So very McFarlane Hulk VS. Wolverine.
-
big knife... #foreshadowing?
-
they're gonna get some pretty angry fans...
-
followed in order by Michonne, Governor and Rick
-
should have have the chick brandishing her samurai sword. instant win!
-
Ends up killing Merle. I'm calling it now. Not a spoiler, Just saying that the writings been rather predictable to this point (albeit enjoyable) and Merles not really a kind of villain who can be long running unfortunately... Wonder, since its an 'alternate universe walking dead', if The Governor will extend beyond his comic run?
-
Quickly has become the most over-fucking-used word on the internet...
-
Falling Skies was way more entertaining! Never thought that was possible after the dismal season 1 of FS! TWD needs to ditch skinny, cheating bitch and all the talking BS!
-
Does Lori eventually die in the print version? If not, I hope the show make another deviation from the source material, like one of the new characters they just cast for this season. It would a better show if they trimmed the fat, and other second-rate characters with all the new ones coming up.

The Governor kinda looks like Norm Macdonald and Steven Seagal had a kid.
by cobrakinte
-
go on son get in there!
-
and man, Rick can't stop putting a gun to his temple. Only does it 30 times an episode.
-
Yes, Lori is killed. One of the most brutal images from the entire series, which will be ruined by this inept show. If they follow the comic then it should happen at the end of this upcoming season.
-
Cause after the Governor's storyline, things get really boring until issue 100.
-
For people who haven't read the books. I'm reluctantly impressed.
-
As Archileach said, Lori does die and it's by a shotgun gun blast to the stomach. Another character dies in the same instant that Lori dies, too. I don't know how they'll play out that second death or if they'll even go near it because it is pretty damn brutal. The comic book has gotten pretty boring. I don't think I'm going to read it anymore. I'm all about Sweet Tooth. That's a damn good book.
-
Love the book. It sucks that it's getting wrapped up though. I'd love to see a Sweet Tooth movie, but it might be way too weird for people.
-
The Governor doesn't have an eyepatch when we first meet him in the comics.
-
Some VERY dark shit happens to her though. And to Rick. I wonder how much of it will make it to TV?
-
The only beginning characters still alive in the comic are Rick, Carl, Andrea, Maggie and Sophia. Rick and Carl are a LOT worse for wear (Rick had his hand cut off by the governor and Carl was shot in the head accidentally by an ally) and I don't know how they'll deal with the brutal beating death of Glenn in issue 100.
-
Shit I forgot Michonne. Michonne is still alive as well. What the governor does to her will NEVER be as brutal on tv as it was in the comic. Not unless it was on HBO.
-
EW did a great job with these things. Wish they would come out with a poster or something containing all 4.
-
Go back to the hole you crawled out from smerdyakov. Season three is coming and I can't wait. Yes!!

Speaking of SPOILERS....SPOILERS from the comic book...dunno if that's spoiers for the show or not. Follows...
by Dogmatic
I AM SO DONE with the comic series....not b/c of it getting boring (though that's part of it) but b/c of how Glenn went out. I know it's a shock element and kinda intentional anticlimactic for such a survivable character going out like a chump...but still....I just felt that one nuked the fridge for me. Kirkman is now expecting me to completely detach myself from all characters to the point that he will assume I am okay with a character getting bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat. And leaving him alive with his head half gone was just unnecessary. Kirkman reminds me of FunBoy from The Crow graphic novel at this point. T-Bird: "Fun, her head half gone." FunBoy: "Ain't her head I'm interested in." I'm done Kirkman. Now you're just getting your jollies off fan reaction and no longer killing characters for any real plot development.

LOL at those who are pissed off/unhappy with the way characters die
by Toe Jam
Some of you will complain about anything. Kirkman is attempting to create a mature, realistic depiction of what a zombie apocalypse would be like, and you get turned off by the fact that endearing characters die in brutal ways. LOL. I'm pretty sure Kirkman doesn't get "jollies" from offending your delicate sensibilities. Rather, he's simply trying to stay true to the world he created. I wish more writers/artists/etc. did that. You're blaming Kirkman because you became emotionally invested in a character, and things didn't turn out the way they usually do in movies and other entertainment -- that is, the good guy(s) predictably triumphs and evil is vanquished. Just go back to your "Twilight" books and movies, or whatever else it is you read and watch that is stale and predictable and free of disturbing character deaths.
-
After all, he is a writer.
-
But I also agree with cobrakinte

