The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day is not insane. It simply wants to die.
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
It’s not Halloween until there’s some love thrown at an awesome picture of Jack Pierce working on some form of Lon Chaney Jr. make up. I could never live with being the guy that stopped Halloween by not providing such an image, so here we go.
Mr. Pierce is singeing the fur of Chaney’s Wolf Man, preparing for another day on the set of Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man. Thanks to Scott Essman for the image! Click to enlargen!

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.
Tomorrow’s pic everybody’s favorite uncle visits a horror icon in tomorrow’s pic.

How come AICN isn't reporting on the upcoming film starring Nic Cage and Anakin?
by kindofabigdeal
Sounds like a perfect train wreck of a film. Nic's overacting with Hayden's lack of acting should be fun. Besides, I thought this site loved all things related to Star Wars.

It's amazing how many stories AICN doesn't cover. Possible casting of MJ in Spidey 2 anyone?

i guess sony is going with boring girl next door version mj again. zzzzzz.

Perhaps a lady?

I'd like to meet his tailor Really, as much of a prick as he was supposed to have been, I would have loved to have met Pierce.
-
I was probably the only one who enjoyed the Benicio version - mostly the extended cut. It fleshed out scenes a little bit better than the theatrical version - and Benicio was tailor-fitted for the role. The only quibble is the lazy morphing effect which is frequent in films such in this genre. Like "An American Werewolf In London" (arguably the greatest metamorphosis captured on celluloid) it never relied on short cuts that movies always rely on today; it just reduces that level of believability, which is a shame. Oh, the days of practical effects.
-
I think I remember seeing a movie with Milton Berle in a comedy horror from the 60s where he meets his fiance's family and they're like the Addams.
-
Goodday, eh?
-
Could have been a skit, he did appear on Berle's show a number of times, I also remember him on Red Skelton with Vincent Price. Sounds like it could have been one of the 60's surfer type movies, but can't find anything on it.

Archiebald, the original Howling also had a great man to wolf metamorphosis . . .
by elmo
And at least their werewolves stood upright. I loved the change in American W in London, but the final creature seemed more like a fat dog than a scary monster.
