Antepenultimate WEEDS!! Antepenultimate SUNDAY BIG BROTHER!! KARDASHIANS!! BLACK DYNAMITE!! More!!

Published at: Sept. 2, 2012, 2:34 a.m. CST by hercules

Only movies (and nothing new to cable) on HBO tonight, and if you’re thinking “Boardwalk Empire” returns this week or next, you’re thinking wrong. Nucky, Nelson, Chalky, Rothstein, Harrow & Co. don’t launch the third season till Sept. 16.

Are Andy and Nancy going to hook up before the hour-long Sept. 16 series finale of “Weeds”? The abrupt departure of Jennifer Jason Leigh has me thinking yes.  Then again, the fabulous and criminally underutilized Aubrey Dollar (“Point Pleasant,” “Women’s Murder Club”) joined the cast last week as Bride of Botwin. After tonight’s installment, “Threshold,” only two episodes left.

Showtime says:

Silas contemplates a big professional move; Nancy has a dinner date with Rabbi Dave and some of his friends; and Andy experiences a slight hitch in his relationship status.

98-pound Britney Haynes, voted fan favorite at the end of “Big Brother 12,” on Thursday got booted from “Big Brother 14.” (I chortled aloud at her talk about Dan’s “mind-misting powers” in the clip above.) What happens in tonight and Wednesday’s episodes is cloaked in invisotext. Ian won HoH, then nominated Frank and JennCity for eviction. Then Dan won the veto competition. Dan just swore on the bible that he had final-two deal with Frank – but Jenn is the one who actually pulled Dan’s ass out of the fire last week. The veto ceremony hasn’t yet transpired, so I’m guessing Dan will free Frank so Frank can destroy Ian in vengeance.

Seven contestants remain in the house. There are only two more Sundays between tonight and the 90-minute Sept. 19 “Big Brother” finale (which comes immediately after the 90-minute “Survivor” premiere).

Ratings-wise:

* “Big Brother” keeps getting bigger. The Sunday edition hit its season high last week.

* Last week’s “True Blood” finale did not quite match its 2.9 season premiere.

* In more ways than one, “The Newsroom” ended right where it started, with the girl who asked the Why is America so Awesome question and with a 1.0.

* “Breaking Bad’s” penultimate 2012 episode brought the series its best number since its season premiere.

* Did something happen on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”? Last week’s episode hit the series’ best number this year.

    God Sundays suck ass now...

    by IamHERE

All i have is Hell on Wheels now..... At least until Walking Dead comes back in October.

  • If you watch the episode again you'll see that he never actually swore on the bible that he'd keep Frank. It was a very smooth move on his part! He's probably going to take Jenn off the block and then Ian will put up Joe. Frank's definitely going home on Thursday. The guy put up a helluva fight, but his luck finally ran out. It should be a lot easier for Dan to get rid of Ian than it was for the house to get Frank out.

    Not a word about Copper

    by Marc Cerasini

In Episode Two our hero gets his leg broken by Pinkertons, gets hooked on opium and brandy, and holds a pedophile murder down while a ten year old girl rams a dagger into the killer's guts--repeatedly. Follow that with our hero running the same dagger through a Madam's black heart inside her own whorehouse. This ain't Law and Order...

    So is TNT not "cable"

    by Gislef_crow

Or does a new episode of Leverage just not count?

  • I don't check in on twitter much, but I've definitely had this experience. Darren Aronofsky was someone I used to consider a genius. Then I followed him on twitter and found him to be a simpleton, a hipster, and a bit of a dick. <p> Dan Harmon of Community however, I loved already for his creative genius but worried that he'd be a prick on twitter, but he's actually a very sweet guy and even responded to one of my tweets ages ago. I said I have this fantasy where I write something very witty to him on twitter and then we become best friends. He responded the reality isn't as great because he generally keeps to himself and distances himself from people. It was cool of him to respond given his propensity to avoid people.

Is anybody watching Black Dynamite because it great

    by ChiTownsBest

That Mr. T episode was hilarious. I hope this show gets picked up for another season

  • The longevity of the Kardashians is also proof that a good portion of the country are retarded. The day I watch that show will only be an episode when one of those fuck-tards finds OJ's bloody knife with his prints and Nicole's blood on it.

TV's most Dynamic Duos on ABC tonight

    by Paul

I agreed with a lot of the chioces and it was awesome that Jack and Locke from Lost was #16, but I was disapointed that Walter & Peter (Fringe) didn't make the list.

  • Sept. 3, 2012, 4:20 a.m. CST

    It'll be a beautiful thing.....

    by Loosejerk

if Dan takes Danielle to the end. Coach and student just as the game began. It all depends on whether Shane can rise back up in competitions with Frank (and amazingly Ian) out of the way.

  • Sept. 3, 2012, 8:28 a.m. CST

    chitownsbest, I watch Black Dynamite

    by Bullet_time_Facehugger

Because its goddamn brilliant. Nothing has really matched the insane genius that was the jackson five episode, but every episode has made me laugh out loud at least once.

  • Perfect combo of The Boondocks and The Venture Brothers. Which of course brought up the question who would win in a fight between BD and Brock Sampson? IMO it would be a draw.

I was surprised that Ian straight up nominated Frank

    by jim

instead of trying to back-door him. After all, it was Ian who, during his previous stint as HOH, wanted to do just that, and was all "I told you so" when, after being overruled by his alliance, Frank won the veto. They could have taken the chance that, by not nominating Frank, he may not have played for the Veto. As long as Frank doesn't win it, just about everyone else would most likely use it and then the replacement could be Frank. But I guess by putting up both Jenn & Frank, they have a shot at getting out Frank, but if he wins, they can still get rid of Jenn (something that they couldn't do if Frank was not nominated but won Veto and used it to save her). Actually, now that I think about it, it's a pretty good plan. If they can't get rid of Frank this week, they dispose of Jenn. Frank still can't compete as HOH this week so whoever wins it next week puts him up again and, once again, they hope he doesn't win Veto.
