The first day after the Republican National Convention put "The Rachel Maddow Show" in a demo tie with "The O'Reilly Factor."  O'Reilly was, as usual, beaten soundly by "The Colbert Report," a show that usually only mocks him Monday through Thursday.

Nothing big so far, but my best friend is here for our regular Friday get together, and we are about to put on a really bad movie that we hope is at least campy fun, The Maltese Bippy, from 1969, starring Rowan and Martin. Something to be able to mock and talk over, a good bad Friday night let's relax and have fun movie. Maybe some 100 year old silent short comedies from TCM, and some Peter Gunn as well, or maybe some old Afred Hitrchcock presents. Hope all is well with you.

    obijuanmartinez, we need a witch

    by Marc Cerasini

We need a witch to fix the Obama No-conomy. 95,000 American jobs "created" last month 176,000 Americans were so desperate they went on food stamps last month 11,000 of those "created" jobs were ConEd workers here in NYC going back to work after a strike economists expected 160,000 jobs You need 150,000 each month just to keep up with the population Ronald Reagan inherited a worse economy and at this point in his first term over a million jobs a month were being created I'll take a witch, Ronald Reagan's ghost, or Mitt over the village idiot in the WH any day!

  • Sept. 7, 2012, 8:53 p.m. CST

Yeah, because the economy exists in a total vacuum

    by Toe Jam

And Reagan simply willed those 1 million jobs into existence. Had nothing to do with contributing factors that were completely out of any one person's (or administration's) control. Nothing at all.

    Toe Jam, Contributing factors

    by Marc Cerasini

Like not regulating or taxing businesses out of existence, maybe? I know you guys don't like facts, they get in the way of your preconceived notions, but there they are. A president can create a friendly or hostile environment for employers and employees. Reagan did the former, Obama the latter. My business was ready to hire a full time assistant--until my family's health care costs tripled, and that money went to the insurance company that wrote the Obamacare laws, not to employing some young person. Ignorance is bliss. That must be why everyone here is so fucking happy.

  • Sept. 7, 2012, 9:20 p.m. CST

Or maybe Obama's laser focus on jobs

    by Marc Cerasini

Could include a meeting of his supposed "Job Council" who haven't met in six months. Or maybe they shouldn't meet at all. Obama's jobs council is made up executives who have outsourced more jobs than anyone at Bain ever imagined, starting with that fucktard that runs GE (and closed the entire X-Ray manufacturing division in the USA and moved it to China six months ago). Facts are terrible, wonderful things...

