John Ary here with my first report from Fantastic Fest 2012.
The festival kicked off this year with the world premiere of Tim Burton's latest stop-motion feature Frankenweenie.
The film has a lot of heart, several touching moments and an awesome showdown between a group of reanimated creatures. While its definitely a return to form for Burton, it feels like the director was pulled between his desire to make a macabre feature for fans of classic monster movies and Diseny's family friendly brand of entertainment.
