Here Comes S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Nordling here.
We've been wondering for weeks what project that Disney had in mind for a Marvel television show that tied into the Cinematic Universe, and tonight Deadline breaks what we can expect - ABC greenlit SHIELD for a pilot, and Joss Whedon will be involved with many aspects of production including writing (along with brother Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen) and possibly directing the pilot.
Considering the way THE AVENGERS did at the box office, it's no surprise that SHIELD would be the series that ABC would go for - I'd be very interested if returning cast members like Samuel Jackson or Cobie Smulders would return to their roles. Smulders currently works on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, so it's not clear if she would jump ship for this. Or we may get a whole new bunch of characters. It's also very possible that Marvel may use the series to introduce more Marvel superheros into the movie pantheon.
So what do you hope for in a SHIELD television series? Hope to see people like Dr. Henry Pym, or The Vision, or villains like Ultron or MODOK? (Please give us MODOK.) We'll see.

Idea.
-
If they do how Shield was put together or history, etc. Easy way to bring him back without him being a zombie!
-
They could easily use him in flashback stories and story threads. No need for Zombie Colson then.
-
Hope they can capture the level of drama and excitement that was the SHIELD opening of the Avengers! Looking forward to it!
-
They absolutely should have tim blake nelson in this.
-
...the comic book TV series I'd really like to see? Gotham Central. Loved this short-lived series. Basically "Homicide: Life on the Street" but in the Bat-verse. I'll give SHIELD a sample.
-
Its like im having a great night out with people buying me awesome drinks. I know I should stop, I know it'll only make me puke in the morning, but I can't stop. Not until I collapse into my own smeggy sheets with a fresh black eye courtesy of some cunt teenagers out on the prowl, oily kebab death running down my chin and my pants filled to bursting with the quick fire shits. That, my friends, is the future of the comic book movie.
-
Is Sam ready for primetime? I think he would kill on the small screen.
-
Where's Michael Chiklis when you need him?
-
This wouldn't really work in this day and age, but what I loved in the 70's SHIELD series was that various agents would come in off the street and into a barber shop, sit in the chair, the windows would temporarily get fogged up, then the chair with the agent would sink down into the floor (like an elevator) and end up inside the super secret spy headquarters. I don't know if GET SMART came first with a similar gimmick, but it's the kind of whimsy sadly missing in modern comics...
-
How crazy would it be watching Leonardo da Vinci, Nostradamus, Isaac Newton, Michelangelo, and Galileo having adventures each week.
-
Ack, I loved his stuff on Angel. So happy Joss is getting the band back together. This is only the start...

If they fuck this up like a typical Joss Whedon cheesefest TV show it will turn people off of the movies.
by JackSlater4
-
I was hoping for that instead. While Joss Whedon's involvement is a great thing, I'd be wary of this. Television is different and while it obviously has some advantages over the movies, it also has some negatives. Marvel and Disney will either break major ground here or it will fail. I hope they succeed!
-
make it so!!!
-
She's on a hit show and why would she leave that for something untested? The whole suggestion is absurd..same with Samuel L Jackons. They both may do a quick cameo or two but probably not much beyond that. And would rather Whedon work on the Avengers 2 script instead of being distracted with this.
-
as long as it was edgy but funny. none of this kiddie shit. It might work. now see george lucas this is how you cultivate movie properties into tv shows. fuck a billion dollar budget. whedon has done miracles with less!!!!
-
Comics books have been around for about 100 years now so there doesn't need to be a "comic book movie" fatigue anytime soon. As long as they are done well, they will still be compelling and entertaining. And of course most haven't been done well and most of the new ones won't be either but just saying it doesn't have to be that way.

imagine A.I.M., hydra, modok, the leader all the other threats that the avengers and xmen dont tackle. Oh and remember shield is an INTERNATIONAL, force so theyre gonna be world wide. You guys remember how alias was great in the beggining. imagine a spy show set within the marvel universe. imagine all the high tech gadgets and fighting scenes. You dont need superheroes popping up. You can have a stellar cast of Shield agents from the comics, such as dum dum dugan, quartermain and maria hill. ETC...

Since the almost surely final season of HIMYM is currently in production, by the time this thing is ready to be filmed, she'd be done. She might actually be ready to jump at the opportunity to star in a network drama with a built-in fanbase.

