This should've been posted a few days ago...but it's been one of those weeks. Nonetheless, it's not too late to be a part of this truly wondrous opportunity.
The fine folks over at La la Land records are in the process of assembling a truly remarkable, utterly complete compilation of all of music from the original STAR TREK series - including a fair portion that's never been released, or even heard, before. The significance of this to both history and the Geek community...well...it can't be overstated. This is one of the finest television scores of all time - big, bold, adventurous, bombastic, elegant, gritty, playful, emotional - for one of the most important television series in the history of the medium. That I once had aggressive sex to the combat music from Amok Time also informs my affection for this score, but that's an entirely different story.
That this is happening is simply amazing (I'm talking about the CD set, not my having sex - although that's somewhat miraculous as well). A collection of this audacity and thoroughness, so respectfully presented, is long overdue, and rocks in many, many ways.
