I like the idea of seeing X-Men vs. some of the other Marvel Universe's bad guys that say the Avengers would go against & vice versa. Seeing Avengers vs. Mr. Sinister or others.

Please tell me someone picked up Before Watchmen: Dr. Manhattan. I need to talk to someone else about how gorgeous Adam Hughes' art is. I'm not digging JMS Dr. Manhattan, but holy God is it a beautiful book to look at. I liked Uncanny Avengers and I loved Batman. Snyder's joker was kick-ass -- totally terrifying. I passed on Phantom Stranger but I was REALLY intrigued by it, bnut from what you guys said, I guess I'm not missing much. P.S. Loved the "That's so Raven" line.

I forgot about Snyder writing Superman! That's probably the best Superman news I've heard in a decade. Maybe Snyder can make Superman relevant again because he's been handled TERRIBLY by most of the writers who take on the continuous series. Even Grant Morrison's Action Comics leaves something to be desired. And I'm just not digging Lobdell's Superman. I don't like the guys writing anyway, but I gave his Superman Annual a chance and I still had issues with its pacing and dialogue. Plus, I'm not a Rocafort fan so the visuals don't engage me either. Sigh.

And yes the art is glorious -- I have to disagree though on the story -- I think it's a pretty interesting and logical prequel for a God.

It's far from the darling of every site. Yes, it's on a lot of sites, which merely signifies effective pestering PR. Every review is a collective meh with more buts than a Rap Video.

Im generally not a fan of the biggest guns because they are so static... But after reading the review last week, I picked it up and it was indeed very good. and creepy. However, between this book and Suicide Squad, I am having to say that New52 Harley Quinn is a pale (pun intended) and inferior imitation of the original...

simply because I'll buy anything with Adam Hughes artwork. Have to say, though that I agree with Optimus - the story is pretty engaging. Maybe it's because I'm late to the party, but I rarely hear Hughes name mentioned on comics talkbacks - which leaves me scratching my head, because his artwork is stunning. Is he just passé these days or what?

I thought Superman 0 was pretty damn good. But I gotta agree, the Superman and Action titles have been hit and miss. Hard for me to be objective, though, because I'm a complete Supes whore.

Saw those ads today on another site - having a bit of insight into the advertising game, I hope that "Superman Exploders" is just a working name, because that's pretty lame. Also, I hope Superman action figures that are essentially rubber bands are not exactly the type of innovation I was hoping to see for my favorite comics character.

The past year has been a hot fucking mess with a side of day old bukake. Morrison started strong in ACTION, but the book's hiccup in arc hurt the momentum hard. You can't stop a Morrison story mid stream. Then once we got 5 years ahead, the book became a big huge WTF???? Why? Well over in SUPERMAN, none of the events in ACTION carried over. Perez did a great first issue and then the whole thing slid into a mutant of the week clusterfuck. Once Morrison got to the present it's no wonder he killed Clark and made him a fireman. He had nothing to work from. But that's the past, I see great things for H'El on Earth
