The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day’s father was Frankenstein, but its mother was the lightning!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!

Apologies for the alternating early morning/late at night postings for BTS column. I type this out with red-stained hands after going a little overboard with the Halloween decorating, which has had to happen in a rush since I took a last minute 5 day sojourn to London. My hours of operation are a bit skewed at the moment as the big day approaches.

Today we take a look behind the scenes of The Ghost of Frankenstein. You could call it a perfect companion photo to another Jack Pierce/Lon Chaney Jr. photo I ran earlier this month from the making of Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman. Click here if you missed it.

Both photos feature Chaney Jr. as a classic Universal Monster and both photos show Pierce making them even uglier than usual. With Frankie Meets Wolfie, Pierce singed Wolfman’s hair and today we see The Monster getting caked via a decidedly low-tech method.

Thanks to William Forsche and the PEG for this shot. Click to enlargen.

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.

Before I go, I want to put in a little plug for a nifty little atmospheric horror short called No Way Out that stars AJ Bowen and is directed by Kristoffer Aaron Morgan and written by yours truly. We made this little bit of weirdness on favors, air miles, borrowed equipment and volunteer labor from a very talented Austin crew and I’m quite proud of it. I’m hoping Muldoon finds it decent enough to feature in his usual Saturday shorts round up, but please forgive me for doing a little self-congratulation in this very personal column for me. Check the embed below if you have a spare few minutes and I hope you enjoy it.

Tomorrow’s big Halloween pic will give you double vision.
