Wednesday Is SWEEPS DAY 21!! New SURVIVOR, CHALLENGE, MINDS, CSI, SVU, AHS, X, MODERN, SUPERNATURAL, ARROW & NASHVILLE!! The Return Of WHITNEY!! Ultimate Mars Challenge On NOVA!! More!!

Published at: Nov. 15, 2012, 2:34 a.m. CST

Last week the tribe expelled former baseball superstar and active doucher Jeff Kent, who exited bragging about how rich he was and lamented in a sour grapes fashion that a lot of the grand prize would just go to “Obama” anyway. Smell you later, has-been!

Penner, meanwhile, has been able to keep himself afloat the last two weeks with immunity idols. Does he finally join the jury tonight?

Premiering tonight:

Baggage Battles (8pm Travel)

Border Wars (9pm NGC)

Whitney (8pm NBC)

Last Wednesday, the day after the election, was the first time in my memory that "The Rachel Maddow Show" (which barely existed subsequent to the last election) beat "The O'Reilly Factor" in the all-important adults 18-49 demo:

    Jeff Kent

    by Redc40

you rock. Hilarious that you got off that Obama crack on network TV and CBS didn't cut it. Granted Luke's "you voted for Obama so you're paying for it" rip on Modern family was funnier, but Kent's was better because it was real and not scripted.

  • Maybe they just saw it as a comment against the gov't taking a chunk of the winnings in Income Tax, and Obama simply being the current head of the Gov't. It's not like Obama created Income Tax. Just ask Richard Hatch.

I hope The Middle destroys Whitney

    by Mr. Voodoo Potato Head

    It's actually gotten pretty good.

  • Nov. 14, 2012, 2:43 p.m. CST

Also, glad Castiel is back tonight.

    by Mr. Voodoo Potato Head

I mostly just watch it out of habit now, but Cas episodes are usually pretty good.

ugh why is matthew broderick still relevant?

    by jsfithaca

hopefully tonights modern family isnt as bad as it looks. and yes lukes obama comment was hilarious! i love his political commentary, its so funny especially coming from him

  • We need a talkback to discuss this!

Whitney will soon have THREE shows on the air. Let that sink in...

2 Broke Girls, Whitney, and an upcoming E! talk show. Meanwhile, Community sits the bench. We are living in bizzarro world.

I thought Fox News ratings would shoot through the roof after Tuesday.

Jeff Kent was hilarious last week.

    by Hercules

I wish we could watch Penner engineer his eviction every week.

wait a minute -- Bill O'Reilly has been leading in the 18-49 demo??

    by TheSeeker7

I thought the thing was he had the stranglehold on the OLDER audience (ya know, like most of Fox News programming, and CBS's for that matter)

  • Nov. 14, 2012, 8:58 p.m. CST

I was rooting for Jeff Kent in a weird way

    by BigTuna

Yeah, he's got tens of millions and I know he's a douche, but he kept his real personality hidden very well until that confession when he was booted off. Penner is an amazing player BTW. What a mind fuck he did on Blair.

    IS ALPHAS CANCELED??? wtf?!

    by Norman Colson

I noticed the guy playing cameron hicks was on ARROW tonight in a major guest role... So that would imply that Alphas is over or not coming back? anyone knows?

Alphas' season is over dude. They're on Break.

    AHS ratings - 1.5

    by Dan

It's just below the top third of the table. Assume some obnoxious comment on your intellect, and we'll call it quits...

  • Nov. 15, 2012, 12:36 a.m. CST

Jeff Kent was a good player

    by Jayemel

who focused too much on Penner rather than the overall game. And they kept the Obama comment in because it represented his character and was relevant to the time of year. There was no political bias either way in it.

  • Nov. 15, 2012, 2:34 a.m. CST

the things i would do to Oliver's sister on Arrow...

    by Gordon Bombay

and the show is good too...

  • Nov. 15, 2012, 5:22 a.m. CST

    @bigtuna: mindfuck?

    by tailhook

He seriously tried, but look at the votes in the end. They got Skupin, not her. If anything, she's playing the most savvy game of anyone atm. She did what she had to to save Mike last week, and this week she burnished her credentials at any final tribal by showing that she stayed loyal to her tribe, it was Mike that went the other way. Ideally, she would want to see herself, Skupin, and Penner at FTC and she probably walks with the million. Nobody likes Skupin on Tandang, and Penner(and Skupin for that matter) has had the returning player anchor around his neck with people bitter they couldn't get him out. If thats the final 3, she walks with the million. Factor in that they still have 2 immunity idols to flush(neither of which she has), and she's in a very good position to go deep. Pete once again proves how weak a player he is. He rips on Lisa for Tribal Council, but then is confounded when he notes that his pick to go Skupin is still around, and then gets taken apart by Skupin at the Immunity Challenge? The dude is literally a dead fish on the show.

