into the middle of Lincoln would be a better executed shift in tone. What were they thinking?

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 1:25 p.m. CST

@muwarriorsfan: only if you're an idiot

    by tailhook

Smart Play? Really. So lets see.. you go from a situation where you're up 4-2 in the numbers to one where you're at best 3-3. But you've allready pissed off Malcolm and no longer have his trust, so likely its 2-4. Once they made the deal, they were commited to the path they took. Penner had his shot and muffed it. They didn't want to go with Malcolm/Denise, he was their first choice... but they took the deal that was available. Deviating from that and losing the numbers is the dumbest thing they ever could have done. Right now, their only chance in hell of either of them winning this game is if Malcolm loses final 4 immunity(not unheard of, HI OZZY), and Denise is sitting there. They had the choice of Denise or Penner as their third and Penner punted. Right now they're easily playing the most solid game of anyone out there.

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 1:49 p.m. CST

I really don't get why Penner didn't jump at that deal

    by jim

With Skupin sitting beside him at the end it would do a lot to negate the "we don't want a returning player to win" bias. People might be more willing to give it to a returning player if 2 of the 3 at the end were returnees. Lisa's played a good game but her history will come out eventually and the fact that she didn't disclose that with those on the jury could work against her. Penner could have used that against her, although it could have back-fired on him. By the way, it did seem like Probst was trying to get her to out herself last night. I can only assume Penner's plan was to go to the end with Abi and Carter, or Abi & Skupin, or Carter and Skupin. Either way, I guess he didn't commit because he was thinking of jury votes and already had a plan worked out where he'd have to flip on either Lisa or Skupin, or both. I also think Penner screwed up (although it doesn't matter to him now) when he yelled out "Denise" when he went to vote. It let Malcolm know who the target was between the two of them, and that is wasn't him. So no need to play the idol. I did wonder, if he hadn't said that, if Malcolm might have played it (or was he so confident in his alliance he never considered he'd need it?).

Love Wed TV! Survivor, Arrow, AHS:A

    by Lukes Lost Hand

As much as Abi needs to go Lisa needs to be slapped on her way out of the game for even being there. If I hear her say one more FUCKING time how this game is to big for her, that's she's just not suited for this, I'm gonna reach through the TV and teach her the Facts Of My Foot in Her Ass! Loving Arrow but the show is best when they ramp up the action and tone down the soap aspects. Last nights episode was pretty sudsy. AHS is sick, disturbing, and surreal. Good stuff!

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 3:37 p.m. CST

    @bigjim: pretty much

    by tailhook

He was basically trying to play both halves against the middle and stick week-to-week. He thought he had made it 6 against 2, but the real power structure at that point was 2-2-2-2. Malcolm/Lisa/Skupin all realized this and made sure to secure 4 strong votes(Lisa/Skupin originally wanted Penner/Carter) for endgame while then destabilizing the pair of Abi and Pete. Then the structure became 3-4 and whoever had the 4 would be in the strong position. And no, everybody knew it was going to be Denise, the only question at hand was whether Skupin would flip.. and really that was just a red herring. The moment Pete exited, the die was cast and the 4 were set. Giving up the numbers to go back to a 3-3 at best would have been stupid and simply caused blowback.

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 3:42 p.m. CST

    As per Abi or Carter

    by tailhook

Abi goes as soon as its possible to get her out. You don't want anyone who has 3 built-in Jury votes sitting next to you at FTC. And anyone who is gullible enough to believe her on the HII deserves to lose.

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 4:29 p.m. CST

Who would be Abi's 3rd built-in jury vote?

    by jim

Pete & Artis I can see (but I don't see either as an absolute) RC? No way Jeff? Maybe, but Abi's part of the group that voted him out and he's been nothing if not bitter about that. Penner? I doubt it. He may have wanted Malcolm and Denise out but I believe that's got to do with them being harder to beat. He said if either one gets to the end, they win. I don't think it was simply scrambling; he's aware each one has a good shot at winning. Put either one up against Abi and I am certain she wouldn't be getting his vote. As for the remaining players, doubtful any of them would automatically vote for her over anyone else left in the game. Plus, I have to think most, if not all of them, would be resentful of her getting to the end over them.

