Michael Giacchino is Coming to Austin for a Rare Screening of THE INCREDIBLES!!

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here sounding the coolness alarm for all film music fans within a 1,760 mile radius of Austin, Texas! In case you haven't heard, Academy Award winning film composer Michael Giacchino will be in town screening a rare 35mm print (on loan direct from Pixar) of his first feature film, THE INCREDIBLES (2004).

Several months ago, I had an idea to start up a film composer event series at the Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin. The idea was to bring in a composer, screen one of their films, and give them the spotlight to field questions, sign autographs, and generally mingle with fans. I knew right away I wanted the first event to be Michael Giacchino and THE INCREDIBLES. It took some leg work but thanks to Tim League and the fine folks at the Alamo Drafthouse, my pie-in-the-sky idea is now a reality.

The screening will take place Thursday, August 30th at 7:00PM at the South Lamar Alamo Drafthouse. Tickets went on sale last week and are selling rather quickly so don't delay if you're interested. Michael will be in attendance for a Q&A hosted by yours truly. If you're a fan of Giacchino's work, Pixar films, superhero families, Brad Bird, or pretty much anything else that is generally cool, you don't want to miss this rare event!

If this goes well, I hope to continue the series by bringing in other composers three to four times a year for more awesome movie screenings and fan mingling.

Hope to see you there!