...rocks. The story is crazy, but the performances are amazing. I don't understand why it gets practically ignored on this site.

    Arrow

    by lynchmob17

God, I hate this trend of taking comic book characters and stripping them of their "comic book-iness". The Royal Flush Gang was just guys with hockey masks inscribed with playing card suits. The post modern deal with not having heroes and villains in their costumes drives me nuts. What's the point? Why take away their comic book appeal? Don't they want to cater to the comic book fans? It IS based on a comic book, after all.

  • Nov. 15, 2012, 9:40 a.m. CST

    Pointless royal flush gang

    by Cameron

should have just removed the royal flush part of it and the family's story would have been far more compelling. Heres to hoping thea goes sour and ollie ends up stopping her midcrime - where she recognizes him - thereby forcing him to help her cope with life by killing people with arrows in a monochromatic outfit like all normal people do.

    Lynch, chinaman....Arrow

    by Ninja Nerd

While I was always a "DC kid" and only cherry-picked Marvel and a slew of others, I never dived into Green Arrow much. So for me, this show is about 98% new 'stuff' each week. And I have to say, I like it. It's far from great, but since I don't know enough to have 'canon alert, canon alert!' going off in my head, it's perfectly watchable. I don't know if hovering around 1.0 will get Arrow a second season, but who knows. More time might give the writers and actors a better opportunity to improve this into a good to great show.

    Much Better Epsiode of Supernatural

    by rakesh patel

Starting off, i thought dean might spend the whole ep pretending not to see castiel. bit sad to hear chuck is dead in a throwaway line. but nice to see castiel back. I'm actually ok with all explanations, because i just want the show back on form.. so no deep analysing of why they went, why castiel thought he should stay there, how he got back etc etc etc. also, yeah. amanda tapping and some mystery. I'm alright with this. felt like a supernatural epside of old

  • Rich family friends of the Queens' who secretly make their money by robbing banks. I thought the doctor guy was going to be one of the members of the group and Oliver later finds out the truth about them.

    Arrow + AHS

    by rakesh patel

I too am annoyed they're cycling through villains, i guess we're looking for a proper green arrow foe arc Good call on the poster who said bloody face was Zachary Quinto. i want one of those mint skull serving bowls

    AHS

    by theGoldbergV

Continues to be brilliant. The editing, the performances, the tone of it. Awesome. Mutant people, Nazis, aliens and a serial killer who makes lamps out of skin. You don't get that on The Mentalist. It's pushing The Walking Dead for the best show airing now

  • Nov. 16, 2012, 4 a.m. CST

shadowvision: I agree with you regarding Arrow...

    by Prof. Pop-Cult

I think your twist would have worked the best and fit very well. As it stands, the depiction of the Royal Flush Gang and the family's criminal origin was lame in this series' "Nolanized" depiction of Green Arrow. And kind of sad, actually. And they never referred to the bank robbers as the Royal Flush Gang.

Regarding Chuck, Castiel really just said he didn't know what happened to him. But remember at the end of Season 5 when it showed him dressed in white and he disappeared in a flash of light? Still waiting on a definitive explanation for that. Many fans have assumed that he was God the whole time. *shrugs*

Was almost ready to quit watching Survivor ...

    by Itchy

as recent editions have sucked, but this season has been great. Who the hell knew Blair from Facts of Life would be such a lovable, yet dangerous, player ? And Jeff Kent unloading on Obama and basically screaming "I'm better than all of you You !!!" was fantastic.

  • Nov. 16, 2012, 1:36 p.m. CST

Unfortunately, Lisa probably leaves next week.

    by tailhook

Right now it breaks down into 4 sets of 2 players. Abi + Pete Lisa + Mike Malcolm + Denise Penner + Carter One of the pairs is going to have to be broken. If I was Penner, I would convince Lisa/Mike we were all voting for Abi and hopefully Lisa convinces Abi she's at risk. Abi + Pete vote for whoever, and then Malcolm, Denise, Penner, and Carter vote Lisa. If you're convincing, you can get Abi to flush the idol, and in turn you break up Lisa and Mike. Mike has nowhere else to go except stay with the numbers. Abi doesn't have the idol. Abi/Pete/Mike can be picked off leaving a final 4 of Kalabow/Matsing.

    Arrow - Love It

    by Red_Right_Return

Guess I'm not voicing a popular opinion, but I love the show. Anyone else notice Katie Cassidy got a boob job? She so didn't need it. One of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

  • Nov. 16, 2012, 8:49 p.m. CST

Yep, Katie Cassidy had work done

    by mypalfish

And she looks worse for it. What was wrong with her before?
