I love how part of Fairytaleland still exsist and that they can visit it!

For a long time I defended Herc's daily ratings reports. I actually looked forward to them. Then he stopped doing any actual writing about the numbers, instead opting to post two dozen videos of varying sizes. That made the browser chug and definitely didn't look very good. But I accepted that. What I won't accept is three different videos auto-playing upon start up. It's bad enough that this page looks like YouTube vomited on the screen, but I found it impossible to make make the four shrill voices talking simultaneously stop. PLEASE, Herc, reconsider the way you create these pages.

Loved it last year, and ready for more. Now, where is Outrageous Pumpkins this year?!

i open up multiple tabs when browing so i can quickly flick through articles.. hear all this shit and have to hunt down the page that plays all this crap. Herc’s Seen TREEHOUSE OF HORROR XXIII!! Herc, you got to change this. You're fucking up my shit.
by adeceasedfan
I came here to read your thoughts on Treehouse of Horror (which is barely a thought). I don't give a fuck about Glam Fairy, nor do I want to be assaulted by a video that I didn't click on.
-
incomplete gamer has it right. I love your posts herd, and I've been a defender. But this recent bullshit with shit tons of videos, especially of shows that you have to know not one person on this site is actually watching (big rich texas? glam fairy?!) You're being a douche, and the fact that some of these videos auto play makes it a pain in the ass on a laptop, and near unusable on an iPhone. you're just fucking up everyones experience. why would you even waste time posting a video from those shows anyway? These articles are ridiculously lazy.

That automatic Cleveland Show clip was worse than being raped.
by Metroid_Fetish
At least there's therapy for rape victim. Who is going to help me when I start cutting myself and killing neighborhood pets? This shit is all on you, motherfucker.
-
The autoplay seriously fucked up my shit. I am at work, watching Aliens on hbo go and pretending to concentrate on TPS reports, and now I hear this junk. But anyway, I am a little sad that the Treehouses of Horror are just a minor blip in a year's tv. Of course, I'm 34 now, so maybe that has some effect, but back in the day (The Shinning, Bart Simpson's Dracula, the school bus segment), those were the best 30 minutes of tv going.

Dont listen to these meanies Herc, Auto Play aint a prob for me...
by tomdolan04
because half of the videos 'Aren't Available in my Country'.
So I get a wonderfully insightful 'HERCS SEEN...." title and pretty much nothing else. Look man - it's an open secret that the Talkbacks are the only thing worthwhile about AICN and that the TB'ers regularly go on to provide the links to other sites that the 'journalists' on here spew up on the pretext that they are articles they've coherently written and researched by themselves, but you've gotta play the game and not make it so apparent.
Take The Kidd's enthusiasm for feigning ignorance - copy him!
-
The reason it doesn't auto-play for you is because Herc decided to take away the offending videos. He listened.

thx! <3 u herc!

Just remembered why I don't visit this site anymore
by Arthur_Digby_Sellers
I stopped coming here because of the complete lack of decent reviews and movie news these past few months. Figured I'd swing by this evening to see what I've missed. Looks like it hasn't been much- now auto play videos? I'm on a mobile phone and this is annoying as all get out. See you again in another month. This place is a wasteland. Go ahead, tell me good riddance. But come on aicn, you know your better than this. Almost forgot, you suck Harry you fat bastard.
-
The Avengers is soooooo great!, probably one of my favorite Comicbook movies. Whedon does such a great jobs of merging all of the personalities and stories into a cohecive movie, just a fun time! Oh and stay all the way through the end of the credits, theres a bad guy reveal after the what happened afterwards clips and then after the credits theres a funny payoff to a line from the movie. I actually loved it a tiny bit better then Dark Knight Rises and Rises is a near perfect movie.
-
I watched the "Steel Magnolias" remake. In some ways, it surpassed the original. Why people consider that version so iconic, I don't understand. Julia Roberts is horrible.

Homeland was freaking awesome tonight. And holy shit what an ending!
by American Mythos
-
we'll still have Homeland. And who runs their browser without countermeasures nowadays?
-
I was shocked at the cliffhanger! I never expected that Carrie would be proven correct so soon in the season. Great twist, and it really forces them to advance the plot quickly. And I'm pretty sure I know what they're going to do. I think they will keep an eye on Brody to get direct evidence of his treachery and then they'll confront him and turn him into a double agent. Or triple agent at that point, I guess? Then he and Carrie will have to work together to catch Abu Nazir. And it's going to be AWKWARD! God, I love this show!
-
C'mon!
-
Excellent 2 hour episode last night! Looking forward to Cullen rise the railroad out of the ashes. Very happy with season 2.
-
Polls everywhere showing everyone thought it was an amazing episode but very little chatter. The ending was superb! After the rumors of writers/producers not having Brody go BOOM, it was nice to see them not drag out Carrie was wrong angle.
-
Hated the ambiguity of the Swede hanging (actually, I wasn't a fan of the way the scene was blocked overall). Cullen should have had a gun trained on him, walking behind him, with the noose on his neck from the start. And the Swede needed to definitely die.
-
I really love the new direction that its going now.
-
They have been airing new Treehouse of Horror episodes in November for years, because they are douches. Now they air it on 10-8. DOUCHES!!! P.S. Family Guy sucks.
-
SPOILERS************ I really wanted to like this season, bu it has lust it's luster already and we are only on week 2. No fucking way Deb should even think of letting him live with her. What did they tell Jamie the nanny? They totally ignored how they are handling Dexter's son and how long they plan on living together. I don't recall ever getting on here to bash writing. As long as I am entertained, I can look the other way on most things, but this is falling really short. Deb needs to give Dexter a head start and then file an APB after telling LaGuerta what she found in his apartment. There is no other play for her. Everything else has become total bullshit, and I am calling it. This is one of my wife's and my favorite shows, but it's hard to stomach. Ray Stevenson could be a good villain, but even he seems really shoehorned in here. That story line adds nothing to the Dexter/Deb debacle. I imagine Dexter will have to flee the country going back to wherever the fuck Stevenson came from and take his antics on the road in Europe for the rest of his life. At least that would be better then living with Deb. Fuck us all, at least Homeland saves the day.
-
And yeah, I believe Deb would put her life on the line for Dexter. He's all she has, she loves him, and her father (who she worships and adores) laid out his current life pattern. Deb is caught--it would be horribly hard for her to do anything else. Enjoying the way the walls are starting to close in on him.

