“Boss,” my third favorite series of 2011, comes roaring back tonight with a fascinating new (and probably not temporary) chief of staff for Chicago mayor Tom Kane.
We’re told the Lewy is getting worse. Kane’s daughter Emma is not having a blast in prison. Sam Miller prays his publisher does not alter his deal further. Daniel J. Travanti (Furillo!) is still lurking hornily about.
Kathleen Robertson fleetingly but memorably examines her own sumptuous naked breasts, as if to ensure you’re paying close attention.
The second season premiere ends with a cliffhanger that left me very keen to see what happens next.
Mitt Romney has a really fake-sounding laugh but “Boss” stars a Republican who can act! Watch this show! Thank me later!
Maher’s roundtable guests this week are Broadcast.com founder Mark Cuban, columnist Reihan Salam and news anchor Alex Wagner; talk-show host Chelsea Handler is an interview guest.

It needed a slightly bigger budget. The bad CG exterior shots kinda hurts it some. You see those and think, "ugh." And eventhough it's somewhat a spoof of noir/revenge movies, some of the acting is bad. Yes, some of that was done on purpose. But the director doesn't have the right chops to pull off the bad acting as being somewhat tongue-in-cheek. It just comes off as bad. But it's a pretty fun show. Max Williams kills it though. I hope he gets some good roles off this. He plays a great psychopath. I saw a post somewhere that said he would make an awesome Joker. He's not a big enough star for that, but this guy would make a great villian in a comic book movie. It's a fun show though. I never watched Sledge Hammer, but Alan Spencer is supposed to be a great writer and script doctor. He doesn't have an impressive imdb page, but hopefully this is a start of better things to come from him.

Yes the Disney Cruise was good, its not really my thing since I'd rather just get to where I'm going to quickly and then enjoy it, but for a cruise it was pretty great, unlimited food, pools and a water slide on the boat, every night had a Disney play (most were chessey, but fun) or magician or juggler, (later in the night both had adult shows in the adult club area which were great, I even made the mistake of sitting in the front row and getting called up to be part of the magician show, a movie theater with Disney produced shows, so I saw Avengers, Brave and People Like Us. We were supposed to stop at Costa Maya & Cosumel Mexico, but because of hurricane Errnesto we went to St Maartin east of Puerto Rico. My son and I wandered around the old city and bought stuff from the folk craft vendors. I bought a frog carved out of marble. We also found a place called "the Yoda Guy" Nick Maley one of the original Star Wars designers who had a hand in designing Yoda, Chewbacca and other Star Wars characters had a small museum on the island along with his studio so we went up to meet him since it was open to the public. Then to St Thomas in the Virgin Island we stopped and while there I took a boat out to St John to see the ruins of an old Sugar Plantation from when the Dutch owned the island. Then we went to Disneys own island Castaway Cay for beach time. Thn afterwards we did the 4 parks in Disney World (actually used to work in the Magic Kingdom in the Disney College Program so it was fun going back. Also we went to Universal Islands of Adventure, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was sooooo awesome! Dr Suess land was fun also, I hate to say it though, but Universal does a horrible job with running the park itself though, supper long lines which could easily be fixed with copying Disney's fastpass system (they have something similar, but you have to pay for it) plus he workers are unhelpful, but still Harry Potter was incredible, I can't wait until the California park gets it in 2015. So all in all a good trip.

I tried out strikeback recently, watched the first 4 episodes (of the 2nd season/1st american season)

Couldn't get into it though, just feels like a competent action show with good production values but doesn't really bring anything new or unique to the table. Nothing really bad to say about it, but in an era like this with so many great shows like Mad Men, Game of thrones, Boardwalk empire, etc I didn't see the point in keeping with it. I might still try out the 'real' first season, the Brit one since I hear it's different from the 2nd/US one, but who knows. The BOSS premiere was solid. I still feel like that show is one hair away from something I like enough to own/rewatch but I will keep watching the new stuff.
