I wonder how SOA will continue to prove it is better than Mad Men

This site sucks so much Breaking Bad and Walking Dead dick
by georgecauldron
yet mentions Dancing with the Stars before mentioning Sons of Anarchy. For shame.

I wonder how people who like SOA better than mad men still make me laugh
by jsfithaca
it just never gets old. anyways i don't see how they get out of this season without another huge cop-out. if sutter had the balls to kill clay he would have done so already. i actually really liked last season, but if things are wrapped up as nicely this season as they did last season it will be eye rolling

Draper ftw.

Question for the MM fans: how do you pass the time waiting for the critics to tell you what to like?
by Uncle Pooky
-
Mad Men and SOA are totally different shows for totally different audiences. its like comparing pizza to a burrito, they're both great, for totally different reasons
-
tell us what you like about the show, instead of how dumb we are for liking something totally different
-
It was very convincing pooky
-
I love you Mae Whitman, but...why?
-
It's just not necessarily for "us". I've never heard someone who watches say a bad thing about ti tho.
-
Daniel Tosh is a terrible person
-
Does that make me a terrible person?
-
sure its not hilarious but when theres nothing else on, its entertaining. however, as far as tosh goes his standup is hialrious. way better than his show, his first special completely serious is on netflix, its really funny
-
I am excitement!! Go Shawn and Derek!! (Here is my man card.)
-
Remind me why we still don't have a talkback.
-
Probably made the difference in the end.
-
saying soa is better than mad men makes me so mad, but so stupid I have to laugh. One show is about 60s ad execs and another bikes in present day, apples and oranges. Unlike breaking bad soa will give me 13 new shows for the next few years. I have only seen the pilot for mad men, and I liked it but a more adult serious show "other cigarettes give you cancer, lucky strikes are toasted. SOA is just violent soap opera fun. Boardwalk Empire is my favorite show, followed by walking dead, breaking bad, ahhhh damn Game of Thrones is the best show on tv, then fringe, homeland, soa and true blood. I forgot something, too much good tv keeping me glued all year long. I still haven't watched Dexter much. I need more free time and big bag of grass, I am glued. I hope Vegas is good and stays on. A period gangster drama is all for me. Probably why the ratings are low, I'm not home when it is on.

A Rambling, Coke-Addled Late Night Post If I've Ever Seen One Phil Jackson

just not as great as Boardwalk or Dead, Charlie Hunan and Ron Pearlman make the show awesome. Ron Pearman is the fucking man. Ever jackass wannabe biker I know watches sons but has never seen breaking bad. My main beef with sons isn't even the fault of the show. Your not a biker because you have a soa t shirt on, and why would you want to be one, Jax's life is terrible on the show. rant done
-
The longer it drags on, the more egregiously heinous shit these people have to do to survive. And the more I start to hate them. There's so much baggage at this point on pretty much all of the characters that I'm not sure if I can still like any of them. The good news is that it looks like Sutter is unwilling to let any of them out of this alive, so, it looks like I might be enjoying a little schadenfreude once it's all over. Even on The Shield, with all the douchebagery that went on with the Strike Team, I still wanted to see Vic, Shane, and Ronnie make it out alive, unharmed, and free. I even felt bad for the Shane and Ronnie. Even in the last episode. But the characters on SoA...who do we have left that we can honestly still like? Unser? Maybe Chibs?
-
It's douchebaggery. Yay for edit buttons! We've only been asking for them for, I don't know, ten fucking years now. Maybe if Harry could hire a webdev who knows the difference between his asshole and a hole in the ground...
-
i thought sutter was going to do another big twist that keeps clay alive like season 4, but the reason was as simple as bobby voting no. that was a much better route and i think it worked

rhuragh--I hear ya, but I still love the show. As far as likable characters...how about Bobby?
by art123guy
BTW, since it's obvious that Gemma isn't going to Belfast, my guess is the other open seat will be filled by Tig as he'll get away from Jax and Pope somehow. This'll set up next season's Clay MC and SAMCRO feud. BTW, if you woulda told me the annoying asshole cabbie in all those MTV commercials from the 90's would turn out to be an awesome actor, I'd never have believed you. Donal Logue is just plain incredible. R.I.P. Terriers
-
That show makes me so happy. It truly delights me. Happy and delighted in a first and second season "Parks and Rec" way. But even more so, as the craft is so off kilter from any other sitcom I have ever seen. Like "Parks" the writers and actors are all on the exact same page (I'm guessing there is a lot of improv going on) and that page is fluorescent and shaped like an octagon.
-
Even though Tig has done some messed up stuff it was all because of lies told by Clay and his loyalty to the club...I'm not liking Jax too much these days, maybe he has got something in mind against Pope, I can't see how he lets Pope get away with kiliing Tigs daughter and having Opie killed. What Jax did to Abel's mom was low-down...Whats the deal with the birth certificates? What info is on them that gives Clay leverage?
-
Never could really get into it. Love SOA though. Although, things are really starting to become unhinged. It will be interesting to see how things play out. And I don't get why Romero and Luis felt the need to hit the Irish during their transaction with Jax. That seemed a bit convoluted.
-
I've forgiven most of what Jax did but what he did to Wendy puts him in piece of shit catagory for life. Let's forgot that she's absolutly right that Jax's armsdealing has repeatdly put his children in danger. But she also managed to do something Jax hasn't and turned her life around. Getting clean, getting a degree what has Jax done except bitch that he can't get out. And after wking so hard to get her life on track for jax to inject her with heoine, well im on team Clay now. At least Clay doesn't try to make himself out as rightous.

