Welcome To The JURASSIC PARK 3D One Sheet!!
The Kidd here...
If you're going to do a poster for a 3-D re-release, they don't look much better than the newly released one sheet for JURASSIC PARK 3D, unveiled by Universal Pictures earlier today.

Yeah, I'd put that thing on my wall. It just invokes the nostalgia of the first time seeing that film and the excitement of getting to see dinosaurs roaming on the other side of that gate. There's going to be a resistance to seeing this in 3-D, because of the backlash the format has been deservedly getting over the past couple of years... but the prospect of seeing JURASSIC PARK in IMAX is enough to put on the glasses for me. Just hearing the T-Rex roar on that sound system... Wow.

Not in 2d as well, don't care.
-
...nothing special.
-
This movie takes me back.
-
Yet unfairly mauled at the hands of jurnos like yourself 'TheKidd'! Yes some movies balls it up, but a lot dont. Don't decide the format is dead because you don't like it!

I never saw this in the theater cuz I wasnt 13 and my mom would let me see pg13 movies
by Stephen
so u can bet I'm going
-
If only they'd killed a kid then I'd have cared more. The beard bottled it.
-
... that the kids and people never rode through the gate in the gas powered jeep? It was only Nedry at night in the rain.

Certain 3D films deserve backlash, not the format as a whole.

Didn't get to see this when it originally was in theaters. I was the loser kid at school who missed out.
by kindofabigdeal
That is probably the biggest selling point for me.

There's plenty wrong with "Jurassic Park" (some of the dialogue, the whole scene with the girl "hacking" into the computer system AWFUL), but wow, what an experience that was when it first opened. I still get goosebumps thinking about much of it and that poster totally gets me excited again. And John Williams' score for this movie brings tears to my eyes. Achingly beautiful.

The Cinesphere at Ontario Place used to do a film festival in the winter of movies you should see on the big screen. The sound was incredible. When the T-Rex roared it rattled my bones.

Holy shit I didn't even know this was happening. Ass in seat.

Meh poster. No clawmarks? No t-rex or raptor eye staring through at you?
-
Must go faster! Coolest nerd ever to grace a screen.
-
That badass spielberg, got the balls to put that in there, good lord 90s cinema was amazing shit. You kids today are missing out.
-
I imagine this is what it felt like to see Star Wars in 77 or King Kong in 33. As an 8-year-old dinosour fanatic, no other filmgoing experience will ever top this for me. I will be seeing this in IMAX, guarenteed.
-
Theme Park rides were good though
-
The studio was so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should. [bangs hand on table]
-
Meh. I'll see it in 2D first.

Did they have to use graphic design software from 1993? This looks horrible...

Just thought I'd beat that kobra kai douche to "the punch." No mercy.

Terrible. What the fuck are they thinking converting all this 2D shot crap to 3D? There's already a button on my 3DTV that does that and it looks just as crap.

WTF? my post got deleted. I think I made it like 30-40 minutes ago. I saw it officially appear right after I did it.
by TheSeeker7
is this a new problem?

was my answer to "film you've seen most in your life" on the BNAT app. Jurassic Park 3D was my answer to the what's going to play this year question. Let it be, as unlikely as it is.
-
Saw this opening day with my mom. Fucking awesome movie.
-
....my parents rolled in late & ended up having to sit across the aisle from us. The T-Rex burst out & my dad & I exchanged a look and read each other's mind. We so wished we were side by side for that moment.
-
Feel so old.
-
that digital effects won it all http://youtu.be/MEbm-xLjEwk
-
i would think so?
-
I saw this film the day it came out as a kid, desperate to see living, breathing dinosaurs after having read the novel in 4th grade. I'll definitely be there opening night again. Fan-fucking-tastic.
-
So this is how older people felt about Star Wars in 1997.

I'm so disappointed they never made that Jurassic Park 4 where the dinos had guns
by Stephen
they'll always let a franchise get bad, but they'll never let it get bad enough to be good again.

This movie essentially ended my adolescence with a bang
by Nasty In The Pasty
I turned 19 the month this came out, and it pretty much sounded the death knell for the special effects I grew up on for the decade that proceeded it...no longer would we see matte paintings, stop-motion or large-scale minatures used in F/X movies...after this and Toy Story two years later, it was all CGI, all the time. I was also MAD for dinosaurs as a kid, and finally seeing dinos on the screen without seeing the jittery stop-motion seams or knowing it was a guy in a cheesy rubber suit blew my mind. Hard to believe it's been twenty years.
-
I agree with everything in your post, except.... .....the part where you refer to the Kidd and his ilk as "journos". They are glorified bloggers who probably get two fer tickets to the local Hoyts or Greater Union every time they upload another stream of consciousness screed to AICN. Journalists they AINT, mate!
-
Thx for resurrecting a similar memory... I remember seeing Apocalypse Now and The Hunt For Red October at Ontario Place. Good times.
-
I saw it once it came out on video (still not entirely sure where my parents' judgment came into play there, but I don't question it.), and immediately I began watching it every single day. That movie steered my life to such a point that for the next 12 years, all I wanted to do was become a paleontologist. And I've never had the chance to see it in theaters. You bet your ass, I'll be there April 5
-
holy shit

I'm not sure there is a movie that I'm more nostalgic about
by Ben_Richards_Bomb_Collar
Thinking about seeing this movie brings back so many memories and feelings. My life for that summer revolved around Jurassic Park.

because I wasn't born yet. This'll be my first time seeing the thing. Have heard the theme around though, and I hum and do the little conductor arm waving thing every time.
-
I'm sure it'll be fantastic, judging from what I've heard before.

Backlash? You mean how every time I see a 3D movie like Dredd 3D or Titanic it's awesome. Awesome backlash?
by UltraTron
-
true imax that is. life-size dinosaurs, now that would be awesome. no need to muck it up with the 3d.
-
Absolutely nothing in that poster looks like a real-world element.
-
Like the really cool 3D T-Rex design for THE LOST WORLD. That poster fetches over a thousand dollars a pop on Ebay. I wish I had one.
-
Its Jurassic Park, but as you've never seen it before in poorly rendered 3D. Sure you can watch the movie at home, but for only $17 a ticket and a $12 soda/popcorn fee, you can relive the joy of throwing your money away to studios for cheap cash grabs. By seeing this movie, you also endorse the conversion of all prior films to be re-released in 3D.
