AICN UK: Dr Karen Oughton With TOWER BLOCK's James Moran And Sheridan Smith!!
Britgeek here.
Film4 FrightFest 2012 was a busy occasion for screenwriter James Moran. He's a festival regular anyway, but this year he had a film playing in the main line-up. Actually, that's a lie. He had two films screening over the five days, one on the first night – comedy-horror COCKNEYS VS. ZOMBIES (reviewed HERE) – and the other, suspense thriller TOWER BLOCK, drawing the horror and fantasy festival to a close. If you're a fan of DOCTOR WHO or TORCHWOOD, you may be familiar with Moran's work, as he's written for both series. He also penned the script for Chris Smith's SEVERENCE.
With TOWER BLOCK moments from its world premiere and not a sniper in sight, Dr Karen Oughton and I were on the scene for the final media wall of this year's FrightFest and caught up with both Moran and star Sheridan Smith (looking utterly glamorous), who is perhaps best known as Janet in TWO PINTS OF LAGER AND A PACKET OF CRISPS, although she did recently win her second straight Olivier Award for her work in theatre, a rather incredible and highly commendable feat.
Check out the trailer below and the interviews conducted by Doc Karen:
TOWER BLOCK is released in UK cinemas from Lionsgate on September 21.

I had, WAY more shit for Dandelion... Presumably, someone swung over to IMDB and posted up the answer was "Jock" (or is it? OR IS IT?)...

Because I'm really struggling with the pervasive stupidity round here today...

Do a lot of your friends do that thing - "Hey, check this out!" and then hand you a sandwich they've just wiped their cocks on? Man, that must be rough though...

Heresy Maybe but I've always thought of UK films and TV as rubbish
by Rakesh Patel
Thats probably a too wide reaching statement. there's things we do really well like comedy and nature programs. and when there's a US bankroll and machine behind it, i'll normally watch. But a uk has to have a lot of hype around it before i'll even bother. i dunno, maybe if they had more previews and word of mouth buzz, it could generate something. as it is. more then likely no. trailer hasn't swayed me Sheridan Smith though, fine looking woman.

...Sheridan Smith. I'll be in my bunk...
