Don't get me wrong, I love Louis C.K., but I sometimes question whether he can play characters other than himself.
by RedJester
Either way, I'm eagerly looking forward to tomorrow nights SNL!!!

What's a girl to do? DVR SNL. I mean I worship Louis CK, but Herc on the Radio is the place to be on Saturday night. Join us.
-
That could be the *finest* compliment I've ever received in my life. Your words will go on my headstone.
-
Did they pull that from some schmuck's deviatart account? Was an actual professional paid for that shit?

I just learned my buddy Ian Lloyd (sings the Louie theme song) will be doing an off camera performance on SNL tonight!
by Wolfman Nards
So I assume that means a "Louie" parody? Check out his band Social Hero. His son is the lead singer. Fucking amazing party band and one of my favorite bands to play with.
-
He's still my favorite cast member. And the Under-Underground Records Festivals never get old. Looking forward to Louis CK tonight.
-
Not sure why they would forgo the iconic sunglasses-themed art, though.
-
Just sayin'. NBC can't even not fuck up press releases.

Just trying to bring some more talkbackers into the Krew fold.

Could be good. CK was great on "Parks and Rec" playing against type.
by OutsideChance
But since its SNL I'll do what I always do now: wait for the good stuff on Hulu.
-
I know it was a poor skit, but I still laughed.
-
No huge moments, but consistently funny. All the SNL haters can eat a dick.
-
That was a pretty huge moment Max. Everyone is going to be talking about that one. It was amazing
-
I normally change the channel during the musical performances. Twas fine for Fun, but I think I'll be skipping Rihanna and definitely skipping Maroon 5.

The lord of the rings / Game of thrones skit was one of the worst I've seen. Louis CK looked like he knew it was shit
by ndally
Maybe the hurricane shortened the week for the writers because I highly doubt this awful skit was rehearsed and aloud to make the cut. The audience was silent. The line where Louis says "I'm annoying the audience" (something like that) was 100% ad-libbed in the moment. It can't be understated how bad that was. Who wrote that? Ive seen some REALLY BAD skits in my days but this might just take the cake.

Was that even a parody of LOTR/GoT or what the fuck? I had to rewind to show someone the train wreck

One of the worst presidents about to get run out of office
by GreatOne4
But hey, let's do another Fox News sketch! Wow, how relevant.
-
Hey, don't skip Rihanna as the musical guest or you'll miss her choreography which typically includes her doing a variation of the hand jive on her crotcheal area.
-
We get it, you're not a particularly progressive person, but enough of the Obama bashing. If you can't stand liberals don't watch programming with a liberal slant such as SNL. There's got to be some comedy shows out there for conservatives such as yourself. And if not you can always fall back on youtube footage of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Douche.

This weeks ep was a little weak. Louis CK is not a character actor. He can play himself, that's it.
by RedJester
And he rocks at it btw. Not only is his show brilliant, but in my mind he is the best stand up comedian still with us.

Best episode of the season easily. The fantasy sketch and the

Musical guest were the only weak points. Australian film show was hilarious. "You can go crazy on my butt now." Lincoln was gold too.

Not only is Louis CK one of the best comedians around, he's a great and humble human being
by Bobo_Vision
Check out this email he sent his fans just before doing SNL last night: http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/11/03/louis-c-k-emails-fans-before-his-first-snl-hosting-gig-im-a-pretty-lucky-guy/

He's just about the only host besides Walken and Baldwin that can guarantee I'll watch SNL

The opening monologue was great. But this really wasn't his thing.

redjester - better to keep silent and let people think you're a jackass
by GreatOne4
Then open your fucking mouth and remove all doubt. Obama is comedy gold, yet high-minded "progressive" twits like yourself do everything to protect the guy. Oooh, first black president; however can we mock and make fun of him? Have a good time crying in your beer on election night, dickweed.
-
Nothing that stood out, but overall good, agree with above, definitely the best episode of the season. Though Bruno Mars had a solid episode too, otherwise this year has been a bit sub-par.
-
I guess you missed Jay Pharoah's Obama falling asleep at the podium during the parody of the first debate. Lots of Obama skewering over the years at SNL, but people see what they want to see, I guess, especially the more fanatical among us. Those saying there were zero post-monologue laughs must've missed the Lincoln bit.

Good not great episode. Lincoln sketch was easily the best
by Monolith_Jones
When the music kicks in and he comes up from the subway, hilarious ( to the handful of people who watch Louie). This season the best episode so far was Seth McFarlane followed my Bruno Mars. Louis CK was good but I have to say I was expecting better. Surprised he didn't do a shirt film like the one they did for Bruno Mars.
