The Gloves Come Off In The BUTTER Trailer!!
The Kidd here...
When you think epic competitions worth watching, butter carving probably doesn't even make the list, but BUTTER is about to change that. The new film from the Weinstein Company pits Jennifer Garner and Yara Shahidi against one another for the title of master Butter Carver at the Iowa State Fair with Olivia Wilde and Ty Burrell taking side.
This one's been floating around since last year when it premiered at Telluride, and is finally set to get a release on October 5. Featuring a supporting cast of Ashley Greene, Alicia Silverstone, Rob Corddry and Hugh Jackman, Jim Field Smith's comedy does look like it could be very interesting... as the subject matter lends itself to that naturally.

This BUTTER movie gave me AIDS. *I don't know what a pun is.
-
are now being "spread" too thinly>?
-
to churn more like this one out... What? That's all I got.
-
.....by Christopher Guest and his usual suspects.
-
...though that feeling of spreading the entire movie over the entire trailer doesn't fill me up either. Perhaps a smaller serving would have been better.

Saw it at Austin Film Festival last year :Kinda spoilery:

Yeah, it's been on the shelf that long. But that might have more to do with the producers wanting to holding it back until election season. Flick's alright. Nothing to rag on, yet not a must-see. Has more ambition than most comedies, but in these dark days of assembly-line laughers that are filled with the same actors playing the same characters over and over again, that's not really saying a whole hell of a lot. Wilde, believe it or not, is by far the best part of the film. Absolutely kills it as a bisexual whitetrash stripper whose mode of transportation is a BMX bike. Oh, and some of the butter sculptures are pretty funny, like one of the JFK assassination. First time posting here. Longtime time lurker. I promise never to say 'first.'
-
I'm a brit so I have no idea when I'm going to see this. But see it I will. Probably on DVD (unless a nude butter wrestling scene bumps it to blu).
-
The badass boxer.
-
You sold me at "bisexual whitetrash stripper whose mode of transportation is a BMX bike."
-
butter is also one of the other things that also comes to mind. delicious, melted butter...

As much as I love seeing two TB'ers trash talking each other it always warms my heart when everyone comes together on a joke.

Having said that this movie needs more Cox and Tatum.

I blame animal memes for making people think it's okay to use the Impact font in a trailer.

And I'm very, very angry about it.

Well, I would.

Perfect casting as she has a lot of experience being carved up with knives.
