South Florida!! Want To Check Out DREDD 3D A Few Weeks Early?? The Kidd Will Be The Judge Of That!!

The Kidd here...
I was quite surprised by the amount of positivity coming from the early screening of DREDD 3D held by Lionsgate in San Diego over the Comic-Con weekend. After all, this is the very audience that still holds it against Sylvester Stallone for his take on the character, so, if the flick wasn't very good, I don't doubt that they would have turned on Karl Urban with the quickness, if justified. But those who did see it have had good things to say about it, so, South Florida, now's your chance to find out for yourself.
I've got tickets to an advance screening of DREDD 3D this coming Monday, September 10, at 7:30 p.m., at the Cobb Dolphin 19 in Miami, with Judge Dredd himself, Karl Urban, being in attendance to introduce the film.
Want to go?
Here's what I need from you.
An answer to the following question - Which superhero movie franchise needs to be rebooted in the worst way, and why? - in 100 words or less.
As the entries come pouring in, they'll be judged on their own merit. Once I hit 20 good quality entries, I'm closing up shop on this contest, and winners will be notified by email and posted up on the site.
In the body of the email, send your name and answer to Contests@AintItCool.com with the following subject line exactly (in all CAPS):
DON'T BE JUDGING ME
If you're missing any of the information I'm asking for, then it's as if you don't even have an entry, no matter how good it may have been.
If you're not sure if you're going to be able to make it though, it's quite simple - don't enter. If you don't think you can get out of work early enough, or if you have class, homework, chores, scheduled surgery, an unreliable car, prior engagements or previous commitments that may prevent you from attending this screening, don't try to win only to let these seats go to waste. We've been having far too many no-shows lately, so if you decide you're not going to go in the event you do win tickets, don't worry about playing again in the future. You're going on my Black List forever and ever.
Thanks to Lionsgate for setting this up with us, and good luck to you.

Wish I could see this early. Pretty stoked.
-
at saying fix the damn expand button! And im looking forward to seeing Dredd.
-
The trailers looked promising, kept a pretty dark and serious tone, no comic relief. I'm willing to give it a chance.

You know it to be true!

I meant, when (if) Harry reviews Dredd he prefers the Stallone version.

Well, I don't live in Florida, so I can't compete for this, but as far as superhero reboots go I vote for SPAWN

As a fan of the comics and HBO animated series, I think Spawn still has potential as a film. If Batman can survive the two Schumacher helmed sequels, then Spawn can probably rise from the ashes of the horrible live-action film made in the late 90's.

I actually don't hate Rise of the Silver Surfer, I thought it was pretty enjoyable with some excellent character moments. However, there's no denying that they fucked up the FF pretty bad...I was out on the first film as soon as Reed Richards was described as the "World's Smartest Dumb Guy"...nobody talks to Reed Richards like that. Also, what's the deal with this "fix the expand button" thing, is it a joke because it works just fine? If it is a joke, it's not a very funny one, is it? Also also, stop hating on Atlanta so bad. I wanna do early stuff too!!! I went to that Get The Gringo thing here, and I'll be there for the next one if there ever is one.

I'm a long time Dredd fan, i've read 2000AD from the first issue back in 77. I'm excited about this movie though i'd still prefer it to be set in the mid to late 22nd century- with all the fantastical Mega City 1 vehicles and madness- and not this "more realistic timeline" shit...The Stallone movie got closer to the comic's MC1 vision and that movie certainly has it's moments while being an average, ultimately disappointing watch...But what the heck- this new flick's lookin soooo drokkin' goooood.

I'd like to see the league of fatties, boingg, umpty candy, fink angel, call me kenneth, chopper, the Judge Child. I like the city from the Stallone film, but that's about it. Hopefully, they've got the essence of Dredd right in this one. I started reading 2000ad from issue 1 (Dredd appeared in issue2) I still remember trying to peel those Biotronic stickers off my fore-arms - man that hurt. Would love to see a film of Flesh, and the Harlem Heroes too. Or Robohunter, Strontium Dog, ABC Warriors and loads more.

Yeah i remember the free space spinner from prog 1! I missed out on the stickers but got hold of Prog 2 second hand...That's a lot of Dredd in your first sentence Bro, a lot of movies i'd like to see. They should make a CGI series like The Clone Wars out of DREDD!!!! Then they could fit all those characters in...Any highly influential movers n' shakers, old 2000AD fans out there in the movie & T.V. production world? I fuckin' wish! I would be happy with a Cursed Earth/Judge Child film, a Judge Death one and a Judge Caligula movie! A bit of Block Mania thrown in too. And when they're successful and the floodgates open (dreams) we'd get a decent Slaine flick! And a Robo Hunter! And what about a Nemesis the Warlock (that would be great in CGI)....And Harry Twenty On The High Rock! The Ballad of Halo Jones! I could go on...(a DR & Qinch animation!) I've said before 2000AD is a veritable goldmine of fantastical source material.