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 4:39 p.m. CST

    @bigjim: ya sorry, my bad

    by tailhook

Still.. 2 built-in Jury votes is just as dangerous. Especially if she makes it to FTC at this point. The whole, we had her down, but she wasn't out and got back up schtick could play well. As per Pete and Artis, you should watch the Ponderosa videos and live after show, they were pretty tight with Abi. And both Lisa and Skupin both have way too much blood and baggage on their hands. Lisa's secret life as a child star and Skupin as a returning player and the primary reason Tandang had their back broke. Right now their best bet is to simply have Denise, who is not well-liked and has coasted from middle to end-game, sitting there at the final 3 with them. If Malcolm wins Final 4 Immunity, its all really a moot point. He will have very little chance of not winning the game. But thats the chance they took when Lisa/Skupin agreed to the deal.

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 4:47 p.m. CST

    @ tailhook

    by jim

It wouldn't have been 3-3 if Skupin had flipped. Abi-Carter-Penner voted Denise. Had Skupin decided he had a better chance in that alliance he could have made it 4 for Denise, 3 for Penner. That would make it Abi-Carter-Penner-Skupin vs Lisa-Malcolm (4-2). After that, depending on who wins immunity, they split the vote 2 for Lisa, 2 for Malcolm, possibly flush the idol, and in the revote either vote out Lisa or Malcolm. If Malcolm was the one to go he could then have reunited with Lisa, taking out Penner or Carter (I really don't think Abi's a threat at the end to win). Hard to say if that move would have won him more jury votes than it could have lost him. That's gotta be partly what he was thinking.

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 5:01 p.m. CST

In a way Abi reminds me of Amanda

    by jim

Gets to the final tribal council twice, and twice loses it (at least partly) because she has trouble expressing herself and winning over the jury with words. Abi is confrontational, defensive, self-unaware (as Malcolm put it), petulant, and blunt to a fault. Her answering question and having to defend herself could actually lose her votes.

  • Nov. 29, 2012, 6:43 p.m. CST

    by tailhook

You seem to forget how tight Lisa-Mike are. As in.. she moved heaven and earth to save his ass the week Jeff Kent went home. At the same time, she has the child actor baggage to deal with at any FTC. In no way do I believe that if Skupin flipped that you would have an Abi-Carter-Penner-Skupin alliance. An alliance with Abi? Really? He allready said he can't trust those who won't trust him. He gave Penner the first choice and Penner didn't trust them enough to take it. Now he is to be trusted? Sorry.. that ship sailed. All flipping does is take a pretty straightforward burndown situation(Penner/Carter/Abi based on who wins indiv immunity) and throws caution to the wind for no good reason. Right now their strategy is fairly clear. Beat Malcolm at Final 4 immunity and go heads up with Denise and hope for the best at FTC.

One thing I will say about Penner...

    by tailhook

This season has clearly shown he never really had a very good game or a very good grasp on the game. He's a nice enough guy, and he can find ways to survive.. but alliance building and breaking down the power structure week-to-week simply isn't his thing. Even he admitted as much in a 'Day After' clip on the survivor website. Strategy and what not really isn't his thing. He comes off as smarter than he actually is. What really typifies this is the Live After Show where he doesn't understand Lisa's strategy. I mean, its fairly clear that she's making solid strategic moves to put herself in the strong position, while using the honesty card to cover for how good she actually is at the game. Its not her fault that her gift of a million dollars he turned down, and that he claims any such alliance would have been a lie only shows he made the one amateur mistake most people commit on that show, they make things personal. She voted for him twice, so what? Look at your situation and what she's offering, being bitter about her handing you a million dollars and being too stupid to take it is just silly. But hey, it is what it is.
