Not really sure why more people aren't watching this show. It's an evisceration of Hollywood. Don't we geeks love that stuff? And there's an abundance of hot chicks.

  • And Herc banned got angry since he spoke ill of a show that he had never seen and did so with horrible grammer. With Hercs 5 rules I'm supprised that no one has been banned from the political discussion since most of them get broken on a regular basis. But then is the rumor is true that the writers on this site get money for each post I could see how a moderator might look the other way since the vile back and forth drives the post count up greatly.

Hello guys. Hope all is well for everyone. McGoo, I think he was saying BB sucked or something, when he has never watched it. I agree with Herc.

    Masterchef

    by Itchy

has become perhaps my favorite of the 8000 cooking shows out there (maybe tied with Top Chef). It's got heart, drama, and most of the contestants are people you can actually relate to - not insane famewhores. That being said, I have a lot of questions about one of the finalists this season (Christine). How much help does she get ? I can't imagine working in my own kitchen - let alone a strange one - without being able to see. Another question I have is whether it's wrong that I really want to bang her. A sweet, hot asian chick who can cook like a champ and who can't see how fat I am these days ? That's a freaking home run right there.

She is awesome as hell and so talented. Josh should be runner up because with this exposure he will be a professional chef for the rest of his life.

Are you guys talking about me and my comment?

    by ajit maholtra

Everything I wrote is still there. The only thing removed from my posts was the title of that show that I guess Im not allowed to talk about. I never said "it sux" so I dont know why he put that in quotes like I said it. I came there to talk about 60 minutes and this mcgoo started getting mad at my opinion, and then I responded. And now I will go to another article because my opinion is not allowed here.

  • Sept. 10, 2012, 9:36 p.m. CST

    @ajit

    by MrLongbaugh

Calm down good buddy. Your opinion is welcome here. Not going back to look, but I think it had something to do with you calling a Navy S.E.A.L. a liar. A lot of Americans are very patriotic and he might have taken offense to the remark. McGoo is a good guy. I am sure you two could get along if you tried.

I understand what you are saying and it is highly debatable if Osama Bin Laden was really behing 9/11 or not. Everything that we think we know about him as a person is fed to us by the media and the U.S. Government. He used to be named Timothy Osman and had a short haircut and plain clothes in the 80's. At some point he became a CIA spook fighting against Russian military. The so-called 'confession' video of him talking about planning 9/11 and the towers falling is not him at all in that video. It's a double/lookalike that is a very obvious fake. Sort of like a totallylookslike of Conan O'Brien and Joel Edgerton. You can tell it is definitely not Bin Laden in that video. Right after 9/11 happened, Osama said unequivocally that he had nothing at all to do with it. This seems to have been forgotten now. The operation in Pakistan could have been another false flag operation like 9/11 might have been. This Mark Owen guy in heavy makeup said that Bin Laden's beard was black when he was shot but the video released shortly after Bin Laden's death showed him watching his shitty tv and he had a lot of white in his beard. Inconsistincies abound and this guy was in disguise. Zero evidence he is a real Navy Seal or another CIA Spook Actor to sell this story. I refer back to the iconic quote by Timothy Leary: Think for yourself, question authority.

alphas and wh 13 were not on last week

    by walt

alphas being very smart modifying powers without becoming absurd keeping the villain low key and not an emo or a psychotic the overall season arc is strong and the weekly epis, while borrowing from other shows, are still strong

  • we are both welcome to do this- I had nothing to do with having anything of yours removed Maybe the guy was a phony, maybe he wasn't I an not convinced one way or the other. Seen any good movies lately? Have anything else you want to talk about? I just come here and try to have fun. Sorry if I misjudged your opinion too harshly. Be well.

deaftone - interesting theories about Bin Laden-

    by Michael Lunney

deaftone - interesting theories about Bin Laden- THe US Govt. was for Bin Laden before it was against him- so who really knows what went down with ANY of this 9/11, war, and killing scenario we are supposed to just accept. WE were never at war with Oceania.....

  • sounds like you are trying to make some buddies around here- there are lots of good people who visit this site-sorry if we got off on the wrong foot do you like animation? What are your real geek interests, other than political? be well, buddy....

  • May we all remember those who are no longer with us with sober thoughts for the best America we can imagine. Maybe the partisan poitical sniping can take a day off today... ...while we ponder all that we have, all that we don't have, and all that we could have, that makes us such a great nation, indivisible... with liberty and justice for... well.. at least.... most.... Hey we all make mistakes.... NO nation is perfect...... but we can strive for that elusive perfection Peace to all friends, amigos, strangers, FELLOW AMERICANS!!!!! Be well today...