The Five ‘Reasons' to Re-elect Obama

    by MrLongbaugh

By Larry Elder | Larry Elder – Thu, Sep 6, 2012 The case for re-electing President Barack Obama rests on five arguments, the most important of which is that Romney/Ryan represent sexism, racism, homophobia and fascism. 1) Obama "inherited" the worst set of economic conditions since World War II. False. Based on unemployment, inflation and interest rates, the recession of 1981-82 was worse. Unemployment during the early '80s reached 10.8 percent, inflation 13.5 percent, and prime interest rates reached 21.5 percent. During this so-called "Great Recession," the numbers peaked at 10.2 unemployment, 5.6 percent inflation and 7.25 percent for the prime interest rate. 2) Obama's economic policies "rescued the economy from falling off a cliff." False. Nearly 350 economists, including several Nobel laureates, publicly urged Obama to following the path President Reagan pursued — cutting taxes, slowing the growth of domestic spending and continuing deregulation. Most business economists think Obama's "stimulus" plan accomplished little, if anything, with some academic economists, like Stanford's John Taylor, believing that stimulus actually made things worse: "I just don't think there's any evidence. When you look at the numbers, when you see what happened, when people reacted to the stimulus, it did very little good." TARP, begun under President George W. Bush, supposedly prevented financial institutions from collapsing. But Neil Barofsky, in his new book called "Bailout: An Inside Account of How Washington Abandoned Main Street While Rescuing Wall Street," argues that TARP completely failed in its mission: to increase liquidity to jumpstart lending. The reason for intervention in the first place is that banks had become "too big too fail." Not only did the banks park the money and make risk-free profits off the spread, but banks became bigger than ever after TARP. ObamaCare promises to provide health insurance to nearly 30 million Americans currently uninsured. Obama said it would bend the health care cost curve down, that it would decrease the deficit and that if you like your doctor or your current health insurance plan, you can keep it. But Jonathan Gruber, the economist who designed both RomneyCare and ObamaCare, now admits some are going to pay more — and some a lot more — for their health insurance: "It is true that even after tax credits some individuals are 'losers,' in that they pay more than before (Obama's) reform." Rick Foster, the chief Medicare actuary, testified that it is "false, more so than true" that ObamaCare bends down the cost curve. He also said it is "not true in all cases" that if you like your plan you can keep your plan. What about the "investments" in the green jobs of the future? At $529 million dollars of lost taxpayer money, Solyndra is one of many money-hemorrhaging "clean energy" flops. Other belly-flops backed by federal loans include Beacon Power and Abound Solar. A Washington Post investigation traced $3.9 billion in grants and financing to 21 companies that were backed by firms connected to five Obama administration staffers and advisors. Cronyism? 3) Bush's irresponsible tax cuts and "unpaid-for wars" of Afghanistan and Iraq caused the deficit. False. Obama frequently bemoans the "cost" of $700 billion in tax cuts for "millionaires and billionaires." CNN's Fareed Zakaria blames the "Bush tax cuts" for the deficit. But the $700 billion Obama speaks of is spread over 10 years. This comes to a mere 5 percent of the deficit. As to the costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, a study by Brown University estimates the costs at between $3.2 trillion and $4 trillion. This, too, is over about 10 years (the approximate duration of the wars), or an average of $360 billion per year. This comes out to about 25 percent of the estimated $1.5 trillion deficit. 4) We are better off now than four years ago. A new poll for the Washington paper The Hill found 52 percent of likely voters believe the country is now in "worse condition" than four years ago, while 31 percent believe it's in "better condition." After accounting for inflation, median household income dropped 2.6 percent during the 18-month recession. It fell another 4.8 percent from the start of the "recovery" through June 2012. Unemployment stood at 7.8 percent when Obama entered the White House. It is 8.3 percent right now. We've added over $6 trillion in new debt in the last four years — and the deficit tripled since Bush's last full year in office. 5) The other guys — former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan — are worse: sexist, racist, homophobic and fascist. The chairman of the California Democratic Party, John Burton, following the Republican convention, gave us this preview of coming attractions: "(Republicans) lie, and they don't care if people think they lie. As long as you lie, (Nazi propaganda minister) Joseph Goebbels — the big lie — you keep repeating it." Welcome to the 2012 Democratic National Convention: Republican attendees are advised to keep their sheets and hoods at home.

I've not read much of Taibbi's written work, but have always enjoyed him on "Real Time." I've long been dismayed by the number of Obama haters who dismiss and ridicule his time as a "community organizer," as if that's something appalling and vile. Yet many of those same people will happily vote for a vacuous automaton who spent several decades as nothing more than a corporate pirate. There's nothing wrong with the pursuit of money, but it's clear Romney didn't allow morals or ethics or even common decency to stop him in his money-grabbing. I simply cannot -- and will not -- vote for such a despicable person. He has directly and brazenly cost thousands of Americans their jobs, yet he has the audacity to campaign on a platform of debt reduction. Pretty stomach-churning. And must America always be saddled with these rich Republican candidates with severe daddy issues?

...so 6 million more people watched the DNC than the RNC... ...and Obama is in the midst of a convention bounce of three to seven points among every major pollster before the last of the convention has even been factored in. Even the most Republican friendly of the majors, Ramussen, shows a three point Obama swing. So the RNC established a new standard by which a candidate actually lost a point in post-convention polling... ...and the DNC is showing a bounce from just the first two days. I mean, if might just be the continued effect of the RNC...

  • Sept. 8, 2012, 10:18 a.m. CST

Oh Jay, I understand your metaphor just fine...

    by Uncle Pooky

Here, I'll demonstrate: Let's use football as the metaphor for any discussion you and I would have. The *goalpost*, or more specifically, kicking the ball through the uprights of the goalpost, would be the designated measurement of *making a coherent and intelligent, well thought out comment.* Now, using said metaphor, we could actually put the goalpost that represents you (meaning, the goalpost I'm trying to get to) a mile outside of the stadium, make it 25 feet tall and the uprights 3 feet wide, while at the same time putting the goalpost you're trying to get to at the 50 yard line, make it 50 feet wide and lower it to a foot off the ground.... and I would still outscore you to an embarrassing degree. What I'm trying to infer there, sweet jay2517, is that I am vastly more intelligent than you. Proven, of course, by the fact that I don't run from the discussion, especially when I can't BS my way out of it.