I have ZERO interest in a TV show where Whedon is involved
by Nico Toscani
I seriously despise his "clever" dialogue and obligatory ass-kicking female character.
-
His X-Files contributions were just shy of unwatchable.
-
This is an easy idea. 1) Jackson and the Avengers can have cameos. 2) expands the universe. Spider-woman. Mockingbird. Dum Dum. 3) The hoff could show up as one of Fury's LMD's. A reverse of what they did in Avenger's not too long ago. 4)Prep for the movies. 5) Screw over Fox for cancelling all of Whedon's series in the past. Do this right please!
-
It could be good............
-
give whedon a chance, have you seen the astonishing xmen mini series? that was epic...
-
I'm all for stuff like this, but realistically, with such dismal hope for longevity due to the current state of network television and the rail-thin budgets this is sure to get, the final version will be less an extension of the Marvel films and more a watered-down disappointment. None of the peripheral film actors will be regulars on this...and there's not a chance in hell RDJ et al would stoop to ABC television at this point....ESPECIALLY since their Marvel contracts are already signed and done. They're under no obligation to show up in episodes. Why appear in a product that will be a poor-man's version of the films? I honestly feel that if (when) this fails and gets cancelled, it will only tarnish the "brand" of the existing Marvel films.
-
..seeing as how she's an agent (sometimes double/triple agent) for SHIELD.
-
SHIELD trying to capture The Purple Man, who is played by William Fichtner. Make it happen.
-
They can't get the major actors to fill their respective roles, so I'm guessing this will be a prequel, showing the origins of SHIELD.
-
Mark-Paul Gosselaar as The Hood.

I've got the comic book of his first appearence and I'd like it to go up in value thank you very much/.

What a coincidence they got Whedon's brother.
-
with his integral writing in marvel comics, and directing the avengers. who better than to write a show for shield. then someone who writes comics for marvel comics on occasion. I also would love to see JMS lend his writer's pen to episodes as well. But keep quesada away from this shit, because anytime it'll gain traction he'll cancel it for a light hearted ultimate spiderman show. fucking asshole. This show i think will be off the charts. ive been waiting for something like this if done right.

by Saltboy
Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes RIP Who gives a crap about the medium (live action vs. cartoon) as long as the show has good stories to tell and characters worth caring about? A:EMH had plenty of both and to think that it's now cancelled is pretty frustrating.
-
I'm just hoping he doesnt get fatigued and burned out he has so many projects on his plate.
-
Currently has more comic cred than Joss right now; so, no, it's not nepotism.

That will be cool to create new characters that have a chance to show up in the movies instead of vice versa.

You might have been Nordling, to most of us it was blatantly obvious. It's the lowest risk/lowest cost property they can produce. Expect something akin to the Unit meets Heroes, with 2-3 cameos every season (which Whedon will easily secure) to keep the ratings up. You can expect Coulson to show up (or his LDM), and Hill as regular guest stars. And like I said weeks ago when this was first announced, expect the same shot of the Hellicarrier used over, and over again, just like they re-used the same shot of the Enterprise in orbit for seven seasons of TNG. Pay for the CGI once and it's job done. Actually, if Whedon's smart, he'll just use what he shot for the Avengers and do a deal between ABC and Marvel for it's use. There will still be enough Avengers 'fervor' to make this a huge debut, and it will have a huge follwing between comic geeks and Whedonites for at least two seasons, which is enough time for the next few films to come out. One or two tie ins and they could have a winner for quite a while, even if it's as bad as the Unit or Heroes.

Organization and latter will be after Loki's daughter Hella She has a Stark Jet pack to which she added glide wings that look like chrome feathers (to save fuel in glide mode) A purple cape sewn from hulks old pants One of Captain America's Prototype bullet proof vest And a Valkyrie type helmet Black Widows old stun gun mounted in a giant wrench To play off her Uncles uber patriotism she calls herself "Victory" after the Statue of "Winged Victory" in Washington DC and that is also on war medals that looked like the statue of liberty with wings and a sword. Other's call her Liberty Lass She thinks Captain is sweet, Thor has dreamy hair, Iron man is brilliant and Black widow s cool, she tries not to think of hulk after walking in the wrong door in the gym. In the pilot she manages to rescue some kittens Her lunch buddy will be the lazy scanner operator every one now calls Galaga Kid (in Sam Jackson's Cameo in the Pilot Nick Fury makes like he is shooting the kid with his finger and makes Galaga sounds and laughs)