metroid_fetish can't masturbate to the redhead on Mythbusters.
by Metroid_Fetish
Myth busted.
-
Do you think LaGuerta is thinking Doakes is still alive and killing, or that he wasn't the BHB? I remember that he was blown up, but I don't remember if they could identify any remains to conclusively say it was him. I kinda recall Dexter massaging the evidence make Doakes the BHB. I know that Deb has nobody else, but she is fucking over herself, the department, her Dad, and everything she believes in for someone that she now knows is only her brother in name. I get that she loves him so much, but they might as well call her Deb Paterno.
-
LaGuerta knows Doakes is dead, they identified his body. But she never really did believe he was the BHB (well, that's what it seems like). I think she thinks she finally may be able to prove Doakes wasn't the BHB, and that whoever killed Travis is. And come on, to say that Dexter is her brother name-only is ridiculous. We've seen how much she cares for him over the six seasons. And even though pretty much all of us hated what they did with her toward the end of season 6, we still have to consider that, as the producers have said they aren't letting go of that story just because of negative fan reception.
-
I loved the latest Dexter episode. If the first two episodes are any indication, HOPEFULLY season 6 will be the only rotten egg in the bunch (unlike many, I loved season 3 and really liked season 5). Homeland had a good but not great season premiere, but this weeks episode was awesome. I wasn't expecting that ending at all and cannot wait for next week! Also just wanted to say how much I'm loving season 2 of Once Upon a Time.
-
Downton Abbey!
-
Thinking again about what I wrote, I think it is more likely that as the season goes on, she will realize more and more that Dexter isn't the person she thought he was. Right now, she is still in shock and not thinking clearly. My Deb Paterno reference might be more apt then anything. It's pretty good timing considering the Sandusky case, which I know has nothing to do with this. However, I think that case makes me think this story is much more believable then I originally ponder. She will clearly protect him no matter what at this point. Definitely looking forward to the time when she her hand is forced.
-
deb isn't screwing over her Dad. her Dad CREATED Dexter, and she's right: he did a shit job of it. it isn't Dexters fault that he is what he is. screwing over the department..? maybe. But she's a sister before she's a cop, and her behavior makes sense. as for La Guerta and Doakes...I have to think that they identified Doakes with DNA, so I'm betting she was hot for him and never believed he was the Bay Harbor Buthcher. Oh, the walls are closing in...this is gettin good.
-
Yeah, you're right. Her Dad did screw Dexter up more than he was. I know Deb is a sister before she's a cop, but eventually she will realize that her life will crumble completely if she doesn't do the right thing. Perhaps she can make things right for Dexter by taking care of Harrison as her own if Dexter must flee.
-
I suspect that Deb wouldn't care about her own life as much as she would keeping her duty--her REAL duty, which is to make Daddy proud. She's in a bind--Daddy did a bad thing. So her duty now is to outshine Daddy, to succeed where Daddy failed--save Dexter, for whom she has a confusing love (he ain't her biological brother...) Making it worse is that Deb probably has the urge to kill scumbags herself, held in check by duty. Watch this season to see if the Ukranian (or whoever) mob starts killing cops and getting away with it...at which point she just might decide that letting Dexter off the leash is the "best" thing she can do, a "justice above the law." This of course screws the pooch even worse. I figure Dexter may die by the end of next season, but the most likely thing is a faked death, if Deb REALLY believes he is no danger to civilians. Or, Deb herself may die. But one thing is clear--she has no fear of Dexter at all. None. She knows she is safe. And unless that certainty is shaken...well, this is a moral dilemma par excellence.
-
Don't get me wrong, I love the shit out of 24. It's one of the best shows of the past decade and one of my all-time favorites. But it was just a silly spy show, and it had a child-like understanding of the world that didn't remotely reflect reality. Homeland still has that same child-like view of the rest of the world, but it approaches counter-terrorism from a much more realistic angle. They still slip in silly shit (like Brody texting Abu Nazir last night, for example) but mostly they keep it believable. I fucking love this show.
-
He's back baby! This season is looking excellent so far !!
-
The Simpsons spoof of Paranormal Activity was more entertaining then the movies themselves. And Artie Ziff! Two out of three spoofs were decent, not too shabby. I second that call for an It spoof with Krusty! Kind of ashamed I've never thought of that before...