@ toejam and smeryakov, I didn't get turned off the series because of
by Dogmatic
Glenn getting killed off. I got turned off b/c of the WAY it happened. Glenn deserved a better death than that...and the writer controls it. And yes, even in a realistic zombie apocalypse (which is why I first loved the book) it is possible to write a better more noble death than that. If he wanted to see what it would be like for someone's brains to get bashed in he should have went with a less endearing character. I feel Kirkman is trying too hard now to shock us and make us feel terrible. He can (and has) done that already with far more class.
-

That said, I LOVE and will continue to watch the show. Hopefully they don't stick TOO close to the comic on some things. I do want, however,

. . . A mature, realistic depiction of what a zombie apocalypse would be like . . .
by rahtard
That made me LOL.
-
He's holdings gun in one hand so that means he'll probably get his hand cut off like he should My thinking here is hopefully they'll meet michone while in prison see the helicopter crash getc captured by meryle who's the governors right hand man cut Ricks hand off rape michone (either off camera or not at all depending how the censors are) in the escape Daryl kills meryle then towards the end of the season the governorl leads a raid on the prison and kills t-dog with michones sword and then ends up killing Lori and her Shane spawn (off camera of course) if that's how it goes down I'll be a happy walking dead fan if not I'll bitch and complain but watch it anyway And detective ferling he doesn't get the eye patch till michone fucks his life up you people really should read the comic
-
Read the comic and you'll see that your comment is a completely misinformed over-reaction.
-
Why does Glenn deserve a noble death? People die all the time and guess what it's not noble. John Lennon was shot in the back was that noble? Glenn being killed with a baseball bat is a realistic as me dying in a car crash on my way home tonight. Death is not noble and most of the time we don't get to choose how we go out.
-

LOL At Complaining About Glenn's Death Not Being "Noble"
by HateThaNet
You want Glenn to go out in a "noble" way because he's a major character you like, yet you want Kirkman to keep it a realistic portrayal of death? Haha, dumbest shit ever.
-
I'd have to say I was just as upset and bothered by the way Abraham went out a few issues earlier, than I was with Glen (that was just perfectly handled, the tension was brutal). At first I'm like "it ain't no thing, just an arrow" then they had to show from the other angle. Abraham certainly did not get a hero's like I expected, but that's how it is.
-
"hero's death" I meant. It actually kind of pained me seein Abraham getting picked at by walkers.
-
I clicked it. It said SPOILER and I still clicked it. I thought I couldn't be spoiled much as I can't remember much from the end of last season, but it turns out I was wrong. I've stayed away from spoilers as much as possible for years now when I used to lap them up. It's better experiencing a show without knowing what's going to happen, who knew?
-
It is BEYOND me why the hired this British dude who looks nothing like the Governor from the comics and then they dress him like his wardrobe comes from J Peterman. Seriously. J Peterman. NOW........before you jump up and down and say "It's the actor, who cares what he looks like"...I will give you a counter: Why hire and then make-up and dress actors who look like the comics as in DALE, GLEN, MICHONNE? Why do that and then do a complete non-sequitor like the Governor. It's not like there weren't actors who would have been perfect and looked the part. Like John Hawkes. Or Daniel Buran who was the spitting image of the Governor in True Blood season 4 wolf pack leader Marcus.
-
It is WAY different than Lennon b/c that was reality and this is fiction! Even if it is realistic fiction it is STILL fiction...and the author can write it any way he likes! I am saying I did not like what he liked...not one bit. So, I'm out. I can't force anyone else to stop buying it nor would I try, but I can stop myself. And he could have at the very LEAST had Glenn fight back. I mean, the guy said for no one to make a move....meaning the others...not Glenn....he woulda still gone down...but at least gone down fighting. THAT wasn't very realistic AT ALL. You gonna sit there while a dude gets ready to bash your head in and do nothing? Even if you know you're gonna get blown away if you attack the dude it'd be worth a shot.

having not read the comic, why does she have armless jawless zombies?
by zom-bot.com
if she can't use them as attack dogs, what for? can they still sniff out people? fire away for me having not read the comic and asking a stupid question, but hey.
-
If memory serves, because they're dispatched quite quickly, they served to help Michonne blend in. But eventually you find out they're the corpses of her ex boyfriend and his best friend with the jaws removed so they can't attack.
-
Their scent keeps walkers away from her--sort of like the episode where Glen and Rick smeared them selves in that walkers organs and were able to walk through a crown of them unnoticed. She put them in the chains and removed their jaws and arms for that purpose once they turned--hence the "over-reaction" I mentioned above on the part of jsn.
-
ah, yes, thanks for clarifying for me. It's been years since I've read the governor arc.
-
Governors gonna kick ass
-
Cause nuttin can top an pissed and bitter Sista with two Zom..er, I meant Walkers in Chains. Darryl/merle is my second choice and Rick looks lie he could use a Cold one after a Day of fending off a few walkers while putting up with his annoying Bitch of a Wife, Lori. Good Job EW!

