Zeppelin On REVOLUTION!! Zooey On FALLON!! New CATFISH, CASTLE, FIVE-0, BONES, BROKE, HOW, VOICE, GOSSIP, 90210, DANCING!! THE LAST MONDAY OF SWEEPS!!
Tonight’s “Revolution” is titled “Kashmir” and features the old Led Zeppelin song. Every movie and TV show ever made could benefit from the use of “Kashmir” and/or “The Immigrant Song,” I believe. NBC says:
Miles and the gang are bound for Monroe's lair - Independence Hall, but their efforts are impeded when they begin to have difficulty separating fantasy from reality. Meanwhile, Danny starts to grow suspicious of Rachel.
Erick Kripke is credited with creating “Revolution,” but I just read somewhere that Kripke’s original pitch was about the aftermath of a decimating worldwide plague. It was J.J. Abrams who came up with the concept of all the cars and refrigerators and phones suddenly no longer working.
A four-month “Revolution” hiatus is almost upon us. Next week brings the last episode until March 25.
"Revolution" hit a new personal low last Monday.
CBS finally pulled the plug on "Partners," which also hit a new low last week:

It was S.M. Stirling who came up with the concept used by Revolution
by billcom6
JJ Abrams and NBC just ripped him off.
-
CBS's fourth highest rated scripted TV show, they should definitely get that off the air for at least 4 months. Nobody will get into the habit of watching any other shows in the meantime...
-
Thanks Puffy.
-
You mean NBC. CBS isn't that stupid.

Revolution doesn't deserve to be on the air. Worst writing ever.

That girl was so stupid that it actually made me angry. How can a person be that stupid? How could her family and friends allow her to be that stupid?

Holy Shit! Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough just destroyed my television!!
by Deceased Fan

Yes. It's moments like that you can only hope some of it is staged. Not just stupid, but dangerous.
-
You got a link to that?? Dude, I really like most JJ stuff, I loved Fuller's Pushing Daisies, and I was never at all into Supernatural; but damn your blatant bitchy agenda here really makes it tough. At least PRETEND to have a modicum of freakin impartiality!! Does all the overhype really help your cause????

What a hottie this girl is...good God

The concept itself of a world suddenly finding itself without power(extents differ) is shared between the two series, but Revolution has been hewing far closer to The Postman(the Kevin Costner movie) than the Dies The Fire series. DtF was mainly a case study in how humanity survives the immediate aftermath of a complete loss of power, while Revolution is more about the remnants of society trying to put itself back together. So things like militias come into play(complete with branding, an 8 in The Postman, a M in Revolution) and rebels advocating a return to the United States and our plucky hero ultimately looking to break and unite both and reform a new United States, hence the r(Evolution) with the blinky R. We can't go back to what we were, so the obvious finale of Revolution will show what we become. But trying to say it rips off Dies the Fire? If you're going to say that only one movie or one series is ever going to have a core concept and the rest are ripoffs then you could only ever have one movie based around a Heist, you could only ever have one movie with a Serial Killer. All the rest are ripoffs, yes?
-
But I keep waiting for it to improve, and it doesn't. I expect it to disappear shortly after coming back. I dont even know why networks develop Sci-fi shows anymore ....they refuse to give them full seasons until they"see how they do", so you always get these audience destroying breaks. Its retarded. Just stop even trying, network fuckwits.

@tailhook...billcom6 is correct, they did rip off Sterling.
by tritium
A setting in a post-collapse or post-apocalypse society is a "core concept", to use your terminology. A setting in a post-collapse society in which all electronics and electrical power have magically ceased to work...is a direct rip-off of S.M. Sterling's oeuvre. And I am not even a fan of Sterling's writing.

so... Juliet just pulled a Jesse on Revolution tonight, with Gus standing right fucking there
by Halibut
Good writing, psh. I'm enthralled. I'm creeping by at 35 on the interstate, witnessing the wreck. I can see the end of the world from here.
-
Aren't soldiers supposed to be decent shooters? Charlie's thick head paid off there. Hardly a scratch after knocking her noggin against the railing. I was waiting for Juliet to detonate the bomb and the screen to go white.