vondamage--The birth certificates were in the safe that was stolen. Jax knew this and wanted Gemma to get close to Clay...
by art123guy
...to try to get them. If he gave them to her, it would be proof that he was behind the robberies and could bring it to the club to get Clay kicked out. Clay instead brought it to the table making him seem somewhat regretful of what he did.

i agree on what jax doing to wendy being completely fucked up
by jsfithaca
def made me lose some respect for jax

SOA - Jax can kill Clay now without a MC vote, right? oh - and who spotted Dave Navarro?
by MoneyGrabSequel
By my count here are the Sons that should be killed off. Clay, Tig and Juice. But I bet they form MC Clay (not a rap group!)
-
Nov. 28, 2012, 11:55 a.m. CST
moneygrabsequel--I didn't get that. What Pope told him to do was get someone else to do it. My guess...
by art123guy
...he'll let Sheriff Eli know that Clay was behind the break-ins which got his wife killed. However I think he'll add that Clay planned it all along, thus making the Sheriff want to kill Clay instead of just arrest him. It would seem like Juice would go with Clay, but how will Clay and Tig react when/if they find out Juice's father was black? Despite all the crap Jax put Juice through, he didn't care about it. He also went so far as to say maybe the club rules should be changed so it wouldn't matter what color anyone was.
-
pretty sure clay knows juices dad was black. didnt he say so when he revealed to clay that he was snitching?
-
Nov. 28, 2012, 12:57 p.m. CST
They have nothing against it personally - just a MC law. Besides Clay does know.
by MoneyGrabSequel
And it seems like a few of the (lesser known) SONS are not 100% white anyway - one of those guys looks really Latin and another seems to be straight up Asian.

Any1 else concerned about potential foriegn policy ramifications of jax hooking up Mexican Drug cartels with the chinese triads/hamas?
by l4orion
I rember towards the end of the sopranos a rumor that there was going to be a nuclear explosion.Wonder if they were thinking the wrong show. i could imigine a season after a nuclear explosin and the only survivors are biker gangs.
-
its not that you have to be white its that you cant be black. in season 4, chibs asks juice what it says on his birth certificate, and he says hispanic, and chibs says hes fine
-
Pope just advised jax to kill him, just doesn't know it uet. Which jax will do, but pin it on clay which will send popes death squad after clay; they mentioned a few times this season what happens when pope dies, that wasnt for nothing. Tig will end up going w clay, maybe he doesn't agree w jax's play and tips him off. Anyway, jax doesn't turn over Tig. They telegraphed.this plan when jax mentioned to pope'sright hand guy that he was either loyal, or patient. That guy is waiting in the wings to take over and will go along w jax's plan.

SOA is awesome but it can also be exhausting. **SPOILERS AHEAD**
by Sithtastic
It's so very true. Much like The Shield, characters are dragging around so much baggage and sins, that it's like watching a slow motion trainwreck at this point, meaning you know this ends poorly, but you can't look away. For as much as I wanted Clay to "meet Mr. Mayhem", Bobby was right. Jax will become Clay (or in some instances worse than Clay) the longer he stays at the gavel. And who the hell would have thought Wendy--frickin' Wendy!--would be the voice of reason. As she is no longer really in the club's orbit, I suppose that gives her clarity and Jax's utterly dick move to her shows he really is willing to do anything to protect his family. Anyone catch the irony that Jax actually forced on Wendy what Gemma gave her a "choice" to do to herself in the series pilot? Pretty dark stuff. The thing is, from all indications, Sutter still has two more seasons in him, which tells me it's about to get a lot worse for the sons. Still, I can't look away.
-
I cant believe what Jax did to wendy it seemed so far out of character even for him. he's always been the level headed one. But i think he's havi a psychological break. I mean just look at the circumstances. He's had watched his best friend since childhood been killed in front of his eyes. He sees clay as the man who murdered his father, he had to keep tig alive and work out a deal with pope, so it was anyone of them who could have been killed. Tara might go to jail because she handed otto a crucifix which he used to kill someone. Theyre kid was in a car accident. He found out Juice killed Myles and ratted them out to the feds, (But in all likeliness, juice didnt need to if he just sat up and told them the truth.) And bobby the VP who been Jax's friend for a long time and was an original member abstained from killing clay and i guess he felt betrayed because your abstaining for voting for the man who killed his father??? C;mon son. it'll drive you crazy. I seen this coming a mile away. and last night kinda showed me where Jax is going... it's not a good look..