The Perfect Storm. The Zenith. They're going to make an honest-to-god TV-show comic book. Why would anyone think this would be cheap? How much money did Avengers make again? You don't think ABC and Disney are going to be throwing money onto this project? That's no problem. And watered-down versions of characters or crappy interpretations of them...have you ever SEEN a Joss Whedon production before? The man knows what he's doing, has a respect for the source material (Avengers, duh), and has an immense amount of creative integrity to actually stand up for what he wants to create, the way he wants to create it, and infuses everything he does with character and gravitas. And this set-up...it's just the dream, man. It's the Marvel Universe carte blanche (legal matters notwithstanding). They could (and hopefully will) go anywhere. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

This is the guy who went from Star Wars to Snakes on a Plane, and you think this guy is "Above television". He'll still be playing a character in a billion dollar industry. He did a video game voice for God sake.

win a fucking EMMY for guesting on a television show? Wait, what was that show.... Oh yes... Ally McBeal! So, it seems television is not beneath Tony Stark. by Inexplicable_Nuclear_Balls
Perfect opportunity to introduce him for a spin-off.
-
Iron Man is CG. He could easily appear to help blast some villains now and again. RDJ could literally phone in some lines, he does it for video games. Maybe the helmet could snap open and he'd say hi occasionally. Likewise Hulk; he's CG. Although maybe in his own TV series concurrent with this, I don't know where that series is right now. But with a recast TV version of Banner too, he could easily do guest appearances. I guess Jackson will do a guest spot in the pilot, then pop up on view screens throughout the series to issue orders. He could shoot a season's worth of stuff in one day. Black Widow and Hawkeye might be up for a guest appearance. With so much development already done (like sets / costumes / CG models) maybe that will leave some cash left over to get these big screen heroes to slum it for a week or two? This will be on TV late 2013 I guess, so season 2 will lead right into Avengers 2. I've never seen a Joss Whedon TV show but I know he has had some success in that area; maybe SHIELD will turn out to be really good?

It would be nice to see him on the big screen. I hope he's not damaged goods now after being raped by Fox. I imagine there is a support group somewhere where studio rape victims can come together. It would include Galactus, Venom, Deadpool, The Phoenix, Green Goblin, Gambit & Rogue...just to list a few.

by Stalkeye
On the contrary, Sam was called an Uncle Tom by Spike Lee in his defense of Quentin Tarantino's use of the N Word in his films. He mentioned that instead of bitching, Spike should focus on making better Movies. I guess this Maximus troll is using Jackson's support for Obama as a means for calling him "Racist". Jeebsus
-
They could easily be on the show without having to pay RDJ or Ruffalo...just have them in the background or in a news report fighting or doing something and would spice up an episode. Although CGI for either one has to be very expensive (obviously moreso for the Hulk) so would probably be fleeting glimpses and not a full fledged cameo. I just don't look forward to a Marvel show with a TV sized budget..going to look cheap compared to the movies with the much higher production values, better cinematography, etc, etc. Something like Game of Thrones is very high quality but doubt the budget will be that high for this.
-

As insanely successful as THE AVENGERS has been, how can anybody seriously argue that there won't be an audience for this?
by Mosquito March
As long as the writing is on par with the movie, this is as sure a bet as ABC can make on a new series. And I guarantee you will see big names from the movies turn up to keep their respective brands going between films. If scheduling permits, why wouldn't they take the extra money to cameo as characters that they're already playing in their insanely successful movies? Cross-pollenation already exists in this live action universe - it was literally built on it. Moving from an official movie to an official series on occasion makes sense to keep the whole machine moving. This is exciting news.
-
No problem, really. The classic SHIELD series had VERY little to do with superheroes. It was a Bond knock-off in the Marvel universe. Model it on ALIAS or UNCLE. Have Sam Jackson hand out assignments via video (he could film an entire season of such in a single day) and a Coleson Life Model Decoy as a fun character interpreting the instructions and dealing with "Data"-like emotional problems. Concentrate on humans with high capacity and fun tech. Hydra as SPECTRE. Bring it. And as for "Racist"--some white people love to throw that word around, and rarely deal with the actual definition, which is someone who believes human ability or worth is distributed along ethnic lines. Point out anything Sam has said that implies whites are less intelligent or worthwhile than blacks, or shut the fuck up.
-
Maybe Shield will be the competitor for that Star Wars live action show. I haven't heard much about that project lately. Right now there isn't anything sci-fi worth watching so for me this will be a great excuse to keep paying for cable.
-
Balls.
-
Is like calling an Native American suspicious.
-
Is, by programming, not as racist as they should be. Most are Christian, which means that the average black American spent his childhood kneeling to the image of a white man. How many Klansmen would ever have lynched blacks if they'd worshipped the image of a black man? Beautiful brainwashing technique. Seriously.
-
This won't be good
-
Item 47 should give you an idea of what they will be shooting for. I personally thought Item 47 sucked but that's jmho
-
This series might have an air of the early Torchwood; the different story each week approach, not the long drawn out mini(?!)-series that it ended up as. Different alien/super-villain/advanced tech featured each week, with a core team of agents dealing with them. Instead of a Range Rover, they'll have quinjets; the babes will be hotter; the FX way more extravagant; the accents less Welsh. :-) Members of the Avengers aren't actually NECESSARY of course but some cameos of Iron Man or Hulk would be a BIG help, if only because they would look good in the trailers! Total absence of Black Widow and Hawkeye would be a bit odd since they are SHIELD agents. Of course that could be used in the story, BW and H go AWOL and the cheaper, sorry I mean regular, agents track them down through the season. As in 1,000,001 fantasies, Scarlett J appears for the climax.