  • Sept. 8, 2012, 10:33 a.m. CST

Of an hey, Jay, you were right about something...

    by Red Ned Lynch

...smarter people will now debunk the unsourced, nonsensical right wind spew hans cut and pasted... First, about the deficit. You know, Hans and Elder was right that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq ONLY account for 25% of the deficit. But there's lying by omission, too. Hey Hans want to cut and paste the amount of the deficit caused by the Bush tax cuts? First, Hans, Jay, the kids...want to follow this link to a Forbes article...that's Forbes, by the way...that lays out in terms so simple even you should be able to understand...the cold hard fact that federal spending has increased at a smaller rate under President Obama than any US president since Ike? http://tinyurl.com/c6b2acy Bush II, for instance, increased federal spending during his two terms by 15.4%. That was over eight years, though, so to be fair if you extrapolated the increase in spending in the Obama administration's first three years... ...1.8% over that same time... ...oh yeah, you'd still only get about 5%. Once again, those are Forbes numbers. So now like the Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, and Market Watch I've cited over these last few threads, Forbes must now be considered a liberal mouthpiece. Geez... Further, the CBO report is pretty clear about what the causes of the deficit are, and when they happened... ...before President Obama's first budget went into effect, the federal debt held by the public was projected by the CBO in August 2009 to rise to 65.9% of GDP by the end of 2012. That was an increase of 32.6% from the projection given by the CBO in January 2008 before the impacts of the financial collapse and recession were recognized (33.3%). According to the August 2012 projection from the CBO that figure is now expected to be 72.8%, just 6.9% higher than the 65.9 %. FOR the reading challenged let me break it down. Projecting the Bush tax cuts into the future (as Romney promises to do) make up the largest slice of the projected deficit. The Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and the decrease in revenues projected by the CBO at the height of the Bush economic meltdown duel for second place. So anyway, Hans, Elder just forgot to tell you all that stuff. Wonder why? Even so...just 25%? Oh my gosh. And look fellas', I know the Congressional Budget Office, Forbes, Business Insider, all the rest, are just part of that big ole' liberal conspiracy to try to tell you the truth. They're probably behind the contrails and the Denver Airport, too.

If you have a million dollars or more...

    by Andrew Coleman

In your bank account it makes total sense to vote for Mittens. If you're "middle class" and voting for Romney you're essentially committing suicide. It's as simple as that. Republicans have done a very good job of rallying up angry white people over 50 by using racism and religious bull shit... But in the end a Mittens win is great if you got lots of money. Bad if you don't. Obama should win but I think anger/racism/stupidity will win out. Watching America become China 2 under Romney and the Nazi looking guy will be HILARIOUS!

Oh, sorry, it was Mr.Longbaugh who posted the...

    by Red Ned Lynch

...right wing nonsense. Sorry, early in the morning. Hans had done the last rightwing no nothing cut and paste. All right, the dumb one about most economists agreeing that the Obama stimulus did nothing for the economy. Here's a nice link to Freakonomics that actually debunks most of the Republican talking points... http://tinyurl.com/d5vwtlu ...but here's an even better one... http://tinyurl.com/6n7djf9 That's an actual link to the results of a comprehensive survey of economists (so different than just a right wing zealot saying so). 93% agree that unemployment is lower because of the stimulus. 60% agree that the overall effects of the stimulus factoring in costs and long-term effects as well as the impact on employment, will be a net positive. With 26% percent choosing uncertain because economists (like most of those actual experts the right wing can't stand want to be sure they're right before expressing an opinion). So anyway, Mr. Longbaugh, here is absolute evidence that your guy just lied to you. He wrote something that is easily and demonstrably proven to be a lie. There are the pictures of our leading economists, right on the site. There are their answers. Your guy lied. What else do you think he might be lying about? And do you really like being taken for a sucker?

  • Sept. 8, 2012, 11:04 a.m. CST

And I understand this is where you...

    by Red Ned Lynch

Those are your facts! Leading economists are all liberals!