Merle's return is a massive spolier, and they are ADVERTISING it!
by daggor
Sure, we expected Merle to pop up eventually - but how and when is part of the fun. It's a, you know, surprise. Is he a zombie? Is he near death? Does he have a weapon hand? The asshats at AMC decided to trumpet: "Merle is coming! Tune in to see Merle!" What you do is surprise the audience with his return & THEN you advertise. Walking Dead is doing fine in the ratings. Make viewers regret missing the surprise if they aren't watching live.

Toejam and co: it's not that Glen (or Abraham) had to die nobly or anything...
by Monroville
It's the fact that they died in the way they did. Kirkman has these characters set up as bad-asses that know how to cover their own asses and survived through all kinds of shit just to get wacked not just out of the blue, but because the "Great Bird of the WALKING DEAD Universe" was bored and decided to kick the readers in the nuts. Forget about them going out with a grenade taking a few other zombies/goons/martians/fill-in-the-blanks with them... it's the fact that after Rick and co. took out the cannibalistic hunters they go from being close to schizophrenically paranoid to 5-year-old obliviousness. Why would Rick let a survivor go to warn the Governor #2? How in the HELL would the others find Rick and his town so fast? What, they can run faster than a van can drive? And why would Rick go back to the other town just to warn them (after said goons tracked them and discovered their town)? And how did Abraham (who I believe used to be special forces, or at least a well trained man in the military) get the jump on him? What, are we back to not communicating or having Andrea (and a few other trained snipers) keeping an eye out on things? Having them die is almost inevitable, as time itself will take care of that. But when Carl can survive having a chunk of his head blown off but Abraham dies from an arrow through the eye... um, what? Really? Carl can survive a more traumatic injury than a 6'8" body builder type? Add onto that characters constantly doing dumb-ass things just to put themselves into jeopardy (like Rick and kid taking the woman and her kid out into the zombie hoard with zombie guts on them... like THAT was going to turn out good) to keep the readers "entertained". Kirkman is just pressing your buttons, and I refuse to play along. The characters are too stupid to live and there is no point in caring about them, as it's all just a waiting game until a "Lori and the baby get blasted SCANNERS style in the last panel".
-

And how did Abraham (who I believe used to be special forces, or at least a well trained man in the military) get the jump on him?
by Monroville
What I meant was: how did anyone get the jump on Abraham? Sure, you can say he was distracted by talking to the other guy, but they KNEW there were other baddies out there, AND their town was discovered... so why were they just casually walking out in the open?
-
Now that's a KNIFE mate
-
I figure, is that Rick is holding his gun in his left hand. So perhaps they are catching up to a big plot point from the comics.

Lori's zombie child? Total rip-off of Zac Snyder's Dawn of the Dead Remake.
by Stalkeye
-
... by this point in the series Rick and his gang have faced quite a few people who thought they were tough. The Governor, and those cats who hunted humans amongst others. So when they heard about this "Negan," they assumed: a.) he may not even exist, or b.) even if he did, they were more badass than he was and could take him on like they took on the others. They've survived for so long that they got cocky. As such, when Abraham wasn't thinking that this was his day to die. Which is usually when you do.
-
After the events of issue 100, I hope we get to see Rick and the others now living under Negan's yoke for a substantial amount of time before Rick takes him out. Now that we've had this set-up, if Rick manages to take Negan out right away I'll be bummed.
-
Even thought he is carrying the gun gun in his left hand I think that's to throw comic fans off. Kirkman has said that having Ricks hand get cut off was worst decision he has made in the comic and tied his hands in several situations. I would love for it to happen but I think having to green screen his hand for however long the series lasts would become to cost preventative. But who knows maybe it will happen, I kind of hope so.
-
as stated above, there's no way they'll cut it off in the show. Maybe the Gov chops some fingers off or stabs him in the hand so it'll be useless and bandaged from here on out, but full on hand amputation? no way. But then he could rebound just like his son did with having HALF HIS FUCKING HEAD BLOWN OFF IN THE COMIC! That is Kirkman jumping the shark for me. I saw that spread in the comic where it shows his gunshot wound and I was thrown...prior to that I thought even if Rick dies, Carl would carry the book forward. Now that he's "healing", Kirkman offs two other interesting characters randomly.