I would think that Smulders and Jackson could at least do some cameos. I would love to see Ben Browder get cast in a major role he was awesome in Farscape and pretty good in Stargate jumping in at the end of that shows run. He has the TV ScFi cred..

@lukens -- Ben Browder? Yes. Give him a role. Also: Nathan Fillion?
by lv_426
He's already on Castle which is an ABC show. Whedon and Fillion back in action on the same show again would be fun to see. Also, Adam Baldwin who played Jayne on Firefly would be fun to see join the cast. I'll leave it up to you Marvel fans who know more about Avengers and SHIELD to figure out who they could play in the show.

I was hoping there would be a Nick Fury movie... I've got the perfect idea for one:
by ChickenStu
Basically, Nick Fury gets framed and S.H.I.E.L.D are after him. He goes on the run to try to prove his innocence, and there could be cameos from Robert Downey Jr as Stark, Chris Evans as Cap and Mark Ruffallo as Bruce Banner - as at various points in the film he goes to them for help. Then at the end Black Widow and Hawkeye work out that he's innocent and help him - and during the course of the story there is flashbacks to his origins. That would rock.
-
Aug. 29, 2012, 8:27 a.m. CST
Lukens, let me start off by stating I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Farscape fan...
by Rufus_T_Firefly
but Browder would have to do some serious time at his local Planet Fitness before he's ready for action again.

I bet Whedon is like "WHY did I kill him? DAMMIT!" It's Marvel though, so killing a character in one issue and bringing him or her (or it) back to life 3 issues later is no big leap.

We may get the likes of: Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres, Summer Glau, Amy Acker, Eliza Dushku, Fran Kranz, Adam Baldwin, Felicia Day, James Marsters (all if which I'm A-OK with). and in a perfect world, Nathan Fillion, Neil Patrick Harris, and Anthony Stewart Head.
-
At least it will be much closer to the comic books than Smallville ever was. That alone gets me giggling like Harry.
-
In my mind, Scarlett Johanssen ALWAYS appears for the climax! Ba-Dum-Dum...
-
The Avengers was awesome. Joss Whedon is awesome.
-
A.I.M would be the ideal villain for an ongoing S.H.I.E.L.D. series, so I really hope they go that direction... they could play them like whatever that company was called in Fringe. Also, D.C. sucks
-
He fits the SHIELD/Agent type, and his delivery of lines and sense of humor is perfectly in-line with Whedon. He would be a perfect fit.

Damn It, I was hoping for a SHIELD movie centering on Widow and Hawkeye

The show could be cool, but obviously sans the two popular SHIELD agents. Rats.

oh and I bet SHIELD hits our televisions before Lucas' supposed live action Star Wars show does.

Gonna make Avengers look like Battleship!

Like Nick Fury I mean...?

@rufus_t_firefly -- ahh Farscape... I really miss those days
by lv_426
Back when SyFy was Sci-Fi and had stuff like Farscape and BSG. This SHIELD TV spin-off idea makes me think that there could be another Farscape series. Except a spin-off type thing with all new characters and a new situation. The Farscape universe is so rich and full of potential. The other factor is there are no space shows or space operas on TV anymore. Not even SyFy really has any actual science fiction type of fare much anymore (they're stuck on vampires and faeries and all that dark contemporary fantasy stuff). Besides the upcoming Continuum being imported to SyFy from Canada, they could really diversify their slate of fantasy and reality TV shows by doing another Farscape.