  • If not, then, well, different strokes, and all that, eh? I am really trying to reach out to you.. if you care.... Be well....

It seemed so close for the Masterchef finale

    by jim

They were so neck and neck, am I being cynical in thinking the final decision came down to "who do we think will sell more cookbooks"? If any of the final four had won I would have been happy. I think all four were deserving in their own way. Itchy, from what I understood, Christine can ask her helper questions about how things look, where stuff is at her station, but the helper can't touch the food other than when Christine tells her what to get from the pantry.

  • Over the season there were a couple of contestants I was glad to see go, but no one I was rooting for to succeed. Way too much focus this season on the "drama" behind the scenes. Honestly, at times it was like "Bad Girls Club" but with cooking. Why didn't Tiffany come back (she was eliminated after Patrick)? Were the producers worried she might choke someone out?

  • Sept. 11, 2012, 1:38 p.m. CST

Looks like no new Grimm for a couple of weeks

    by jim

NBC might have goofed by starting the season in August. I wonder how many watched after the Olympics but just assumed the second episode would air in September (just like for Go On & Animal Practice)? Speaking of NBC and the Olympics, shouldn't those networks with the rights to air the Olympics be obliged to also air at least some of the Paralympics? Apparently not. Forget about any pre-taped recaps in prime-time, I hardly saw any mention of it on the news.

  • Sept. 11, 2012, 2:20 p.m. CST

Hey mcgootoo - So where were you 11 years ago?

    by Paul

Its kind of ike the Kennedy Assasination, eveyone alie at the time seems to remember exactly where they were and what they were doing at the time that it happened, I wasn't born when he was killed, but I do remember where I was when the towers fell. This is what I posted on Facebook, I would hpe that some of the guys who usually like to go back and forth policially would show respect. I remember waking up 11 years ago and it seemed like a normal day, I believe that I was getting ready to take the Bart into San Francisco to Art School and I turned on Fox News and they were talking about how one of the towers had fallen, I felt disoriented a bit and it took a few minutes of watching to figure it all out. I got a call from the Academy of Art a little later saying that class was canceled, so I just stayed at home painting and watching the reports as they came in, it was a wierd feeling. A bit later I remember visiting some church people with another member of my church who had served in the armed forces and man was he angry that this had happened to our country. We talked about it a lot inbetween visits. I feel bad for all of those people who had lost their lives with the ultimate sacrifice and more importantly for those left behind that lost loved ones, But I also saw great heroisms, selflessness, service, caring and kindness along with a determination to make ourselves stronger with the measures that Bush started and that Obama continued. May we never forget the sacrifices and to remain a humble and serving people and may we never forget to keep the measures in place that allows us to protect ourselves and other countries.

That was nice, PA (and mgootoo too.. or as well)

    by gotilk

Nicely put. I'll never forget waking up to my roommate telling me we're under attack. The second plane had not hit yet, but he was sure. Then I was. Then we really were, after a very short time. Then I saw a student walk by the house and she was crying. That image, along with all of the others that day, will stick with me forever. If I ran into her now, I would immediately recognize her as I would a member of my own family. That was a day of indelible moments. Today it feels like it all happened yesterday. Mgootoo: I recently re-initiated an old friendship. Well, as it turns out, he's become pretty conservative and I've become guardedly liberal (on many social issues, some economic, but find myself listening with interest to more moderate Republicans and I have an almost hate/love crush on Ayn Rand.. so there's that) as opposed to what I've been in the past, which was pretty far left of what people now call liberal extremism (you know, like affordable housing... ROFL.. sorry). In the last few weeks we've been back in touch we've had some pretty serious discussions and not once have we insulted one another, or called the others ideas stupid/wrong. I'm going to try even harder today to remain civil and hop that it carries over into tomorrow and beyond. Thanks.