  • Sept. 8, 2012, 11:17 a.m. CST

Sorry...it is early in the morning...used quotes...

    by Red Ned Lynch

But I do understand this is the spot where you shout that all leading economists are liberals. You can't trust them. But there are supply siders on that list, too, just look at their bios. I know, anyone who disagrees becomes a Rino, no matter their pedigree. Whatever is not forbidden in mandatory. But it doesn't change the real fact here, Mr. Longbaugh. The guy you cut and pasted said the majority of economists said one thing. And they say the opposite. He lied to you. Not only that he lied to you without attribution, without a source, he just flat out lied, believing you'd take him at his word. Now that poll I linked you to names every economist who took part. Gives their bios. Has little pictures of them...and economists are not a purty bunch. So now, Mr. Longbaugh, you have to decide whether you want to believe... ...what this right wing shyster said leading economists said... ...or what the leading economists said. The fact is he cold lied, figuring the people who read him wouldn't check on his lie. Playing you for suckers. Laughing at the chumps he tricked because they were just going to buy his line. And they're can't even be an argument on this one. I linked TO the leading economists. You can see what they thought. He lied to you about this. Shamelessly. Just figuring you were dumb enough to buy his line. So what are you going to trust him about now? I know there's no reaching someone like Jay. But I think you maybe have enough pride to resent someone just flat out lying to you and figuring you for too ignorant to go anywhere else to find out the truth. But hey, I could be wrong.

  • Fringe Boss Teases Three-Part Series Finale — But When Will It Air? Matt Webb Mitovich Fringe showrunner J.H. Wyman is taking a particularly hands-on role in ushering the show into the sunset by directing the series finale. But when that sci-fi swan song will air is up for debate. Earlier this week, Wyman himself told a fan on Twitter that the series finale would air Feb. 1, 2013. Fox declined to confirm that date; sources tell TVLine the finale will air sometime after Jan. 1, however. The fifth and final season, premiering Sept. 28, will have “two little breaks,” Wyman suggested to TVLine during our fall preview interview. “Four [episodes], and then two… and the rest is a[n uninterrupted] run-on” — landing the finale in mid-January, at least. And while the twisty-turny saga will not culminate in any sort of two-hour TV-movie — “It’s definitely going to be in the one-hour slot,” Wyman says — Episodes 11, 12 and 13 “are like a three-parter,” he shares. All told, Wyman envisions and is structuring Fringe’s farewell tour “as a 13-hour feature film type of thing, like a saga, because I feel that’s the best way to tell the end.” http://tvline.com/2012/09/08/fringe-series-finale-airdate-j-h-wyman-director/

Yeah I love Avengers and am sorry to see it go away. Sucks that it got canned instead of Spideman, wish that it was the other way around. I heard that if they would have gotten a 3rd season of Avengers it would have focused on Mutants (Im a huge X-Men fan) and a lot more of the space stories. I'm causiously opptomistic about the new Avengers series thats supposed to be more in the movie style/universe.

Now pa burrows, you are right about that job's report...

    by Red Ned Lynch

However to remind folks of what happens when a Republican is in office and where Obama started: G.W. Bush: Total jobs created in eight years: 3.0 million Jobs, End of Term: 135.5 million Jobs, Beginngin of Term: 132.5 million Payroll Expansion: 2.3% Jobs Created by Year in Office: 375,000 Population Growth: 22.0 million Figures from the Murdoch owned Wall Street Journal. Here's the link: http://tinyurl.com/9ylluu Also from the Murdoch owned Wall Street Journal: As of July, Obama is averaging +0.84 percent annual job growth in his term. That places him ahead of Bush, who saw +0.51 percent growth in his first term and -0.84 percent in his second term. And although the claim we heard at the DNC that Obama has already created more jobs than Bush did during his entire 8 years is false... ...Bush actually had a net loss of jobs in his SECOND term... ...while Obama has been making up for a total of 2.9 million jobs lost in his first six months in office, before the stimulus, a period fully shaped by the Bush economic program to which Republicans now want to return, Over the most recent 18 months of the Obama administration, approximately 2.8 million jobs have been added. Historically that's not very good. But it is always good to put these things into context.

Jay I know you don't know what words mean...

    by Red Ned Lynch

...but you're repeating talking points. Facts are sourced. Fact based arguments must be based on well...facts. Facts are things like CBO reports, the actual expressed opinions of economists, studies done by places like the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Business Insider. And yeah, I do love using conservative sources. It makes me all warm inside. Saying nuh-uh, you're a big nasty-pants liar!...that's what you're doing. You saying something does not make it a fact, Jay. You slobbering: That's aicn progressive bs! does not constitute an argument. It's more what we'd consider an episode.

