Greetings, all. Ambush Bug here with a special clip from Sean Stone’s GREYSTONE PARK. I plan on reviewing this film and possibly interviewing Sean Stone (son of Oliver Stone) soon on AICN HORROR. Here’s the official synopsis of the film; Based on true events, the film follows three aspiring filmmakers trying to document unexplainable events in an abandoned insane asylum known as Greystone Park. Urban legend has it that anyone who ventures into the forsaken hospital will suffer the consequences and face their own horrors. The trio stumble across a mysterious realm of escaped patients, ghosts and demonic shadows, as they try to uncover the truth behind Greystone Park.

when the characters are separated and each do battle with a personal phobia, it only demonstrates that the film makers have NO IMAGINATION WHATSOEVER. How many more awful movies will use this device?

I just watched Chernobyl Diaries which started out promisingly with cool atmosphere but became tedious, and the trailer for Chernobyl Diaries was vastly better than that jumbled shaky cam trailer.

In case you might not be aware, Oliver Stone started his film directing career by making two low budget horror movies. You have to start from somewhere.

Except it was called The Asylum Tapes and it was pretty bad with a tacked on, totally nonsensical ending.

I fully understand that and I'm not saying that just because his dad is Oliver Stone the guy should be making some 40 million dollar brilliant existential sci opera or whatever. I'm just saying this seems to me a tad bit uninspired. Especially when you're growing up around Oliver Stone (or any great filmmaker for that matter). Though I cannot attest to that myself. I grew up around a guy who makes furniture.

Well, if it serves as any consolation to you, Sean Stone directed a pretty good documentary of his old man directing "Alexander". Quite an insightful doc about the filmmaking process and of Oliver Stone as a filmmaker, both onset and off. Worth checking out.
