John Ary here reporting from Austin Comic Con 2012.
With Halloween around the corner, I thought I would post a few cosplay pics from opening night. I'm not exactly sure who or what I'll be dressing up as this year, but chances are that it will absolutely suck in comparison to these talented folks. We'll have more tidbits from the con posting soon.

Love the time & creativity of the people in these photos. I hope movie costume designers go to thess things to get ideas, I bet they do!

These people are having fun, and good on them. Some of the pit-dwelling talkbackers on here need to put up their own photos or shut up. Pathetic, negative, boring fuckers. Ps is there anything more pathetic than geeks making bullying remarks about OTHER geeks' appearances? All it does is show how badly you let the world treat you and how desperately bitter you are about it...shame. Ps zombie Mario and Peach. Love it. This might already be a thing, but if not, that's some great work right there.

...it's just dressing up, for fuck's sake. I don't know when Cosplay started being used as a term to make it sound like a more adult pastime, but it's annoying in it's attempt to make it sound like something that it isn't. It's dressing up. That's it! Don't be ashamed to call it what it is! It doesn't NEED to be disguised as something else.

...the pic with the three women/girls in it. I don't actually know what any of their costumes are - bubble girl, possible x-something and gold lame woman. Yeah, gold lame woman is milfy milftastic. Looks like she could be their mother when you enlarge the pic, but she's definitely WAY closer to my age bracket than the other two.

First of all, do you really think they don't KNOW that they're overweight? <p> Second, they still got off their asses, created a costume and had enough guts to wear it to a con. While you commenters are just sitting on your asses in your homes, thinking you're clever for pointing out the obvious.

...even though I've never followed anything x. And unfortunately, MST3K totally missed me. I think I would probably have been a fan, but by the time I knew what it was it was pretty much done and I felt like I was arriving at the party while the cleanup was already taking place.
