“Smash” premiered with a 3.8 in the post-“Voice” timeslot earlier this year. Bad Robot’s “Revolution” did better.
Fox’s “Mob Doctor” fared poorly despite a decent tune-in for the season premiere of “Bones.”
Last Monday Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell tied “The O’Reilly Factor” and beat everything else on Fox News and CNN in adults 18-49. "The Daily Show," which took home another Emmy last night, continues to lap them all.

You had my hopes up. But no, its just some foodie thing.

It was nice seeing Louis CK win a couple Emmys last night - he is so talented on so many levels. Modern day Woody Allen....

I kinda feel the last three episodes could have been condensed....the Lynch character got too played out. I absolutely loved the arc with Posey and hope she returns.

loosejerk - you'reentitled to your opinion, but I can never get enough Lynch? love his films, and he cracks me up with his wacko screen persona- and HAIR!!
by Michael Lunney
-
...I guess I might try to watch Hawaii 50. God network TV sucks though. I don't envy Herc having to write about television.
-
...no, it was right the first time. Lynch works better with the question mark.
-
...Two Drunk Waitresses is back.
-
Did I say Yay?
-
Just a reminder for everyone who watched last week and realized that, but may have forgotten due to substance abuse or a head injury.
-
...this raises an interesting point. The show is called Dancing With The Stars. And this season is Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars So is the show admitting that its very title is a lie and that in fact previous seasons were merely Dancing With Some Stars And A Collection Of Poseurs, Has-Beens And Wannabes? And glancing at who they have dancing this season, if these are the All-Stars how marginal were those others? I think I'd prefer a show called Dancing With The Cars, where this same sort of roster of C-list celebrities would compete in running down a stretch of some major interstate or extremely busy thoroughfare. You could have the Stormy Night episode, the Drunk Drivers episode, the Every Light Is Green episode, and the one I think would be my favorite, Headlights Off! Save All The Drivers Are Stalkers for sweeps.
-
Yeah, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but after 15(!) seasons and many versions worldwide I think the C-list ridicule is passé. C'mon you're better than that. Besides I prefer to focus on the Dancing in the title...and the boobies.
-
...don't worry, I just wanted to get to the dancing the the cars thing.
-
...some of the things I like. You gotta' be watching some Honey Boo Boo to trigger my 'why are you doing that' reflex.
-
...cheered once during the Emmy Broadcast last night and it was when Tom Bergeron won. Admittedly, her love for him was built while forcing me to watch endless episodes of America's Funniest Home Videos with her. I hated it at the time. But now that she's fourteen I sure miss doing it.
-
I guess it was a "merely OK" show for a while, but it has really gotten to the point where the characters just grate on the nerves without even really doing anything. I also love that, once again, they have a "cliffhanger" with Ted's future wife by not showing her face. Goddammit, just get on with it already.
-
stop that this instant!
-
A Gay Man plays with his Laverne and Shirley action figures.
-
I hope TOUCH gets cancelled and Queefer's Smother-Hand does a movie and then does 3 more seasons of 24 on FOX again. Also someone needs to bring back Quantum Leap with James Van Der Beek as Sam Beckett Jr. and Scott Bakula as Sam Beckett but helping his son like Al did.

Just read the comment about your daughter. It was very sweet. Mine is only four and at her mom's tonight. I try to cherish everyday we're together, so I will remember what you said.

Gawd, Revolution is awful. I smell 'The Cape' fate for this thing.

Might be the only decent bit on the show.
-
...don't take this the wrong way, but I kind of love you right now. Each new age they reach is better than the last. The ages don't correspond to their birthdays. Just one day they're talking to you or just doing something while you watch and you realize that she's a different little person today, she's added a layer. And you're the only one who can still see inside to all those versions of her she used to be. I stressed to mine from as early as I could that I didn't have every answer and I wasn't always going to be right. The downside to that is that she almost never listens to the wisdom I share. The upside is she shows no sign of rejecting me and all I stand for, which every parent I knew told me to brace for when she hit her teens. And she writes, which makes me feel more honored and unworthy than I can possibly say. You know, I had some chances early on that a lot of people who come to this site would kill for, and I fucked them and myself up pretty badly. My wife saved my life but my kids redeemed it. You're probably a better person to start with than I was but if you give your daughter a chance, and it sounds like you are, she'll make you a better person than you ever dreamed you could be. Four. I envy you more than you would probably believe I could.
-
I am hugging you right now. Thanks.

Better than a lot of the stuff they try to push, but nowhere in the league of what you'd call quality yet. The lead chick might be a good actress someday, but right now she's lucky just not overemoting. She was a touch more bearable than last week, which after last week's gutterball of 'BECAUSE YOU'RE FAMILY!'... wasn't hard. Casting mactors as the brother and the 'love interest' was a mistake. Its really hard to take some of these characters seriously and they're either going to have to step it up to a level they clearly aren't yet equipped to handle, or have the supporting cast rip it from them wholesale. The one saving grace the show has is they have somewhat decent actors for the older people. I do get awfully tired though of the Hollywood need to crib off other content to try to get a story over with the fans. Like naming your big bad guy Randall. REALLY? Are you that unimaginative?

hit many of the same dramatic beats as Kripke's Supernatural. I'll continue to watch it. Would have tivo'd CASTLE, but it is available at Hulu, where Revolution was not (last I checked). And Alphas is pretty good. I missed it first around, but caught up with season1 on Netflix.

