See Michael Shannon Take Out The Trash In This Trailer For THE ICEMAN!

Nordling here.

I'll see Michael Shannon in just about everything.  I still think he was robbed of a Best Actor nomination for TAKE SHELTER.  Although I haven't seen it, I'm told he's the best thing in PREMIUM RUSH.  And he's about to hit movie theaters in a big way next year as Zod in MAN OF STEEL.  Before then, though, we're getting a treat - Shannon as the cold-blooded hitman he was born to play.  I guess he's getting this role out of his system early because it's always felt like destiny that Shannon would play a mob hitman.

THE ICEMAN, directed by Ariel Vroman, is based on the true story of Richard Kuklinski, a mob enforcer with over 100 hits to his name (or so he said) during his active years between 1948 and 1986.  And yet, he was also a family man who loved his wife and kids very much.  This character dichotomy is probably what drew Shannon to the character.  But this movie is fairly packed with terrific actors like Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, Winona Ryder, David Schwimmer, and James Franco, who judging by the trailer might not make it to the end of the movie.  Here's the trailer:

THE ICEMAN plays the Toronto International Film Festival, but does not have a US release date as of yet.