Revolution stayed level at 2.6 damm you America and Zeppelin!
by rakesh patel
no srsly, how did that happen?
-
Danny? What does it say when NBC's promo people can't even be bothered to get the character's name right?
-
so maybe someone can answer this for me: Is it believable that someone can take 5 seconds to look at an under-construction device and tell with absolute certainty that it is a bomb? That he could without a doubt be able to discern the difference between a home-made bomb and a home-made power amplifier? Remember, this is a cobbled-together device that is powered by a magical power-producing pendant (which, I assume, also would have acted as the explosive material). I don't know, maybe for fun back in the day they all used to build both pendant-power amplifiers and pendant-powered bombs so he instantly knows one from the other?

Did the kidnappers know there was a cop in the house before they found the badge? It seemed like that was the first time they knew that. But they shot that other cop for looking at the parked cars. He stops walking for a second when he sees her car and, I assumed, the kidnappers realized he just figured out the wife had lied to him and she was still there, so they shot him. But if they knew that the officer he came looking for was still there why were they so surprised later on when they found her badge? Did Kono have her gun on her of did she also give that to the kid to hold onto in the closet? Also, I'm no tactical expert, but wouldn't it be easier, with better odds of rescuing your held-at-gunpoint officer, trying to take them out as they exited the house. You know, with a dozen SWAT guys and snipers while the 4 crooks walk from one fixed point to another. As opposed to one cop with a gun standing up in a speeding car, trying to take out 3 crooks inside a moving van through a narrow doorway? Just seemed to me like the second plan was the higher risk one where more could go wrong. Good thing the guy driving left the window rolled down and the door unlocked.

What Was The Point of Using Kashmir? Especially In That Sequence?
by Crow3711
Last night was a truly crap episode of revolution, with the "low oxygen hallucinations" being one of the sillier excuses to have characters confront their psyches I've ever seen...but why did they make such a big deal out of Kashmir? They used it, ineffectively in my opinion, for about 14 seconds. Did you really need to name the episode after that? WTF? Not to mention it had nothing to do with anything going on thematically, just like, hey look we're a cool show, we play zeppelin man! I was astonished.
-
loved season 1, didnt get around to watching season 2. dunno if it will be worth it now..
-
be a season 3. Nice job. In other news, I was getting a kick out of reading the posts on Starz' Facebook page. People are pissed. Thankfully, for me, it means I'll be saving $150 a year, as there's not much reason to keep the movie channel.
-
A friend of mine told me that Led Zeppelin is putting out a new album this week. I'm assuming that NBC/Universal has some affiliation with the music distributor releasing the album. Revolution (at the time) was the top rated show. What better way to expose it and give it some (free) publicity.
-
it was cross-marketing. The way the scenes were done the music could have been anything. Those scenes would have played pretty much the same way had Zepplin's music been replaced with the latest Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber, or whatever NBC Universal was looking to sell. Although one might think somewhat differently of Giancarlo Esposito's character had he said "I've missed this kind of music" as he walks in on Elizabeth Mitchell listening to One Direction.

I found the whole mine 'disarming' thing far more implausible
by tailhook
In general, if you trigger a mine like that, you can simply kiss your ass goodbye. They are not made to be disarmed and don't come with nifty screw-off plates so that you can get to their innards. Typical Hollywood Garbage writing.

Not as bad as season 2 of Jailbreak but pretty damned close.

I like Daniel, i like he's work, he's been in programs i like and it's been a slog for him to be recognised. Must be, he isn't white and there isn't a dearth of Asian characters for him to play. But man he was in lost that dude can act. So why the fuck 5-0? Maybe its a relatively easy paycheck living in the sun. But C'mon Daniel, you're fucking better then that. South Korea cinema is blowing up, why the fuck aren't you the cross over artist that puts in out into mass appeal? Someone get daniels agent on the line.

Couldn't the writers just say there was a gas leak or something?
by MoneyGrabSequel
That was some lazy writing - the air in that space would last for, well I don't really know ... but more than a few hours for sure
-
I have been following along. Some decent ideas ,but this latest - the 30-40 mins of tunnel-walking and Hallucinations? Come on. How terrible. Aren't you ashamed? And this breathless announcer" FEATURING the music OF .......Led Zeppelin!!!! Like , so what? Come on ,how childish. And the acting ...Jeez.Who the hell is the guy with the pinched lips playing Monroe? How in the WORLD did he get this gig? This is below GianCarlo's abilities.