    by jay2517

i used to have a clean up shop and had a cool route that id run for a couple hours in the early morning (usually 3-5:30 or six depending how big the bundles were). a buddy of mine worked 3rd and we'd sometime have *afternoon* cook outs around 10-11am (it was funny as hell to watch the looks of peoples faces buying steaks and a case of beer 7:30 in the morning!) and he said he prob would come by. so, i went out and got the stuff and started getting it ready. i saw my (ex) wife and little lady (she was 10 months old at the time) off to work and to the *sitter*, and waited to hear from my buddy. well, i stayed up to a certain time anyway and was just killing time switching through the channels when i came across The Today Show after the first plane hit, and i actually watched the 2nd plane hit IN REAL TIME. it blew my freaking mind. i saw that second plane and was, *what the fuck*??? then BOOM. what made the horrible situation worse was my wife was training out of town. and i didnt know WHICH sitter my little girl was at. i mean, i didnt really think or care WHERE my wife was training at or WHICH sitter my little girl was staying at cause they would be home at their normal times....normally.....BUT, I CARED NOW. and i promised myself that i would never NOT KNOW again. the reason was (and this is what alot of people forget) is that NO ONE KNEW the extent or possible extent of the attacks. i mean, literally, it COULD HAPPEN TO UR LOVED ONES AT ANY SECOND THAT DAY. plus, cell phones being in their infancy, u could NOT get through to anyone. land lines were locked and those few hours were EXCRUCIATING. safe to say, i eventually talked to and got everyone home safe that day, but the rest of the day and week was just....numbness. the only *good* feeling was finally getting my wife home and HOLDING my little girl. every year i tear up. and i always will...

  • Sept. 11, 2012, 4:35 p.m. CST

pa - I was sitting in a dentist chair getting my teeth worked on when...

    by Michael Lunney

someone walked into the room and said a plane hit one of the towers It seemed odd, but not all that earth shattering until... she came in a second time and said another plane also hit..... then the truth and the reality hit me hard. We were attacked. Plain. Simple. Scary. Stunned. When I got back to work , I tried to lessen the heaviness of it all by walking into my work area and proclaiming to everyone: I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! My misplaced sense humor was appropriately met with stone cold silence. I guess I didn't know enough about what had hapened to have it really sink in, what the tragedy really was and why it happened and who did it. THe other thing that I vividly remember was the hysterical media coverage, the world was coming to an end was how it felt watching it on a portable TV and listening to it on the radio. Bu then walking outside, away from all that, and the sky was sunny, the birds were tweeting and everything seemed calm, just like any other day before this happened. That stark difference will always be with me. I felt weirdly empty, and normal, all at the same time. . Our world had changed forever and it took a while for it to sink in. Then the anthrax scare started and the rest is history. Part of my job was doing mailroom duties, until I got up to speed on my real copywriting duties which became my job full-time. It was a very scary time for a while there. For ALL of us. WE should remember how we felt then, the next time one feels compelled to insult someone over their political differences, to feel superior or to feel your politics are the only politics that matter. WE need to work more together as a nation, and compromise more instead of insisting on only one way that can work. Be well my friend.

gotlik - Man I miss the LOST talkbacks, anyways its interesting how stuff like that can make such an impression in our lives with how you can still remember the girls face. jay2517 - Your a good guy buddy, I was married but didn't have kids at that time, I imagine that would be scary not knowing where they were. mcgootoo - I guess I have a wierd sence of humor because I thought your "I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!" was funny. It is interesting what perspective can do for you, a lot of times we make such a huge deal of personal problems (not talking about something like 9/11) when if we step out of ourselves and see what others are going through our problems can seem smaller. I remember the 24/7 news around that time and whe we invaded Iraq and that crazyness and then just walking outside and seeing the sun rise and set like it always does.

there is a monument in dublin city

    by emeraldboy

to the people who died in the dublin, monaghan bombings. They will never get justice, the british govt knows who committed that atrocity. British govt has refused to hold an inquiry of any kind and the irish govt held one but the british govt refused to hand over the necessary security files and that inquiry died. as has the inquiry into the murder of pat finucane who was a lawyer. as did the inquiry into the murder of rosemary nelson. Nelson and Finucane were murdered by loyalists because they took on Nationalist and republican cases. Gerry adams and Martin Mcguinness were rewarded for taking steps for peace. they have refused to apologise for their involvement in the troubles. the real ira exist because the provisional Ira did. The travers family were walking back from church. Mary travers was shot dead by an ira unit in 1986. her father a judge was shot 9 times. Ira has never apologised for that blatant murdered/attempted murder. one of the gang involved in that attack, who was implicated in 7 other murders would only say that it was a tragic mistake. her reward after being let out of jail, and supporting the good friday agreement was to get a job in the Department of Education, where he boss was minister Martin McGuinness, now deputy first minister and former leader of the Ira in Derry. The man who brought imperfect peace to Ireland was Tony Blair. who is the same man who bombed iraq and sucked up to GWB. I cannot stand tony blair.
