HERCULES ON THE RADIO!!
Learn What Ain’t It Cool’s TV Critic Thinks Of LINCOLN, ALIEN: ENGINEERS, Tomorrow’s WALKING DEAD And HOMELAND And The Latest STAR WARS News!! Listen And Call In LIVE Saturday 10pm PT / 1am ET!!
Oh, I’ve seen “Lincoln.” And it is ON, Steven Spielberg!!
And we’ve got a special guest from “Breaking Bad” on tonight. Hint: He is The One Who Rings.
Tonight the geekiness slides to 10:05 p.m. PT to accommodate sport. “Ask Mr. KERN” could remain there until the far-future year of 2013.
No matter where you are you can listen to the show LIVE by hitting the “Listen Live” button at kernradio.com.
Best of all, you, constant reader, can join this very nerdy conversation.
The toll-free call-in line is:
1-800-640-5376
Call in drunk, as I always do, but watch your language. This is not a podcast. This monster goes out over the air on all 50,000 watts of Southern California’s KERN-AM.
Have something better to do tonight? Want to listen to older shows? Head over to the “Ask Mr. KERN” archives!
Where do you suppose Spielberg got the idea to put Daniel Day Lewis in that stove-pipe hat? The answer I suspect will forever remain a mystery.

This does not accommodate sleep.

I concur with adeceasedfan. I live on the east coast and work Sunday, so it is rare for me to catch the show live. Sidenote: Herc, if your guest is who I think it is, can you ask him about working on Oz as (I believe) Nappa? I loved Oz. Have a great show tonight, Kern Krewe!
-
I realize what the time change does to our listenership. It cannot be helped. What you can do is download the show off the website... askmrkern.com I'm compiling the stats from said website so that I may show them at some future time to someone that may provide us with a better timeslot and an upgraded facility. See how that works? Until then, we are where we are, the show is live and on the air world wide, and DING DING DING DING DING is gonna gonna explode with half-face shattering information for us tonight! Talk to you then!
-
I do download the show when necessary from askmrkern.com which is bookmarked btw. However the live talkback is half the fun for me, but I'll sacrifice sleep for the KERN crew and the Savages. AND I just like to bitch, so there. See you tonight!!

Holy shit.

CaveJohnson... Is this cave made of granite? Thick, dense granite?

block of salt block of salt block of salt *but still no answer to my question.* *when a sandwich is very, very salty and i say i don't like it because it has a lot of salt in it, am i expressing a fact or an opinion?* This question was answered, dude. *Both of you eat those subs. You, with your gourmet palate, find it salty. Possibly too salty, to the point that you not only dislike it, but can't eat it. You dislike it and say that it is too salty.* *Then Adeceasedfan eats his and maybe he eats a lot of fast food or maybe he's a saltaholic, shaking it all over everything he eats or perhaps today this is just the way it strikes him, whatever, but he says These are good. I like them.* *Aren't they too salty? you say. Nope, they're good. he says.* *Guess what? You're both neither right or wrong.* *BECAUSE YOU ARE BOTH EXPRESSING YOUR OWN OPINIONS OF THE SANDWICHES!!!* What you like or dislike is subjective. It's your opinion. *when a sandwich is very, very salty and i say i don't like it because it has a lot of salt in it,* *i say i don't like it* You don't like it. That would be your opinion. block of salt block of salt block of salt More like. Block of granite Block of granite Block of granite

I will attempt to listen this evening. Works perfectly after SNL.
-
Glad you got that off your chest. Speaking of chests... No Subway tonight. I just had a perfectly cooked 7oz. sirloin served by a perfectly cleavaged angel in short shorts. Then Easy Livin' by Uriah Heep blasted through the sound system and I was truly in Heaven. Needless to say I'm in a great fucking mood! It's Saturday Night. Who's ready to party?
-
Kickback Jacks. It's a regional chain and my favorite. It's kind of sports bar-y with lots of flat screens. Granted the TV's are the only flat things in the place. Not as tacky as Hooter's and waaaaay better food.
-
It's not the place for quiet conversation. If you want to catch the game and have a few beers. It's perfect, but not so much that you can't bring your family. My kids love it. Daddy loves it more. Did I'm mention the wait staff? Oh, nevermind.

...if they're properly cooked. (WC Fields)

I LOL'd last week about your PTL comment. Jim and Tammy were always on at my house. I think my family collectively paid for one satellite...or at least a waterslide at Heritage USA.

The great Lennie James was in the pilot. I wish he had been a regular.....but then again, you are absolutely correct, they don't know how to write a decent minority character at all.....besides Glenn.