  • Sept. 8, 2012, 6:10 p.m. CST

    Jay's Next Post...

    by Red Ned Lynch

...I love how these aicn progressives have to get all these cited facts from newspapers and experts and post them here. Then I just wipe my butt and prove them wrong with my ass facts! It's not even hard! Every time I wipe my hands get covered! They do all their reading and learning and I just slop my ass facts all over it. Then they all start deflecting by sticking their noses in the air and going back to talking about their distorted experts and studies and learning. But I know they're deflecting my ass facts 'cause they just can't touch them. Sometimes they even move the goalposts back to their book reading facts. My ass facts are so powerful they just turn their heads! But they can't wipe away my ass facts! Just let them try. I'll smear them! Anyway, Jay, I know you're just sure as you could be that you're right. But your opinions do not become facts by virtue of you managing to master a keyboard well enough to type them out. Your keyboard is not a magic reality creating machine. But please, continue. Hey, earlier you said that this conservative commenter that Mr. Longbaugh cut and pasted somehow proved something. Let's take that thing about it being the consensus of economists saying that the stimulus didn't save jobs. Refute that, you brave little refuter. With...you know...sources other than your digestive tract.

    by Red Ned Lynch

...you know that number comes from the CBO. How can you believe the CBO's projection... ...and reject their analysis of where it came from? Seriously, what is it inside you that permits that level of just deluded dishonesty? You're repeating a figure that came from the Congressional Budget Office... ...while at the same time rejecting the math they used to get the figure. Do you have any idea how irrational you are? I only repeat this because some may have missed the breakdown of the CBO's numbers above...you know, the ones by which they arrived at the total you're quoting. 1.8%. Not my number, Jay. Forbes. I linked to it. You can try to really refute it, if you want, after you finish with that economist thing.