H+ The Digital series has a very similar premise to REVOLUTION, but much better executed in my opinion
by Rebel Scumb
I'm going to give Rev a few more episodes because it could improve and has some good elements, and really nice cinematography, but I agree with the criticisms against it, especially with everyone looking too clean and pretty.

the scene where the helicopter flys in with the claw was kind of silly. It reminded me of one of those claw games at stores that grabs prizes and my wife even said in the Toy Story Alien voice "The Clawwwwwww" I was thinking why with a criminal this huge they didnn't have some sort of air support, it made them look like idiots. Anyways except for that awesome episode, I loved how the CIA Mom was able to read everyone and get into their buisness, should be interesting to see just what shes up to with letting Wo Fat get away. Also I'm thinking with Chin executing Delano if he's going to the darkside this season. I was a little disapointed that Wo Fat and Delano didn't get to work together more. Should be an interesting season.

I'm supprised that they revealed Eliabeth Mitchell's character still being alive so quickly, I assumed that they would wait until mid season or the finale.

I'm in for Revolution. Yes it is by far not the best show on TV, but what kind of choices in future dystopia dramas do I have?? Even with the hammy acting and unbelievable character writing, it's still better than 90% of the utterly predictable (procedu

Not quite there for me yet, but I'm fast approaching. Looks like they will be stretching the Barney getting married mystery for another season. Last year was "who is Barney marrying?"; seems this year will be "why does Robin have cold feet and will they actually get married?". 8 seasons in and Ted has met his kids' mother's roommate and, I think, once passed her in the street, and now been on the same train platform. I think I'd prefer if they would stop teasing it, and just ignore it until they are ready to deal with it. If they're not going to get to the point of the story, better to just avoid it and continue on like some really long tangent. Every time they throw in a tease it makes you remember the premise of the show and, really, how ridiculous it is that he had to go that far back to tell the story. I'm guessing the show will end with Ted meeting their mother (special guest star ...), only to have the kids say "that's not mom's name". We then hear Bob Saget say "Right, that's how I met your biological mother. What happened to her, and how I met the woman who raised you, the only mother you've ever known, is another story. Two, actually". Either that, or CBS suddenly cancels the show, not allowing any opportunity to wrap it up.

Yes HIMYM is past it's prime and really pushing it... but if you really liked the series before, you still like it now... agreed though that they are really pushing it with the teasing and dragging it out on meeting the mom. As long as it's still better

What bugged me was the stupidity of the team. Instead of sealing off the police station, they just run off inside, all together. The crooks left by another door other than the main entrance? D'oh! Then, after finding the truck stuck in traffic, they confront them, surrounded by dozens, maybe hundreds, of civilians. The truck wasn't the kind of vehicle one would have a hard time keeping up with or keeping track of; why not follow it to a more secluded area? Or maybe even back to their hideout where Wo Fat might be (although, I guess that didn't occur to them since they assumed he would be with Delano's men). Curious to find out why she didn't shoot Wo Fat. Equally curious to know why he didn't shoot her. He was looking for Shelburne, but it seemed to me he also knew her (not having known she was Shelburne).

With HIMYM, I prefer it when the show isn't teasing the premise

Still a funny show (loved every second of Tom Lennon as Klaus).

<<I'm supprised that they revealed Eliabeth Mitchell's character still being alive so quickly, I assumed that they would wait until mid season or the finale.>> I honestly think they are giving you this so early, to try to avoid early cancellation. Shows are hardly given a chance anymore, so they can't afford to drag things out. I hate 90% of the casting for this, and the acting is horrible but the ONLY thing that keeps me watching right now, is GUS FRING. Well, Giancarlo Esposito anyway. haha

I also agree that the British chick is the only good actor on the show. Everyone else is... Decent. But not good enough.

After losing 15 percent of their ratings for the second part of episode 1, the ratings for episode 2 further eroded another 15 percent. This is about on-track for NBC's despised-by-almost everyone previous sci-fi nonsense venture THE EVENT. The next steps: * REVOLUTION yanked from schedule * REVOLUTION remaining eps burned off * REVOLUTION: 'The Complete First Season' (HAHAHAHAHAHA!) released on DVD. It's coming, people. Get ready. Oh, btw - NPR recently ran an article about why NOBODY should watch LAST RESORT or REVOLUTION because they'll just end up getting cancelled before they're resolved, anyway, so why get burned. Meanwhile, PARTNERS will still be on after REVOLUTION ends. Woot.
