AICN Toys: LEGO TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, KRE-O G.I. JOE, WALKING DEAD Series 3, And More!!
John Ary here with a quick look at a few action figure lines that are making headlines this week. As always click on the photos for an embiggened version and for more pics follow the pre-order links......
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from LEGO
All I can say about this news is... COWABUNGA!!! The first set in the series “The Shellraiser Street Chase” will include Leo and Mikey with a foot soldier, Dogpound and Krang ($59.99). The other minifigs will show up in several yet to be announced sets. Hopefully we'll know more about release dates, pricing and when we can expect to see a LEGO version of Casey Jones in the next few weeks.
KRE-O G.I. Joe from Hasbro
It’s classic Joes versus Cobra in Hasbro’s latest building block line of toys. Beginning in February, Toys “R” Us stores will exclusively sell KRE-O G.I. JOE sets and mini-figures. Each G.I. JOE KREON figure will be sold blind-bagged and include a unique weapon and accessories. The first wave will feature Rock N’ Roll, Kim Arashikage, Cobra Trooper, Crimson Guard Trooper, Scarlett, Cobra Axe Ninja, Cobra Ninja Viper, Quick Kick, Cobra Alley Viper, Torpedo and Adventure Team Commander. Those will sell for $2.99 each.
We have pics of individual figures and more sets posted over at ArticulationTimes.com!
The Walking Dead TV Series 3 from McFarlane Toys
Just in time for the new season of AMC’s The Walking Dead comes pics of the next wave of TV inspired action figures. This time around we’ll get five new toys. Merle features 20 points of articulation, prosthetic arm w/ removable bayonet, assault rifle, pistol and a knife. Michonne has 24 points of articulation, removable poncho, katana sword and katana sheath. Two new pet zombies each feature removable backpacks, neck chain leash, arms and bottom jaw. Also the Autopsy Zombie will make an appearance with knife and removable shirt to reveal either a partially digested hand and/or woodchuck carcass. This wave will arrive in March or you can pre-order themhere.
Weaponeers of Monkaa from Spy Monkey Creations
I got my hands on a couple of these new action figures that use the Glyos connection system. All of the limbs and extremities are interchangeable. Just pop off a hand and replace it with a any part you like. Each figure features 25-28 swappable parts including weapons, heads, hands and other accessories. They also come with a trading card. Currently there are 6 different figures up for sale with several different add on packs. You can learn more about them at SpyMonkeyCreations.com.
And finally this week, it's been a long time since He-Man has appeared in his own video game. Luckily the folks over at chillingo and Mattel have combined forces to bring us a new Masters of the Universe themed release on the iOS platform. Look for it in the fall.
That's it this week. Check back next week as we'll have more pics and news from this weekend's New York Comic Con. Be sure to follow my toy blog ArticulationTimes.com on Twitter and Facebook and subscribe to the AICN Youtube channel.

There is always time for toys.
Ironically, a few weeks ago my son told me they should make a Lego G.I Joe game. He's a big fan of the Lego games. I had the dubious honor of explaining trademark rights to a 7 year old. As I explained how awesome that game would be, it would never happen because of Hasbro having their own line of blocks. I even went as far as to say that I didn't think that Hasbro would make a KRE-O GI Joe line because of the declining corporate interest in GI Joe. This news proves that I know nothing, but I've never been happier to be wrong.

Over at mattycollectorcom today only, you can get the Masters of the Universe Classics He-Man and Battle Cat for $30.00. Not a bad deal since they're normally $22 and $33 each separately.