    @red ned lynch

    by MrLongbaugh

First of all Larry Elders is not *my guy". I haven't said anything. ALL I did was the hated copy and paste of an article I saw with a catchy headline. I never said anything. I never said anything about where I stand on any issues. I didn't say I believed him or that I didn't believe him. I never said I supported his statements. I just posted an article. And take a look at the responses it resulted in. Sep 08, 2012 9:09:59 AM CDT Anyone willing to pin their hopes on Larry Elder is clearly delusional. by mr. nice gaius After all, he thinks we actually found those fabled WMDs in Iraq. I don't know what it is about far-right conservatives and radio personalities but fucking hell, man. So mr. nice gaius chimes in first with these polite comments. Because I posted the article, *"Anyone willing to pin their hopes on Larry Elder is clearly delusional. That's not a very nice thing to say. And I am also called a far-right conservative. @red ned lynch And then we have you. I like these polite, classy, intelligent remarks. You first thought it was Hans who posted the article. *smarter people will now debunk the unsourced, nonsensical right wind spew hans cut and pasted" So, you are smarter? *FOR the reading challenged let me break it down* For the reading challenged? More insults. You then follow with the post. Sep 08, 2012 10:57:48 AM CDT *Oh, sorry, it was Mr.Longbaugh who posted the... by red ned lynch ...right wing nonsense.* So, even though I have posted nothing about My stance on the issues. *Sorry, early in the morning. Hans had done the last rightwing no nothing cut and paste.* So a rightwing KNOW nothing cute and paste? But someone who believes as you do can cut and paste and it is ok? *So anyway, Mr. Longbaugh, here is absolute evidence that your guy just lied to you. He wrote something that is easily and demonstrably proven to be a lie.* He didn't lie to me. I just posted an article he wrote. *Your guy lied.* As I previously stated, he is not my guy. *What else do you think he might be lying about?* I don't know or care. He could be lying about his name for all I know. Don't really care. *And do you really like being taken for a sucker?* So, the name calling begins and I am called a sucker. And you follow up with this gem. Sep 08, 2012 11:17:08 AM CDT Sorry...it is early in the morning...used quotes... by red ned lynch But I do understand this is the spot where you shout that all leading economists are liberals. Once again, he didn't lie to ME. I would say that he made statements that YOU feel are lies. Like I have said before, I posted the article to see what the response would be. And red, good buddy, you didn't let me down. *Playing you for suckers* Once again you call me a sucker, LOL. *Laughing at the chumps he tricked because they were just going to buy his line* Now, I am a chump, LOL. Ok. *Just figuring you were dumb enough to buy his line.* Now, you are calling me dumb. Yes? *So what are you going to trust him about now?* Again....I NEVER said I trusted him. I NEVER SAID ANYTHING!!! *But I think you maybe have enough pride to resent someone just flat out lying to you and figuring you for too ignorant to go anywhere else to find out the truth. But hey, I could be wrong.* So...NOW you are calling me ignorant. Making yourself look real good here red. Sep 08, 2012 11:19:00 AM CDT Sorry for the grammar, folks. by red ned lynch Like I said, I just woke up. they're...sheesh. They are.....? Run out of names to call someone or insults to make? And EVEN as I type this, you are still mentioning me. * Hey, earlier you said that this conservative commenter that Mr. Longbaugh cut and pasted somehow proved something.* Are you done? Or are you just getting started? Now...let's get started. *Sep 06, 2012 10:19:58 PM CDT mr longbaugh... by red ned lynch ,,,you've certainly made it clear that you have some issues with Stalkeye. They are certainly none of my business. Further, I don't come to aicn to discuss politics. I have never and will never be the first person to introduce politics to a thread here. But I don't like bullies and although I've certainly lost my share of fights I've never backed down from one. Jay is a bully. I read two consecutive threads filled with his bullying before he annoyed me enough to inspire me to engage him. And because you were trafficking with him this morning I included you in my comment. As of now you and I are quit. That's not to say I might not argue with you again in the future. Who knows, we might even agree sometime.* First of all, I respect the way you spoke to me and didn't resort to any name calling or making insults. Ok...I posted an article written by this Elder guy. One post...and you then proceed to make 5 posts directed to me? Is that correct? * But I don't like bullies and although I've certainly lost my share of fights I've never backed down from one.* You don't like bullies? Is that correct? Because the way the way I see it, you and quite a few others wasted no time in coming after me. Would you agree with that? A couple of more and I think I will have made my point. *As of now you and I are quit.* That certainly didn't last long, LOL!!! *That's not to say I might not argue with you again in the future.* You and the others are arguing with yourselves. I haven't stated my views on anything. Would you agree with that? *Who knows, we might even agree sometime.* Let's try this out. I responded to a question by one of my friends concerning Paul Ryan. I was asked what I thought of him. Here is my response to his question, along with my response to being called a Pro- Abortion, Birther, Tea Party fuck. *As for your question about Paul Ryan? I don't particularly care for him. I don't like that abortion even in the case of rape or incest is illegal. I don't personally care for abortion. But I don't get pregnant and have babies, women do. I don't think I have the right to tell another person, man, woman, young, old, rich, poor, white, black, brown, blue, yellow, green, whatever...to do with THEIR bodies. I don't think the Government should have that right or power either. I can only hope they really don't go after it. Just leave Wade vs. Roe as it is and move on. It has been on the books for 39 years now. Just leave it be. I am not a Birther. Never have been. I just think that if anyone had any HARD evidence to say otherwise, he would have never made it to where he is. I am not a member of the Tea Party. I have never been to any gathering or what have you where the Tea Party was present or responsible for. I don't know anyone that has ever been associated with the Tea Party.* NOW...I have stated my beliefs on a few topics. Watch how I do this. Red, how do you feel about abortion? Are you a Birther? Are you or have you ever been associated with the Tea Party Movement? Did you see how I did that? Not that it matters, but I do know someone who joined the Occupy movement last week. He is a good guy. We can discuss anything under the sun, including Politics, without behaving like I see many others on here doing.

You can scroll up and see for yourself in case you don't believe me or forgot you wrote it. See how you're full of shit? You write that I never state what I was talking about, and then later you completely contradict yourself by admitting that I stated I was talking about another article! An article, which, if memory serves correct, you have refused to discuss. Also, don't you think it's kind of weird that you keep referring back to this *blanket statement*? I mean, do you really think you're accomplishing anything by reminding anyone you know what a blanket statement is? It's not like my blanket statement was wrong - It was 100% factual. So why do you keep bringing it up?

Couldn't agree more, jay... your posts ARE warped facts and logic!

    by Uncle Pooky

Finally, you come around to agreeing with me. Whew. Keep on thinking you *called me out.* That's a very odd way of saying you made a mistake, thought you could double-talk your way out of it, and unfortunately were bested in every way by a superior intellect. It's cool buddy. shit happens. Mostly when you open your mouth, but my point remains. By the way - I love how you are now posting the link to my evidence that you were wrong in your posts while at the same time refusing to acknowledge it even exists. Truly, you must utterly fear me.