Ha! I knew this TV show was going to be about S.H.I.E.L.D. It was the only logical option. Glad to see Joss Whedon is involved.

Just an obvious cash in on the success of Avengers - Half the show will agents talking about the superheroes and their activities but we never them

They should give Tom Jane the go ahead to make a cable series based on the style and tone of that no-holds-barred Punisher short Dirty Laundry. HBO, Showtime, or Starz would be ideal. Actually, maybe Cinemax would be a good channel for it. They have that Strike Back show, which would be a good companion for The Punisher. Although with Starz, I could see Tom Jane's violent take on The Punisher sitting nicely next to Spartacus, and pulling in fans of that series once Spartacus is done.

Bring me Bobbi Morse (Agent 19/Mockingbird) and Jessica Drew w/HYDRA
by Prem1x
And if they can find a hot Russian to be Black Widow that won't hurt my feelings either.
-
Jesus, guys. "Tarnish the brand"? Seriously? Give it a fucking chance before just internet-asshole bashing it. Anyway, sounds like it could be cool. Doubt Sam Jackson will be around except for the occasional cameo but Smulders should definitely jump in. TV dramas have definitely become more respectable over the last few years. Like others above, I would love to see Jessica Drew, Hydra, some of the less-popular heroes... this could be great if they really get behind it.
-
So there.
-
Stupid question. When was the last time Jackson turned down an acting gig?
-
You guys are deluding yourselves if you think Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johannsen or Jeremy Renner are going to show up for a tv series. TV shows have smaller budgets than movies and there is no way they can afford these guys. Expect to see C level or D level marvel supers at best. I don't even think you will see Luke Cage, Vision, Ant Man, Wasp or Black Panther because they will likely keep them for the big screen. They will have to base this version of Shield out of the west coast so people aren't constantly asking where the Avengers are. Likely a Shield office out of Los Angeles. Maybe Wonder Man, Moon Knight or Star Fox. I can see a show where is regular Shield agent is paired with a super.
-
You all let me know how it is. If it's still good by season 5, I'll rent the DVDs.
-
that shit he pulled on kickstarters is proof he doesnt get people who read comics, video games or movies
-
The constraints of the budget on a live action TV series just presents too many pre-determined landmines for the show to realistically pull off what fans would want it to be about. Let's be realists here - nobody wants to watch a bunch of nameless SHIELD agents in suits sitting around with nametags on in the employee lounge and shooting the breeze whilest the occasional low-tier unheard-of hero comes in to join them. People aren't generally looking for no-names - if the show's going to have any realistic draw, it's going to have to have some heavy weights coming in at least once in a while. You can't start with the Mona Lisa and then give people finger painting with your own poop. To that end, I think by virtue of being able to call on any of the major Avengers heroes at any time in the animated forum, that would be the way to go. Otherwise, it's basically Smallville with Marvel characters. I watched the series, I admit, but it could have been soooo much better with better actors and less freak-of-the-week and kryptonite everything bullshit.

I don't get the Wheedon hate - Buffy and Angel were high-water marks for TV.

In the series finale please dont have all the characters show up in a church only to realize that they are all dead to destroy any kind of continuity/secrets that coudlnt be revealed due to creativity bogusness.
-
Whedon made crossover cool.
-
All and all, it was more super-hero than horror.

dawhiteguy sounds so kewl with his hipster d-bag reference to Lost
by parissun
Get over it already. Lost was a great show and the ending was fine. If left up to most of the complaining nerds on this site, we would be watching remakes of Cagney and Lacy, Hart to Hart and Alice. Instead we are getting the best run of geek television and movies ever.
-
Disney owns, ABC and Marvel... Avengers already made 1 billion dollars at the box office. for 1 movie. You think that they're not gonna pony up that money to make this show a hit. Like i said before we've seen the magic whedon can do on a shoestring budget. can you imagine what this show is gonna be like. The only thing im worried about it the writing. The story arc, enemies and seeing it live action. Lower tiered heroes of the marvel universe is nothing to sneeze at either they can be just as tough and deadly. Luke cage and iron fist combined is no fucking joke! lol
-
I loved the movie but it got way too bro heavy. http://atomicsam.com/2012/08/29/five-female-superheroes-who-can-helm-a-movie/

