The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day is very drunk and it intends on getting still drunker before this evening’s over.
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
My favorite aspect of today’s picture from the set of Gone With The Wind is the way all the male crew members are either looking at Vivien Leigh with adoration or at Clark Gable with annoyance (check out the dude between the two actors to see what I mean). And do you see that mafia lookin’ dude above annoyed guy that looks like he’s about to kidnap Leigh? What’s his story?

I have it recorded on my Betamax....the ad shows him alone on a stark set, and he says "By the time you see this, I will be dead..." Absolutely chilling. I lost my best friend to COPD 7 years ago. She worked in the entertainment industry and smoked several packs a day. I can't tell you how many times I tried to get her to cut down, even a little. I have never smoked and never will. She died way to young and went through hell in the hospital before she left us. I implore anyone in this forum to PLEASE think twice before starting the habit or quit. It's not easy, but we need good people in this day and age.

Imagine the kissing scenes they endured. Like french-kissing a wild boar with tooth decay, I imagine. Maybe that's why people in that pic are shooting Mr. Rhett Butler such sour glances . Look at that guy framed between Gable and Leigh. Is that a "PEEE-YOO!" face or what?

When do the skilled "writers" of today get to ruin this classic picture? What ever happened to baby jane is in the same rank as this, they are set to ruin that classic why not this one?.. Heres an even better idea when is a major motion picture corporation going to hire an actual writer who knows who to write instead of just rehashing movies i paid to see in theaters already? My stub from the great movies of the 80s such as Footloose should have given me full right to download the pos remake! This movie like casablanca is a timeless classic great pic from the set of very talented actors of thier day, to bad its more then likely some idiot will allow a remake to be done of this and it will suck like every other remake has since roughly planet of the apes.....

a visually striking film, but the content makes it unwatchable, IMO

That scene wherein the slaves are happily matching off to fight for the Confederacy. She's like, "Where you going?" And the dude is like, "We's goin' ta war!" All smiley and shit. I found myself wishing every white member of the cast were depicted being drawn and quartered. Also, Butterfly McQueen was awful and annoying. If not for its cinematic perfection, I couldn't have sat through the picture.

I just happened to see that Ad approx 27 years ago. Made quite an impression on me. Was not long after I quit for good. I have thanked him more times that I can say. Don't know if he can hear me, but I have told Yul his DID help at least on person.

...it's impossible to have any *good guys* in any film set before 1900, with the possible exception of SPARTACUS. The good guys in THE LAST SAMURAI, for example? Fucking monsters. Any film set in the Middle Ages that doesn't focus solely on the experiences of serfs? The protagonist is a fucking monster. Because they are holding a spot in a social pyramid built on cruelty and monstrosity...just like Scarlett.

Never to be seen again: That's how i felt once i saw this bloated, so-called epic. Love Clark Gable, but the sullen iconography of this picture makes it too difficult to accept as a supposed "Classic"; The movie is too drawn out and meanders too long on the central relationship of the principal characters...Oh well - I'm just not a big fan of it. And bloody hell!! leave poor Morgan Freeman alone. The dudes, God...apparently.

Guess what, kids, there was life before you were born and most of it was not pleasant. Slavery existed, but now it's gone, force those balls to drop and come to the big people table and discuss such things with objectivity and intelligence... k? As for GWTW, not one of the favorites, but only because I do not like looooong movies and Scarlett is a real bitch, but then that's the point I suppose. Gable is a cool mofo though... dig his shit real good.

Got stuck at a church youth group watching this once. Got so bored that my girlfriend at the time decided to sneak out and make out with me until the movie ended (an hour and a half later). God she was nubile and hot.