    Mr Longbaugh...

    by Red Ned Lynch

...first, thank you so very much for painstakingly reposting so many of my words. I like them too, but I would never go to the trouble of cutting and repasting them in the way you have. I'm touched, and again, thank you. Second, I am glad you have informed me that you cut and paste documents you find on-line because you think they have catchy titles, without endorsing, or seemingly even being aware of their content. It seems an unrewarding hobby, but to each his own. In the future I will take into account your peculiar avocation of randomly reposting extremist political falsehoods based on your perceptions about the catchiness of their titles. And let me tell you, am I relieved to find out you don't endorse any of the falsehoods and idiocies in that piece of nonsense. Of course the fact that you don't endorse or stand behind anything in the clot of extremist bullshit you reposted (due to its catchy title) means the rest of your post is meaningless. I did say that this Elder mouthpiece was calling you a fool and playing you for a sucker by expecting you to just believe him... ...which, by the way, isn't me calling you those things. It's me saying that he's calling you those things... But that wouldn't apply to you, since you only posted his pack of lies on a lark, because of the catchy title. One thing. It's not that I disagree with him. He said the leading economists are saying one thing. I provided you a link to a survey of the nation's leading economists. It names them. It gives bios. It has photos. Those are out nation's leading economists, from across the political spectrum. They don't say what he says they say. The gentleman whose work you reposted but in no way are willing to stand behind, or take ownership of, whose work you say you only posted because you thought it had a catchy title... ...he is a liar. He said a group of people said one thing. I linked you to that group of people saying the opposite. You can choose to belileve that the nation's leading economists are wrong. That is your right. But the man whose words you reposted (without defended or supporting or for all I know at this point, even reading) is a liar. Anyway, I'm terribly relieved you don't actually believe that bullshit. Personally, I didn't think it was that catchy a title, either, but that's okay. And thanks again for reposting so many of my words. Always great to find someone who likes them even more than I do.

    Oh Jay...

    by Red Ned Lynch

...of course you don't have to use as many words. A baby only takes a second to shit its pants. It takes much longer to clean them. A child can knock over a lamp with one unthinking kick of a foot. It takes time to clean up the glass. A Republican administration can take record surplusses and turn them into record deficits within the first three years of taking office and bring the greatest economy on earth to the brink of destruction in eight. It takes... ...oh sweetie, that's why you think Obama should have already fixed things. You don't understand how anything works. Anyway, of course it takes you fewer words. You're not trying to make them mean anything.

ur batshit insane pooky, this much has been established...

    by jay2517

...it would do u well to quit now. really. even with direct evidence proving me correct, u still insist. stop, ur embarrassing urself now. ur getting as bad as Red with his *Romneys having a fundraiser on a yacht* lie that he refuses to admit too. birds of a feather they say...

  • *A Republican administration can take record surplusses and turn them into record deficits within the first three years of taking office and bring the greatest economy on earth to the brink of destruction in eight. It takes...*--- the Dems had control of Congress and introduced all the bills that caused the crisis. kinda blows ur *its all the repubs fault* lie out of the water, doesnt it? funny how idiots, like u, conveniently forget that. oh yea, im sure 9/11 had nothing to do with the first 3 years of W. *...oh sweetie, that's why you think Obama should have already fixed things. You don't understand how anything works.*--- thanks for admitting obama is an idiot. WHY, exactly, should u be voting for him then LOL?? god, ur stupid. he said he could, not me. it takes me fewer words because truth and facts dont need long thesis' to defend them. simple. now, hurry and gt ur thesaurus out and start them multiple paragraphs! idiot.

  • Just because I've proved that you have warped facts and logic, are scared, and have moved the goalposts so far they're barely visible, doesn't mean I should quit. The only *embarrassing of myself* I'm doing at this point is vehemently kicking you while you're on the ground. But you get no mercy from me, little man.