This is actually very exciting news.
It is high time for there to return to the airwaves a preeminent geektastic science fiction superhero adventure series the likes of which have never been seen, one set entirely in the Marvel Film Universe! And Whedon is the number one perfect person to run this, promising that the show will be alternately exciting, satirical, screwball tongue-in-cheek and very moving. Some other great shows that kept a great balance between these tones: Farscape and Firefly, for sure.
Yeah! Get Ben Browder And Nathon Fillion! AND Claudia Black And Summer Glau!
Some of your other ideas I’m loving:
Regular “special event” guest cameos from Thor, IM, Hulk and Cappy
Long and/or recurring Whedon-directed story arc involving ultimate Whedonverse archetype: Black Widow (THIS will be your Citizen Kane ScarJo).
Sam Jackson in every Mother*ing Episode! (think of the residuals, man!)
Coulson as Life Model Decoy (and flashbacks), who becomes The Vision .
Pym arcs Ant/Giant-Man fu, Ultron, Scarlet Witch.
Introduction of Black Panther, Shang-Chi, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Dr. Strange!
Ret-conned Secret Invasion arc with Visits from the Guardians of the Galaxy?
The return of Red Skull and Hydra?
Modok v. Hulk war
Dum Dum Dugan, Red Ronin and… The Godzilla Squad!?
Superhuman Registration Act, Thunderbolts Initiative, ARMOR, SWORD, HAMMER, Dark Avengers?????
Brotherhood of the Shield?!?!
There’s definitely enough material for a long-running multi-arced movie-verse tie-in ensemble series here. I think this will be a huge, huge hit.

He was the perfect agent. would be awesome if he was used as the template for The Vision character. (and a way for Clark Gregg to come back, without resurrecting his character).

I agree that he would be perfect for a Whedon show. And I can't believe he turns 50 this year.
-
they may not fit on the movie team, but they could work here. I'm just wondering how they'll address the movie continuity. Will they refer to characters? Will it be a prequel? Some Whedonverse actors in need of work: Alexis Denisof Eliza Dushku (wouldn't be a bad Jessica Drew) Amber Benson Adam Baldwin (he was born for a SHIELD show) Alan Tudyk (that awful sitcom he was on was cancelled, right?) Summer Glau um, Sarah Michelle Gellar (actually, I'm thinking Moonstone - definitely make her a villain) Nick Brendan - (Xander already had the Nick Fury thing going on, with direct references in the comic) Emma Caulfield Sean Maher Oh, and totally get Enver Gjokaj even though he had a cameo in the Avengers Dichen Lachman Tamoh Penikett Olivia Williams Jewel Staite
-
Major Carol Danvers! (Katee Sackhoff please) Long term story arc: A Romani woman is taken under S.H.I.E.L.D. custody because of certain probability altering manifestations which are catalysts to Eastern European secret ops crises. She is the daughter of a well known "terrorist" (throw away line) and her brother is determined to free her. Easily a story thread that can last the entire first season. Maybe a couple of cameo appearances but the show should stand alone. Another story: an uncooperative manhattan based private duo of supers that always complicate shield investigations. The possibilities are endless. There definitely needs to be a satellite (quinjets can active earth orbit) I like the above idea of X-files like evidence of a Kree-Skrull conflict.... Good writing trumps a big budget... some suits and some folks in shield uniforms... did they tear down the helicarrier bridge sets? I could write for hours on this...
-
It will only succeed if they can get regular cameos from the A list avengers ( I mean that in the character and actor sense ) You can't just have Sam "Frozone" Jackson
-

Luke Cage. Nick Fury. Hawkeye. DareDevil. Black Widow.
by Balkin Flabgurter
Maybe Punisher but it IS ABC.
-
I respectfully disagree. The A list needs only to be referenced. A big name cameo might detract from the leads. The second Mr. Cage is introduced there will be a fan outcry for him to be in the new movie. Casting is key.
-
anxious for casting to begin
-
i feel sorry for thee
-
I only care if the primary villain is MODOK! :) All jokes aside, how on earth are they going to sustain a whole series from this idea. Seems to me they will run out of ideas in no time unless the show is made up predominantly of filler...

Because it had the perfect realistic take on super-heroes. The whole thing was so realistic that when you saw a super-hero they were extraordinary and strange.

Yeah I was kinda hoping for an Alias show, but they could still do an episode dedicated to Jessica Jones and even have her as a recurring character.