Does adeceasedfan have an adeceasedfan fan? Or does he have two TB names? People gotta know.
-
I am he.
-
He is me.
-
Good.
-
When I first registered, the handle. Deceased was taken. Now I've been coming here for years and don't recall seeing that name pop up. When I was denied I quickly registered as adeceasedfan and have regretted it since. It's cumbersome and weird, so this morning as I brushed my teeth, I noticed the Deceased T-shirt I was wearing (big fan) had ellipsis at the end. Lightbulb! Deceased... will now be my handle. So goodbye.
-
Great. Not "the best Bond ever" but certainly high up on the list. Nice to see THE car at the end, wish we had also got THE man.
-
I don't think I'll be able to continue with New Moon. I'm not a sadist. I will say Kristin Stewart is hotter than I remember. Those rabbit teeth she's got are working. Anna Kendrick's cleavage is also worth noting.
-
It would seem that somebody has deceased as a handle. I wonder if there is a time limit for nonuse of a handle? Then the handle would be up for grabs again. I have no idea what the rules are. I've been L.H.Puttgrass (though now it is l.h.puttgrass) since 2002 or 03. I thought at some point they had started not allowing new handles to have punctuation or spaces, since I haven't seen anyone use them. Now there is you and welivestill...ornot. The last website change took out capital letters.
-
Yep, an original here. Actually, four names. Drew (aka "Moriarty") dumped me a few times. He and I didn't care for one another.
-

As for Twilight... I was channel-surfing earlier and came across New Moon (I think).
by L.H.Puttgrass
It was on FX and the two leads were in the woods arguing (sort of) about staying together and her going or not going somewhere with him. Their line delivery was such that they blended in perfectly with the trees in the background. I feel comfortable that I will never read the books or see the movies of this tweener series. Wooden actors in the woods. I don't think I could take that for two hours. How many flicks are there now? Five? That's about 10 hours. I'd need a pillow and blanket...
-
Never been banned or wished away to the cornfield. I followed Drew to see what was going on over there on Hitfix. For awhile... I haven't been to that site for several months.
-
.,-_ is about all you can use, I think. No spaces. I had another handle with underscores, but I post via mobile a lot and underscore was so inconvenient, so I abandoned that one. In all honesty, I never posted here (longtime lurker) until I got so wrapped up in some of these tb's. And since I spent so much time reading I figured that I should take the plunge. Hundreds of hours and thousands of refreshes later. Here we are. Is it weird that I changed names? I know tbers do it all the time, mostly because of frequent bannings. I'm not trying to hide anything, just simplify. Several tbers call me Deceased anyway, so why the hell not. If the original Deceased turns up and has a problem...well that probably won't happen, so fuck it. That's what the dot dot dot's are for.
-
Nov. 18, 2012, 9:52 p.m. CST
deceased... I would think if there ever was a Deceased they are long gone.
by L.H.Puttgrass
I was a lurker after I got my first pc in Sept of 02. I first posted in a TB concerning Clint Eastwood. There was an argument about whether or not he should make another western. I think that was it. Anyway, I had enough and L.H.Puttgrass was born.
-
I don't understand your handle. Golf related?

This week will be confusing. Anyway. Yeah Liberty Meadows was great. It filled a void in the 90's that Outland didn't quite fill. Frank Cho has gone on to do some wonderful comic book art. His female form work is stunning.

I'm not. My family lives across the street, so I'll be walking down my driveway and into the warmth of Momma's kitchen. So wherever you go, or whatever you do, be safe. I'm thankful for all of you and the joy that you bring me every Saturday night. Happy Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow I'll be taking my Mom up up to my sister's house for the holiday festivities. It will be just the three of us since my brother-in-law will still be running his boat out in the gulf. Today I'm taking it easy after yesterday. What happened yesterday, you ask? It has been many years since my Mom has been down to the French Quarter. Not any more. We hit Cafe Du Monde for cafe' au lait and beignets while a cool looking dude in sunglasses blew some jazzed up tunes on his sax as the pigeons played in a fountain. After that we went through Jackson Square and sat on a bench in the sun. There was a brass band playing over by the St. Louis Cathedral. Kids were playing, turning cartwheels in the grass. We strolled passed and into many shops in the Quarter. Went inside the Cathedral. Still amazing, beautiful as always. It has both the aura of being a House of God and that thick, heavy feeling of years past. It's like walking through History's front door. We went next door to the Cabildo. It is a very old three story building that has been converted into a Louisiana history museum. There is a twin building on the other side of the Cathedral called the Presbytere which is also a museum. We were in the Cabildo for a few hours. We saw stuff from the War of 1812, the Civil War, the time of Spanish rule, the Louisiana Purchase, and Napoleon's Death Mask. After we left there, we hit the Gumbo Pot restaurant in the Jax Brewery. With our bellies full of Shrimp Creole, Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, and Gumbo, we headed back to our car and went home. The only problem of the day was the New Orleans rush hour traffic on the way back home. Yesterday was a very good day indeed.

Tomorrow I'll be taking my Mom UP to my sister's house for the holiday festivities. How did that happen?
-
I was responding to your last post from my memory and I mixed it up in a way that came out, as I'm reading it, as insensitive to your recent loss. I wanted to hope that your election volunteering work, your music work, and anything else would hopefully ease up and allow you more time for the holidays and your family and friends. When I lost my father in '98, it was unexpected and sudden after a kidney transplant that was making things better for him. We had postponed Christmas until he got home in January. It happened after he was discharged, at the apartment my mom had stayed in to be close to the hospital. They said it was a blood clot. I understand the loss and pain. And I really don't want to add to your's with my stupid, mistaken post. I wish you peace and love and the warmth of your family and friends during the Holidays. L.H.Puttgrass

PS I didn't take your comment to gotilk as insensitive, but it was nice of you to clarify. Gotilk, if your out there buddy. I look forward to your return, be well.