  • Sept. 10, 2012, 8:42 p.m. CST

    Oh Jay...

    by Red Ned Lynch

...and I was having such a nice, bonding moment with Mr. Longbaugh... You see the thing he did up above? He counter punched. He came in a little too hard because he thought he knew how I was going to react, but you can tell by the way he did it that next time he's going to feint more than once before he closes. He might not get me the next time either, but believe me if we kept at it eventually he would. And he's got heavy hands. You just keep blundering in with your hands at your waist in between every pinwheeling punch and your chin so high in the air it might as well be a pinata. 9-11 didn't force Bush to keep in place the tax cuts. 9-11 did not demand the Iraq war. As the CBO numbers establish, these are the primary causes of the current spiraling deficit (and once again, you can't harp on the 5 trillion projection from the CBO without acknowledging the numbers they added up to arrive at that figure). And you don't even really have a case for the revenue decline, because those numbers were reduced in the second Bush term (we also lost jobs in the second Bush term...well removed from 9-11). And as I recall it was President Bush who came out to tell the American people that the economy would completely collapse unless the stimulus was approved. Did Nancy Pelosi have her hand up his ass, working him like a puppet? I didn't see that. And every time you do this you let me repeat these things. And every time I repeat them there's the chance someone will look them up for him or herself to see if I'm telling the truth. And if they do that's another vote against Willard. Jay, you're the gift that keeps on giving.

    by MrLongbaugh

Are you Pro-Life or Pro-Choice? Hint: We are talking about abortion. What are our views on the suject? Are you a Birther? Hint: That is the name given to people who think Obama wasn't born in the U.S. What do you think? Are you a Tea Party fuck? That one is kind of self-explantary. This is a test to see if you are capable and worth engaging in a civilized, intelligent manner. Good luck and leave your paper on my desk.

  • *9-11 didn't force Bush to keep in place the tax cuts.*--- tax cuts are better for the economy and contributed to the job growth. of course, u will spin this too. whats new? *9-11 did not demand the Iraq war.*--- uh, right. anyway. *And as I recall it was President Bush who came out to tell the American people that the economy would completely collapse unless the stimulus was approved.*--- ??? u mean he passed the obama stimulus? wow, that there Bush sure do's have some majikal powers! *Did Nancy Pelosi have her hand up his ass, working him like a puppet? I didn't see that.*--- thats because shes an idiot and has no spine. apparently she agreed with him? red- spin and deflect....spin and deflect....repeat as needed...

  • that u would keep ur farce up IS reality denying. its a fun read though. BTW- u *proved....*, LOL??? right. please, DO show how u *proved*, u know with exact posts and what not (like I did). like i said, ur a total brick wall...

I too have provided exact quotes and posting history.

    by Uncle Pooky

For example... Scroll up, to this post of mine: Sep 09, 2012 5:53:11 PM CDT All I needed was that one post to illustrate your lack of comprehension, your utter gutlessness, and your reliance on moving the goalposts.

  • Sept. 12, 2012, 11:37 a.m. CST

Jay...did you sneak back in here that...

    by Red Ned Lynch

...late? Okay. If the Bush tax cuts contributed to job growth why did the Bush administration have the lowest rate of job creation of any administration since the Second World War? I already provided not just the numbers but the link to the data up above in the thread, but here's another little snippet. This one from Forbes, because I like to mix up the conservative sources I use to prove you're wrong or lying: 'If the tax cuts delivered by President Bush are the shining beacon of policy to be used when making the case that reducing taxes leads to increased jobs numbers, tax hawks are going to have to go back to the drawing board or hope that the dishonestly of their political pitch can survive the truth come election day because the facts just don’t back up the assertion.' And as for tax cuts being good for the economy: The S&P 500's value had fallen by more than 4.6 TRILLION dollars in between the time the Bush tax cuts were enacted and Bush left office. See Jay, that's not deflecting. That is seeing if the claim you just made can be supported by the facts on the ground. They cannot. During the second Bush term the United States actually saw a net DECREASE in jobs. Not job creation not matching population growth. A net decrease. So you made one claim in your previous post. It does not correspond to the actual facts of what happened. According to you tax cuts spur economic growth and job creation. The Bush tax cuts were followed by the largest contraction of the US economy since the great depression and a net loss of jobs. So anyone other than you and I who reads this will have to decide if they believe Jay or their lying eyes. Oh and plus, the Bush tax cuts are the largest single factor contributing to the deficit. So let's recap: The Bush tax cuts did not create jobs. They did not help grow the economy. They did more than any other single thing to grow the deficit. See, once you factor in the pesky notion of what actually happened, that's the story. Also, Jay, just because you say the moon is made of green cheese it does not become a valuable source of protein.

  • and continue to ignore my facts. its pathetic.

  • Sept. 12, 2012, 6:01 p.m. CST
